  1. double post.... sorry. Wasn't patient enough. DSL a little slow tonight. Please don't kick me off. I'm a
  2. All this.... and a 6-speed please.
  3. All this.... and a 6-speed please.
  4. I really like the Silver Birch.... alot. I often thought the silver truck would look cool with the stock silver 20"s, (not chrome), and the SS in red. Not too much, just a little to set it off.
  5. Don't forget the Scottsdale trim level between the Cheyenne and the Silverado. My 83 Scottsdale has EVERYTHING the Silverado had except carpet and headliner. (Power windows, locks, air, cruise, tilt, power brakes, steering, cloth seat)
  6. Nice garages! I would take pictures of mine, but I'm literally embarrassed by it right now. It is complete, but I use it every now and then to do staining/finishing of trim. A little trim here and there isn't too bad in a 32 x 34 garage. Yeah... except I'm in the process of building a log-sided house for a customer, and thought I'd do the log. I had 1/2 of the siding delivered, and it's taken up one full bay. Good thing it's a 3-car, or I wouldn't be able to get the SS in the evenings. I'll get pictures as soon as it's cleaned out... 32 x 34, 220 air compressor with lines in the walls, In-floor heat, hanging modine, and wood-stove (I like to burn wood). Recessed lighting, 220 welding outlets (don't know why... I don't weld.) 8 foot doors, 4 - 5' x 5' windows, 11 foot ceilings, insulated and sheetrocked. 1800 psi electric pressure washer hard-wired and plumbed so I can wash the car/truck in the garage. Also 1/2 bath in the garage, 'cause the house toilet was just too far away. The sink is nice to have out there too. And, a rootbeer tap in the wall. My kids like rootbeer, so I installed a keg, and plumbed it into the refrigerator, and then back out, so I can have a spout coming out of the wall with cold rootbeer. The refrigerator is for my REAL beer.
  7. i dont like her either but most smart people will already tell you a democrat is going to win the next election so why not her? 'Cause she was already the president for two terms!

  9. You know, this is a pretty good point, and I haven't heard it in quite a while. I remember my Grandma used to say it.... or was it my Dad... might have been my uncle... Oh well... when you get this old, CRS kicks it into high gear. My insurance is $225.00/mo with 300k/150k, on my SS (full coverage), my wife's Impala (full coverage), my 83 Chev (liability, and comprehensive), my 2001 Jayco Travel Trailer, my 2003 Bombardier 400 ATV. Oh, yeah... and my house is included in this too. 1700 sq. ft (not including 1100 finished basement), 3 car garage, woodshop. I know that home insurance is quite reasonable, but it is included in my premiums. One other question that should be considered, is do they pay their claims? Or, do they try to weasel out of them. I have had VERY good luck with reputable companies.
  10. Not completely true. While I am sure that there are 'scam operations' out there, the warranty that I was sold by my dealership has paid for itself... on my Impala. I'm hoping I don't need it on my SS. If I don't use it, the company actually refunds the purchase price back to me ($1500). I didn't believe it. I took it to our lawyer that I have look over our contracts, etc., and he said it was actually true. If I use say $1000 of the warranty, I get 20% less of what the leftover is ($500 - 20% = $400) The Impala I purchased used with 20k on the clock, but it was beyond the 3 year point. Air Conditioner compressor went out, paid. Dash cluster gave some issues, paid. Stereo (which I had the dealer swap out for GM 6 disc) paid. Then, the intake gasket, paid. I've had the car for 3 years, still have 2 years of warranty left, and have more than re-couped the $800 I paid for it. And, if that's not enough, as long as I return it to my original purchase dealership, I have a disappearing deductible. I can't recall for the life of me the name of the warranty company. I could walk out into my garage, open the glove box, and look, but at 9 pm, it seems like way too much work.
  11. Uff da. Cybil Shepard is looking rough these days.
  12. I think most of that will buff right out. Yeah, I don't have any time for drinking and driving either. What really gets me are the morons that have 7 offenses. I think after 3, they should be shot. And maybe that's too liberal.
  13. Racing is the greatest, isn't it? I joined a pit crew this summer, thinking, 'oh well, I'll give it a shot.' I haven't been home on a saturday night since. The guy that I pit for is sponsored by Menards and is Paul Menard's (no. 11 in the Busch series) best friend. I'll tell ya... It was absolutely the coolest when Paul's cousin came and raced with us one weekend. They brought the big rig and trailer. It wasn't hard to pick out of the lot!!! It sat about 4 feet higher than anyone else's trailer!! We race SLM stock, but love the action all night.
  14. I've seen this one before... Still good though.
  15. These women you speak of.... do they have Adam's apples?
  16. not I... the only one that looks half decent is the 427 concept.. even parts of that truck dont do it for me... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm with ya. Right now, I'm planning on keeping my truck for years to come. If they would've made the front end look more like the Avalanche/Suburban/Tahoe, I'd a been interested. Something about the headlights/grille combo that I just don't like.
  17. I saw it, and thought the same thing... It's either lot rent, or they have to register their new home with the DMV.
  18. Yeah man, im no weakling man I benchpress 325 lbs and I had trouble taking that damn wheel off the truck man! Specially lugging it into the back of the Maxima... jesus... Were those the Cooper H/T Plus? I had looked at those, and wondered the same thing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Discoverer H\T yep... I liked the threadline and they are supposed to be a pretty good all-around tire. What do you think? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think they look pretty good too. I heard they are very good in snow, and ice as well. Kind up important up here in the north country. The cost is also attractive. I was hoping someone else had tried them here??????
  19. Were those the Cooper H/T Plus? I had looked at those, and wondered the same thing.
  20. Agreed. The other thing you touched on is the name: It seems that Chevy decides that if they need to get more sales out of a car, they throw on an SS name badge. It used to really be something when you had an SS. Now, it's wheels, and stickers. I'm wondering how long it's gonna be before we see test articles on an Uplander SS.
  21. I drove one, and granted... I'm more than a little partial. It runs like a streak of crap. It's absolutely awesome, for performance. However, there's so many little details that I didn't like. The interior feels so... cheap, and chincy. Just my opinion. But some of the Dodge boys (the honest ones) are saying the same thing. As for price, it doesn't sound too bad. The one here (new) is still at 51K, and the dealer doesn't want to drop it. He says because it's the last year, it'll be a collector item.... Yeah. Good luck with that. You have to do what you think is right for you, and your personal situation.
  22. I had that problem on my 05 GMC Sierra CC Z71. When I took it to the dealer, they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Murphy's Law, right. I knew I had seen a post about it on GM-Trucks.com. Here is the link: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...c=56114&hl=slip Hope this helps. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks! I'll take 'er in on Monday or Tuesday and see what they say.
  23. Last night, we were at a stoplight, and let off the brake, eased into the gas, and felt a jerk. So noticeable, my wife asked, 'did we just get bumped?' It didn't do it after that, at all. I bought the 100k mi extended warranty, but if it doesn't do it again, till it lets go for good, I probably can rule out a replacement until it's good and broke. I was going to pull my travel trailer down to AZ for two weeks in October, but am more than reluctant to do so, if the transmission is going out. Is this a 'fluke' thing, or is this something that's a sign of things to come?
  24. I remember my Dad turning 30 and it seemed like his world was coming to an end. He's now 58, and wishes it had. Seriously, though, I'm 31 as well, and I don't notice any difference. It just seems funny that the people I know keep getting older and older, but I don't see myself in any different light. 3 little girls keep me young, I guess.
