  1. I'm having this problem right now as well... In addition, I don't have control of where the air comes out. It's all out the defrost. My 95 GMC had the same problem back in the day and it ended up being a shorted connection in the harness that plugged into the control module. I'm probably going to go out and check the connections out later on tonight on mine...
  2. Frederick, MD actually, not quite in DC as you'll know - but still somewhat metro I Probably low-balled condo and townhouse prices a bit, been 6 - 8 months since I've actively looked. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I lived in Gaithersburg for a year and then Arlington for a year and a half and worked in Fairfax... Nothing even close to reasonable anywhere in there...
  3. Sheesh, what part of the DC area are you living in? I lived out there til early this year and I saw absoultely nothing under 375K...
  4. hardly..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Vacaville trailer park aside... Have you been to Fairfield?
  5. Congrats man. Nice step up from Fairfield.
  6. Girlfriend is flying into Oakland in about 7 hours. Notable events to include: a Giants game with friends from college, see Frank Caliendo at a comedy club, possibly a hike somewhere or a walk on the beach, etc.
  7. He has a PCMForless radix tune, which a number of people have had the same problems with. I can send you an EFI Live showing the issues with PE mode and way too high of timing at low RPMs...
  8. hey farva what is the name of the restaurant you like with all of that crap on the wall?? what Shenanigans??? "ooooooooohhhhhhhhh" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My all time favorite comedy!
  9. Full throttle yes, but whether it comes from a dead stop to WOT or cruise to WOT will need to be known to even begin to understand what you're going through - so until you figure that out...... Once you figure that out, go with the high octane and see if it's false or not. If you have the same interceptor gauge many of us on here have, you can monitor O2s. You just have to change what you're viewing - the directions will tell you how to change it (about 25 choices). You'll need to either look at B1S1 or B2S1. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am getting the high KR whenever i am at WOT. Whether it be from a dead start or a rolling start or crusing. I can moniter this stuff but i dont know what it should say and do i moniter it while cruising or at WOT? Some things are so hard to tell...like my short trim and my 02 voltage go up and down so much its hard to tell. I dunno what to do i just really hope its not a freakin cracked piston. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your O2 should be positive, above 880mv anytime you're above 40% throttle or so.
  10. I helped a friend from FSC install one on his 2000 5.3L and compare to his K&N. Results via logging showed averaging less flow than the K&N did by about 1%... The positive result of it was it didn't have the deafening roar of the K&N.
  11. I once recall Blownchevy saying that 12.2:1 is the radix's "sweet spot".
  12. Anybody know if this is possible without using the IR controls on a Kenwood DDX-7015?
  13. Stations around me have already started to drop down some.
  14. I'm willing to put money on both of your problems being that you're not going into PE mode until 90% throttle. That and you've probably got about 8-10* too much timing from 1600-2400rpms
  15. PCMForless Radix Tune by chance?? If so, I'd be willing to bet that is lean knock... Check your narrowband O2s. You should go above 900mv anytime you go into boost. If your tune is like mine, it will stay at stoic until 90% throttle, which is a BIG no-no for boosted motors.
  16. Thoughts of "Resident Evil" and "Final Destination 2" run through my head from that first story.
  17. For the pentagon strike, there were people on Washington Blvd (100yds from the pentagon, grass sits between the building and the road) whose cars were damaged by the jetwash as the 757 flew over at an extremely low altitude and knocked over a bunch of light poles. I know a number of people who were working in Crystal City at the time that had to walk home. One of my girlfriend's co-workers was IN the pentagon when it was struck, and confirms that there was a lingering stench of Jet fuel for a long period of time. Thousands of people heard and felt the explosion from that jet fuel and could see the plume of smoke as a result, it's not just some superimposed video edit. That area is a huge traffic bottleneck from 6:30am til after 10am every day, with easily over 100,000+ people working in buildings 10+ stories within a mile, with the pentagon easily visible to well over 10,000 people at any given moment. Had it NOT been a plane, there would be a hell of a lot MORE people claiming that it was something else. Tenbase on fullsizechevy works for a printer toner cartridge company that services the DC metro area. Three of the driver's that he works with personally witnessed the 757 hit the pentagon. A plane never hit the pentagon, MY ASS.
  18. What kind of farming does your family do? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Currently, Grapes (Raisins) and Almonds. Raisins used to be a very labor intensive crop. But since those crew managers started to get greedy a few years back and market prices were real low, a lot of advancements have been made and day labor is no longer needed. Friends grow grapes for all reasons, plums, almonds, blueberries, and I'm certain some other crops that I'm not thinking of. Blueberry season starts today for that friend, and if the first picking is big enough I get to go and help them sell at a Farmer's Market tomorrow in south SF.
  19. And where do you suppose an illegal fresh from mexico would get someone else's SSN? from the employer!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not in any of the farm situations that I have been personally aware of. More often than not there is one legal worker managing a crew of illegals and that individual will be the one coming up with numbers for the rest of them. It's also not hard to come up with a 9 digit number to provide a farmer when you're only going to be working in his field for a couple of weeks... By the time the number is deemed false, the guy has been paid and is off working another crop.
  20. My advice is once you find a good gas station or brand, stick with it. I've picked up 3 crappy tanks of gas in the past month and a half or so...
  21. BS to your statement that they don't give fake SSNs. Illegals don't FILE taxes. They give a fake SSN to an employer or a SSN that belongs to someone else. Taxes are pulled out of their paychecks and applied to that number, but that is as far as it goes. My family farms and the families of many of my good friends are farmers. Don't think that I don't have first hand experience with this stuff.
  22. Despite all of what was last said. The people in question are still ILLEGALLY here. It has never been right and never will be right. Who cares if they're not getting a tax refund that a legal person should get. They're not "owed" it because legally, they shouldn't have had the opportunity to make the money in the first place. The only reason they're paying any taxes at all is because they're giving a false SSN because an employer requires it to cover their own ass. The issue boils down to the fact that there is an ever growing population of people living within the borders of the US that did not come here the legal way. Any and all methods used to curb this problem should be explored.
  23. Hi- Just two quick questions that I haven't been able to find searching through the forum. First, what size belt should I be using with the 2.9" pulley? Second, for those CA and other low-altitude 91 Octane areas, have you safely been able to run this much boost without running into a lot of knock issues? Thanks Justin
