  1. not too bad...use a coat hanger, get it in one shot and I used 12 gauge wire to the cross over boxes and speakers (I know it's overkill but I bought a 100' spool for when I did my subs and didn't know how much I was going to use the price differance at my cost was only $11)

For when you install your set here's some places you could place your crossover boxes (left side inside fuse panel and right side behind and up from the glovebox), and a word from experience, wire your tweeters -3db on the crossovers.

One question for the guys that have used sound deaden material (dynamat, raammat etc) notice in the first pic the scuff on the dash and the grill rubbing...anyone else have that problem? I only went one layer and it's pissing me off with the scuff mark.

  2. How loud is it in the cab?  If you can, post a sound or video clip

I'll post a video clip soon...I moved a couple months ago and the camcorder is still packed in a box somewhere. It does have a bit of drone from 2k - 2.5k RPM but I speed so I drive near 3k (85-95) on the interstate and can't hear it (although if I'm in that range my stereo is louder than the drone :) )

  3. the reason it's crappy, you're downloading dvd rips that are in mpeg4 format (divx)...when you burn a dvd using sonic it's converting it to mpeg2 (what normal dvds are encoded in)

In my opinon, get dvd shrink, anyDVD, and nero. Get a membership to your fav rental house with unlimited rentals and burn your own.

If you have a divx dvd player, then just get gordian knot and make your own rips so that you can fit 4-6 movies on a single dvd w/o much image loss.

  4. I'm down in Cincinnati...there's gonna be a big all Chevy car show at the Polish club in Dayton this Sunday. Our car club (Tri-state Chevelles) and a tri 5 club (Gem City Classics) is putting it on. I'll be there in my SS although the show is for 72 and prior should be a lot of fun. Later

too bad...now that I live in Richmond, IN (about 20 minutes away) I have to work this weekend

  5. well if he gets your ISP he can contact them and feed them and line and get you hassled by them (if not dropped)....just a bit of wisdom speaking from experience

he can't get you banned from the internet but get you dropped by your existing ISP...but you already know that hopefully :)

  6. Well now that I switched locations (store that I run) I've seen some work that my new insaller does and it has given me new ideas for my truck.

You guys may remember me as the one that has 8 8"s behind the bucket seats.

After seeing what he did in his S-10 I think I'm going to glass a whole new box that is the console and the rear box (16 8"s) will be the target.

  7. I found out on Thursday that I'm changing stores....not in Kokomo anymore. Not going to be SM @ Noblesville either when it opens.

As of Saturday I'm the new GM of Richmond. So I'm still about a hour away from the fun. I'm just looking for a house or apartment right now.

  8. Although I have never made it to one of these (I hate my job in only that one aspect). The entire month of July is out for me...Grand Opening of the new store in Noblesville then. But if it's semi quick (early)...say June, I have a chance to pull rank and switch some days off to get it done. Or you could just stop by and point and laugh while I'm at work (or buy a couple flat panels :dunno: ) if it's in July...it's right off 37 across from Tom Wood Ford.

Say make it a precursor to the Zippy2 event for you guys?

Whatever works out for everyone else....I'll try to make it work so I can at least make an appearance (and to put faces with names).
