  1. i aint never seen one of those that is kinda cool

I remember those being rather expensive. I got the cheaper version, which is just the front and side walls made of plastic. Uses the seat as the lid. Great for keeping stuff from sliding around.

RickRolled's box should be a good deal for somebody who needs one.

  2. I don't think you would hurt anything by driving with the pump broken. Back when I had my Radix installed, the installer missed the "dummy fuse" so the pump got no power. It will hurt performance, though. I suppose in extreme situations it could make things more prone to pinging (hot weather, lots of full throttle driving). I think the computer will take care of keeping that from happening, though. Just take it a bit easy till you get it fixed and you are sure to have no worries.

  3. From that link

"just hollow out some cats. the cops will never know"

Cops can't smell? A engine without cats makes a distinctive smell, easy enough to catch when you are behind the car. We would probably call it cool, but cops are used to pulling over street racing ricers, and are no doubt wise to the hollowed out cat and the resulting smell of exhaust.

Some more information on Cats in CA from the CARB website:

    CARB Aftermarket Catalytic Converters

    Q. What is the penalty for a violation of the law?

    A. Catalytic converter falls under California anti-tampering law. The law is designed to prevent tampering with pollution control devices on California vehicles. The anti-tampering law is Vehicle Code Section 27156 and covers all pollution related systems and devices on a motor vehicle. A violation of this law may also include a parallel violation of California Business and Professions Code Sections 17200 and 17500. Judges usually impose penalty based on the severity of the offence and whether a repeat offender is involved, and a fine of up to $2,500 for each violation may be assessed, as well as some jail time

I think the big fines are for shops installing illegal CATs not individuals.

  4. Dave at OC Transmission just rebuilt my SS's transmission last month. He does great work, lots of good word of mouth out there about his shop. Dave knows his stuff for these trucks and what the good mods are. I was not the first SS he has worked on. I went for a bit higher stall speed on the torque converter, which does seem to make is a bit quicker, with a slight loss of manners when doing easy going driving. I am sure my rebuilt transmission will last a long time even with the supercharger.

Back in February, I had him build a 700r4 transmission for my 64 Impala, which broke due to some engine trouble I was having (engine would not idle, and I was trying to get it home, and must have popped it into gear at too high an RPM -1,500 or so, and broke the input shaft. He stood behind it and fixed it, even though it would have been easy to say it was my fault that it broke due to abuse because of the engine issue.

  5. heated memory seats.

Ahh nothing like sitting in a memory seat and reminiscing. Heated memory seats are even better :P .

shit kit tranny was rebuilt 2 months ago,

Not sure I would want a transmission with that kind of kit installed :wtf:

plus i got 3 kids but ut is t

Well, somehow he managed to figure out how to make kids... Too bad about little Ut being a T :jester:

plus put that votech suopercharger on it youll be in charge

Does it come with the supercharger? Or did he mean a soupercharger?

  6. You don't say where you are from, but if you are in a state with smog inspections, be sure to consider a system that will pass that inspection.

My vote is for the Radix (yes I am biased :P ). No tinkering required, just bolt it on and enjoy. Very reliable and looks like it came from the factory with it.

  7. Here is the post-mortum. The input shaft was loose where it attaches to the drum. There was a spiral crack in the part of the drum that holds the input shaft, which is how it got loose. The replacement has a steel band to help prevent this in the future. The shaft being loose seems to be what caused the 3/4 clutches to fail, as the input shaft moves out, it cuts off oil supply. At least that is as near as I can remember it. I don't know transmissions very well. :P

  8. I had a truck smogged and passed with a check engine light due to a bad wiring harness for the knock sensor and a gutted cat. for $75 dollars it will pass.

I would not want to do anything shady and certainly want to keep the spirit of the law. I like to breath clean air. With so many cars in SoCal, we have to make some sacrifices to keep from asphyxiating ourselves. It is just the overbearing control exerted by CARB with regard to any upgrades, that is bothersome..

:withstupid: If you do not go to crazy on the cam and keep the cats it will be in the tune if you pass or not. extreme cams will not pass for sure, and mild cams with out cams wont pass either.

My truck is due for smog this year for the first time and I already have smog shop that will let me put the truck on the sniffer before I test. I will first tune the truck and try to make it pass with my cam and 370 then go from there.

Mine passed it's first test a year ago and did well. I don't think the guy even bothered to check the CARB sticker on the supercharger. I guess that is one nice thing about the Radix, it is so well designed, it looks like original equipment.
