  1. Sweet, looks good. What happened to your other wheels?
  2. Here's another big tree with people standing nearby for reference...
  3. I didn't get any photos of that one as there was a family blocking it, but I don't think it could compare to the 40ft diameter of grant. Maybe it was the tallest one of those redwoods. Edit: That tree is the one on it's side in the background below.
  4. Decided that since I've been back in CA for 3 months now and Kings Canyon, Sequoia and Yosemite are all so close to my parents' houses, I'm going to be making some trips to all three. Hit up Kings Canyon today, and man was it a good time to go. They just opened up the road down to the North Fork of the river yesterday, and it was flowing in full force, perhaps the highest level it has flowed in many years. Peak on the left is about 1000ft higher than the truck, right peak a good 3000-4000ft higher. A look towards the river canyon from about 5500ft. Base is around 3500, snowy peaks are assumed to be around 11-12000ft and a good 15 miles away... View of canyons from about 4000ft elevation A very cool road to drive on Small snow runoff waterfall For some reason, I really like this picture. Base of General Grant (3rd largest tree in the world, 40ft in diameter) Kings River was RAGING today
  5. Having HAD issues with my radix injectors flowing inconsistently, I would say flow matched would be very very nice. However, I was able to fix my issues and lower the inconsistencies considerably. I still wouldn't mind flow-matched injectors, but not at that huge of a price difference...
  6. What complaint did you file? I could use 1 wire.
  7. Just another piece of junk to add to your collection.
  8. Congrats, every truck should have boost.
  9. i think he is planning on a 454 small block , doesent speed engeneering already have the 4l80 kit? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That was why I was asking. If he was using them or not. Can a small block go to 454? Never heard of that. Maybe I need to google that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's a new thing. Not sure if it was posted here or on PT.net, but it popped up a few months back.
  10. Doubt he'll use Makani's guys. They're a good 6-7 hours away. Would be like you driving to NY (distance-wise) to have the work done.
  11. 4L80, big cubes, and alot of nitrous. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Going to swap to 2wd then with that 80e?

  13. what exactly did you mess up? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The joint of the shaft has some sort of coupler type thing that sticks out. At some point the coupler thing caught the wire and tore a chunk out of it.
  14. I have them and like them, but ended up messing up #5. I'd recommend checking it periodically to make sure that the steering shaft joint doesn't mess yours up as well.
  15. Depends on how much torque is being delivered to the trans. Anywhere from 0PSI base up to 90PSI.
  16. BE CAREFUL with his radix tune. I wouldn't run your truck hard until you can take a look at it with some tuning software. My truck and I believe Holty's had the PCM4less radix tune, and PE mode wasn't set to come on til 90% throttle. Also, I had about 10* too much timing in the lower RPM, higher load areas... Result, LOTS of KR and crappy performance.
  17. Glad to hear you don't work for Chevron. Last 2 tanks I bought were shitty. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> really chevron is the place ive always good luck with , well them and 76. but there is something that needs to stop the gouging, this is getting absolutely rediculous, it cost me almost 40 bucks to fill my beater today <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, two tanks for me, one in San Jose, the other in Fresno, both crap.

I bet if it were all black it would pull for you <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Seriously, maybe it's that oxygenated crap you have to run in CA? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm thinking it's an operator error. I can do well over 115 using this crap gas.
  20. My thoughts exactly. It's one thing when photographers try to keep from interacting with wildlife, but for God's sake, help out a kid in need, geez.
  21. One thing to note, we DO need them in the work force to keep our current cost of living. Without illegal farm labor, the vast majority of California produce would have to go up in price as you won't find a citizen that'll work for the same labor. And if you know just how agricultural the state is, you'll understand that a rise in costs in CA will affect everyone. What we don't need is for them to enter the country illegally to do this work, what we do need is some form of a guest worker program. That said, a single day boycott won't do much at all to the economy. An entire harvest season boycott would be devastating, but it will never happen, as the illegals who come here seasonally to earn money to take back to mexico for their families won't miss out on the opportunity to work. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In Iowa where I'm from it wouldn't be as devastating as it seems. We're actually one of the biggest food producing states. It would hurt on some of the foods that we import that can't be grown here but if it really came down to that in CA we wouldn't be without food for sure. Besides, my point when I said they can be replaced was that they can be replaced with others. Not every single illegal laborer is boycotting and not all of them want to take the risk of being without a job by doing something like that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gotcha on the replacement point. There's always one there to fill in the shoes of the one not willing to work. That is, unless they organize well like back in the Cesar Chavez days and start to vandalize farms.
  22. Raising the minimum wage is always a bad move. It will seem good for a few months, but is one of the biggest fuels for inflation. Once prices rise to compensate, those on minimum wage will be just as bad off as they were before.

I disagree; as shown in the last 10-years, these people will be largely automated out of a job, the writing's on the wall and it's just a matter of time. AFA the May 1 walkout - we have two hispanic people here today, apparently they didn't get the memo. I am personally prejudiced on the illegal immigrant issue. My first love inherited 80-acres of almonds and 300-acres of peaches in Escalon, CA; in that 12 years (until she finally sold the place) she was raped twice by immigrant wet-back labor. I guess it is something that I have never been able to forgive, I have never looked at illegal/transient people the same since. I agree very strongly with Dylan's point that THESE PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE ANY RIGHTS UNDER THE CONSTITUTION, and should be treated likewise. Mr. P. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Talking to someone raised on a CA farm and connected to many other farmers of all types of crops... For SOME crops, automation is aboslutely possible. Look at the raisin industry over the past ten years. Contract work crews (illegals) drove up their rates tremendously, combined with very low price per ton of raisin, and now what took a crew of 50 before can be done by two or three. Wine Grapes and table grapes on the other hand cannot benefit from those advances and still require large crews to harvest. And a large group of my close friends grow wine and table grapes and are very concerned about what is going on and a need for a guest worker program as there are no viable automated options for harvest. Same can be applied to many fruits, berries and vegetables. Some can be automated, others simply cannot. And as to your prejudice... My mom faced a similar threat and had she not been walking with our 12 year old, blind lab at the time, she is certain that the gang of wetbacks that stopped in front of her would have done something similar. She now carries a gun when she is out walking from that scare. Combine that with watching a pair of "savages" swerve across the road to run over some families cat as well as the same situation occur with my family's cat growing up. No sympathy at all from me.
