  1. Nice to see you back around (I have a lot of room to talk).

These are nice, I've gone a few times and looked at these and the new Silverado's and have test driven them.

Question, do you regret giving up the SS?

And congrats on the new truck and one heck of a steal/deal.

Nope ... I never drove it ... It was time to let someone else enjoy it. Plus I like have the $$$ sitting in my savings account, than sitting in driveway better ...

  2. Hey All ...

A few of you have known, but for the rest of you all ... I am posting up that I am finally back in the "Truck Club" again ...

Back in August, I traded in the Chrysler 300 and picked up my new truck. I would have kept the Chrysler a couple more years, but the car just wasn't holding any equity, and the value was tanking fast.

I wanted a 3/4 ton pickup, but after much deliberation, that would have been too much truck for what i would truly us if for on a day to day basis. I wanted a Denali version, but the price was a tad high, and they weren't dropping as quick as some other deals.

That being said, I was able to jump on one of those GMC Summer Sell-Down deals, and got 20% off the sticker price, right out of the gate. I was also able to get another $1500.00 off, and got top dollar for my trade. Truly was one of the easiest car purchasing experiences, anyone could have asked for. Done deal in about 15-20 minutes. Pickings were slim, and I did drive 3 hrs north, to get this one, but I was able to save almost $13k off sticker.

I wanted a Denali version, but I was able to save almost $16-$18k, and having the Denali name and a couple of extra options, wasn't worth the extra $$$ I would of have spent ...

I got a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 - Crew Cab - All Terrain Edition - SLT, with SLT Plus packaging, 4x4, shortbox. This also has the 6.2L V8 with 420 hp and 460 fp torque ...

Leather, Trailer Brake Controller, upgraded wheels, LED Bed lighting, Power sliding rear window, running boards, Factory installed splash guards ... and a lot of great options.

I Drove her off the lot with only 15 miles on her.

  3. Happy Thanksgiving ...

We got us some Smoked Turkey for today ... Yummy ....

I'll pull the bird at 10am or around an internal temp of 160-165*F ... Then wrap it in a few layers of Tin Foil, then wrap it up in an old Towel, and then put into a small Cooler (FTC Method). It will continue to cook up to 170-175*F. It will also be perfect for dinner around 2pm. I put her into the smoker last night at about midnight.

The FTC method will keep the bird piping hot for about 6-8 hours, even after you pull it from your heat. Works great with other foods too - Ribs, chickens porkchops ... etc.

All I can remember about making it is that a good Rue should take two beers to develop!!!! (that should be 3-4 beers at my pace ... Lol)

  6. Well the weather sucks but I'm cooking anyways... Who's firing up the grill and watching some football today?

  7. To my friend and my "Big Brother", Peter Morgan Goodrich, We miss you, I miss you, the world misses you ...

The Peter Morgan Goodrich foundation .... ... (please read)

Peter is my best friend's, older brother. His life was tragically ended, on September 11, 2001. Peter was a passanger on United Flight #175. This is the second plane to hit the World Trade Center. Peter was the type of guy to care about any and every aspect of your life.

Peter, I know I miss the wrestling matches, the punch on the shoulder and the genuine conversations you and I have both shared.

All is well, but you are sorely missed ...

Instead of dwelling on the life of their son being tragically taken, Sally and Donald have decided to share their son's life and memory through the foundation. His mother Sally, has opened a school in Afganistan for women, in honor of her son.

  8. Last but not least, my life is going to change come March 2016. My wife and I are pregnant with our first child! :chevy:

LMFAO ... You are not pregnant, She's pregnant, and your just hanging on for the ride ... You better step up your game and cater to her needs ...

Holy Shit ... Daniel is gonna be a Daddy?!?!?!

Congratulations to you two ... ... Being a father will be some of the best fun you'll ever experience ...
