This is my prized 1996 Sportster. I am selling it because the SS has a blown trans now Now, onto the meat of this auction.. 1200 Custom Sportster. My reserve may seem high to some, but wait until you read the list of extras... Custom paint, Custom Fenders, Custom front end, Mustang Seat, Chrome Swing Arm, Neon Spark Plug wires, Custom Dash, forward controls. non Sportster tear drop air cleaner cover, and just about anything that can be chromed, or covered in chrome has been. Oil change and tune up last year, new plugs just a month ago. 3 years ago, I had one accident where the back brakes locked on me, causing a spill.. all damage was repaired by Chi Town harley, except for a very small ding and an even smaller chip on the tank. It runs perfectly. The odometer was unreadable when I bought it, so the title says 15639 miles, but when Chi Town replaced it for me, they read it as 6500 miles, so that's what the OD says to this day, and its why this auction is listed as such. Pickup at my home in Joliet, or ill drive it to you, within a reasonable distance from my home. If you want to arrange someone to pick it up because you're out of state, thats fine, but that is up to you. Cash, Cashier's check , Money order only. Paypal not preferred due to the high rates they charge. All sales are final, no refunds. asking 6500 for it.

i talked to danny, he quoted me a price, which was not bad, but a bit more than i can spend right now. im weighing my options at the moment. not sure what to do.

ok yeah.. mine is slipping. I talked to zippy, we figured between 1000 and 1500 and 2 to 3 days in repairs is an estimate. Im not complaining in anyway about that. nope.. no warranty.. 82000 miles i was hoping the parts would be in a shift kit. it was that hope, or a new tranny.. or what???

well.. on the way home.. started to slip big time going from first to second. and i cant go more than 1/8th throttle without slipping i can drive it gingerly for a while.. and the fluids are fine.. Zippy.. can you help diagnose this if i go to brent's on the 29th?? maybe bring out your shift kit.. would we have the facilitites and time for such an install? does that kit have the parts in it that may solve this issue, cuz it sounds like this is a known issue for our trannys???

I think i need a zippy shift kit.. or a zippy tranny swap.. too bad you're not setup for that today on the way to work, going about 55 on the highway.. i floored it, twice.. the RPMs went to 5500.. the MPH, stayed at 55.. i took my foot off the gas immediately, cuz i didnt want to damage anything.. this happened twice..

i just need the rubber cover actually i might take you up on that rear door panel, let me check with fast4popper tonight if he pops on (no pun intended) passenger side not available?

do you have the brake pedal? im missing the rubber cover on mine.. dunno where that fuggin thing went!!? also, what about the rear door interors?? and where's the engine?
