Attempting to post a video of first run on dyno...
-
I agree, but I'm thinking of a flat (nearly flush) recessed allen (in polished alum) would match the push button release ....when did care so much about looks? I've gone past the point of no return with this pig..... Help!! lol Thanks for admiring my insanity ;)
-
Thanks a lot! Here's pics from today. Think the bed cover bolts should be painted to match? maybe a diff type?

the exhaust will turn it 1/2 black

http://www.facebook.com/westbenddyno A few more pics - if you're not sick of this truck yet LOL

Thanks! video (hopefully by mid-dec) I was concerned about the tires being too stretched on 14"s but once dropped on the concrete I'm ok with the way they fit. Custom roll pan and front bumper cover finally painted after 6 months at the painter. lol :-) Think we should polish the exhaust alum. face plates to match the wheels?

150lbs of amps, subs and MDF box don't help ET's... Really just trying to help.
-
That is awesome! I'll have my guy mill, polish and install then post some pics... Adam, I usually head up there on Friday's but you can stop in anytime to see it.
-
I was thinking the same thing today when taking pics... You just confirmed my thoughts and thanks for the links. Done Deal. Now that this SSS may have a spot at SEMA puts it in a new light on things like that. I'm wondering if I should do SS badges or not?

"Persuading the city" Do you have floor area ratio issues relating to the lot size? Setback issue? sick build so far btw
-
Awesome build! Very nice job so far. Super clean and well thought out engineering...
-
I'll post pics next week when we have it on the pavement with tires- a true test of how this build will look... I sure hope baddass lol
-
More pics... We are shooting for completion pre-SEMA (Nov. 1) We may have a spot for it there with a vendor. Made some progress under the hood but one thing leads to another as being work being C-L-E-A-N and custom vs anything stock that doesn't look right.

Thanks! Your talking about Nick (fab guy) ...so I hear he was born into the racecar fab biz and it shows in his work. Everything he has touched on my SS has been magical. What is he 24 max? Crazy talent for his age or any age...

A few new pics... All the wiring is complete, trans in, custom two piece draftshaft is in. Waiting on wheels (Raceline Illusion 14"x 20" Rear 9"x 20" front) I don't have a pic but we went with a custom fab'd (what else?) single intake tube with a pretty trick cold air "box" (all polished alum.) More pics come soon... We modded did a Hummer consol to fit in the SS and massaged a B&M shifter into it, plus quite a few interior mods that I think most folks will like. https://www.facebook.com/pages/West-Bend-Dyno-Tuning-LLC/200534477046 The go-fast guys in WI

Sweet build-done right. I love the way a turbo pulls compared to a blower. It's so more of a rush when it hits... You have some talenetd plumbing artistry going on there. Are you just doing a drop kit for the suspension or other plans? And how you going to stop that beast?
-
Ok since we have a bullet proof Wegner LS415 so we can safely boost it pretty high. (famous last words lol) So depending on the tune/boost West Bend Dyno is expecting to see around 775 Hp at the wheels.

Ya you have a good point but there is so much room up front as the battery tray is moved to the back behind the rear axle. And for some reason I think the dual induction will look trick and my fab guy's hourly rate is very reasonable. But I do like this carbon tube a lot because I'm big on saving weight not adding it. But me knowing me, I'll probaly do something close to the aluminum plate one seen at SEMA. (below pic)
