  1. sorry to see it go, but you have to do what you have to do.
  2. How well will this cam work with a NA setup: comp 224/224 566/568 @ 112?
  3. did you get the headers coated?
  4. Will the stock rockers work with these cams? What all is needed(part wise)? Here's what I'm looking at right now: 1.) Comp 918 Springs(do you have a link to these) 2.) Thunder Racing 99-TR224/227-114 3.) GM part #12499228(gaskets) 4.) ????? Should the stock retainers be replaced with some TI Retainers or Steel Retainers? Sorry for the so many questions. As you can see I know nothing about cams and the internals. Thanks for the help
  5. that's pretty funny. I guess some people like to mod anything. The wife said I should do that . It would be cheaper than modding the SS I guess
  6. that's pretty funny. hope he didn't get too hurt
  7. Don't have one yet, but plan to add the radix a year or so down the road. I guess it would be great if I could get a cam that would work with NA and FI. I've been reading through a ton of cam post and I think someone mentioned the GT2 or 3 cam would work well in NA and FI(radix). I'll have to go back and check.
  8. Ok. I got my shift kit ordered from zippy and I'm looking at adding the dynatech supermax headers/high flow cats system. What cam will work best for my application? I need it to be streetable/drivable but still add a good dose of HP to my SS. Current Mods: 160 stat, CAI(Outlaw) with ram air tube(volant), magnecore plug wires, new plugs, pcmforless tune and flopro dual in/out muffler. Mods to ad before a cam: zippy shift kit(in the mail I hope), dynatech supermax headers/high flow cats. After the cam I plan on adding a stall, trans cooler and efans. I'm guessing a new cam would be needed for the FI. Any idea what 1/4 times my SS should run with all the mods listed. I plan on doing the shift kit and header install. The cam install will have to be done by a shop. Any idea what that install will run me.
  9. I can avg around 16 or 17 on normal driving conditions, but that isn't often. God knows what my real mpg is. I didn't buy the SS for mpg so I don't worry about it. Of course I do wish I didn't have to pay so much for gas My monthly gas bill would be a pretty decent car payment.
  10. that's prety good. I haven't heard this one before. Good deal
  11. Ok guys. The fun is over. Let's just close the thread and move on. we can all get along on here.
  12. When he went to cut me off I would just give him a little tap and send him into a spin. Stupid people who can't drive deserve what they get IMO .
  13. My traction control button is under my right foot . I punch it every once in awhile and my eyes light up. Maybe it's my traction control/light button JK
  14. I'd go with the sony grand wega 60". Plasma has a great pic but lots of potential problems from what I've read. LCD tv's pics are a lower quality than plasma but doesn't have the problems plasma do. If you have analog cable I wouldn't recommend a LCD. I've got a 20" in the basement in front of my treadmill and the pic isn't that great with analog cable. I still use my sony 35 or 36" tube tv. Can't beat the picture quality and no problems with burn in. For home theater sound I would just get a normal 7.1 setup. I use a sony system I put together and it sounds great. A powered sub is a must. I use a 12" powered sub from Vidsonix. I'm a dealer of their stuff so it was a no brainer for me. The price was too good to pass up and the sub sounds great. It hits hard and really brings the DVD movies to life. I would not recomend spending a lot on the home theater speakers. I've got a friend in high end stuff and it's not worth the money IMO. why spend $2,500+ on speakers that might sound better than a $1,500 set? I stress the word might. you could hook up two exact same systems and tell people one cost much more and is a better brand and they will think it sounds better even though the systems are the same. Just my opinion. Good luck with what ever you get
  15. well, in that case, i would deffanetly get the shift kit. if for nothing else, it makes for a more (somewhat) reliable tranny. I personally wouldn't do a stall converter until you get FI. Thats just me though. IMO, i say do the shift kit and the E-fans. or, the shift kit and the headers/cats <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just sent zippy a question about this. If I don't really need the stall right now, I could buy another mod. My purpose of getting the stall + shift kit was so it can be installed at the same time. If I just got the shift kit I would attempt the install myself and maybe get another mod. Rigth now I'm leaning towards shift kit + efans and maybe the headers + high flow cats in a month or so. *EDIT* Zippy agreed I should wait on the stall so it looks like I'll be ordering a zippy shift kit and some efans. Anybody got a set they want to sell? I've searched eBay for the flex fans but haven't found any auctions. I guess I'll search the web for a dealer. Let me know if anybody has a link to a dealer. Thanks
  16. That's a big upgrade . I currently have a sony 36". I've thougth about going bigger, but I'll probably wait a couple years. You're going to be amazed at the size of the picture for a couple months. I went from 25" to 36" and was amazed for awhile. My next tv upgrade will be a projector for movies. Enjoy
  17. I would look for a 2005 SS. The miles would have to be pretty low plus it would have the efans. That mod I hear can cost from $250-$350 plus a tune if you want them controlled the PCM.
  18. just plug it all together and see what happens JK. Looks like a nice tv though. What size tv did you have before?
  19. Sounds like a nasty @ss drink to me. Coffee and coke...blah I'm surprised the cost of coke/pepsi hasn't went up any. You would think with as much as they drive and delivery their product, high gas prices would be hitting them hard .
  20. I currently have a pcmforless tune, outlaw CAI with volant ram air tube, 160 stat and flowpro dual in/out muffler. I would like to get into the 12's like you Holty . I know more is required so I'm doing my mods in steps now that my warranty is gone. I also have EFILive for tuning and scanning. I just have to find time to learn how to tune
  21. a good way to pass the time I clicked till it started over again. Did anybody find the white button?
  22. There isn't a starbucks near me(small town). I drink store bought coffee 3-4 days a week. It helps me stay awake during my hour long drive to work . I need to get a job that is closer. Can any ss members from Lexington, KY find me a job?
