Hey all thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it. Ok so now I'm trying to come up with a trick cold air induction system. Yeah, normallly I'm a function only guy and I know the dual set up is more than enough air, but hey I can use 1/2 size K/N conicals.

I like that a lot! I better shoot that over to my fab guy now. Thanks a ton!! It has more "finished" looki than the tear drop I had sketched out on the painters tape. I'm wondering if it could do a 90 degree inward bend where you have the straight part on the inside between the two pipes? And nice flush flat head screws vs rivets?

Did you convert your SS to 2WD? Yes SSM definately go built 4L80... Then you could boost your LS7 (maybe a Pro-Charger?) How do you like your 3200rpm stall? I'd love to see a few pics... Anyway, I had a 4L860 level 4 built by RPM Transmissions that I had built for a crate LS3 before I changed my mind went to the Wegner LS 415. I don't think it the RPM 4L60 Level 4 would last too long for anything over 600hp. So since Wegner is claiming 900 HP (boosted) @ the crank we had a 4L80 built to handle the around 800-825 HP @ the wheels. I'll sell the 4L60 level 4 CHEAP if anyone needs one. More pics...

Lithum ion battery box -kept down low... same with fuel cell. The roll pan covers both by about 2" The green tape (below) is the shape we are doing for the exhaust cut out surround - it will do a 90 degree and go inside the cut outs. Much bettter I think?

A few more... You can see how much room we have for 14"'or wider in the rear (above) with the narrowed rearend and tubbed bed with the stock wheels on it.

Absolutely no offence taken SSMT. I've learned over the years that even in the seemingly best motor build that the HP is in the tune... I too have built a motors that kill in parts spec but not tuned by a great tuner/dyno guy and had big letdown at the dyno. The engine builder and the tuner have to work together and then you get the big HP. So to counterpoint your arguement, I've found the creative process of building this SSS with a group of super talented guys has trumped owning a sports car that any guy with a good credit or cash can just buy off the showroom floor. The creative process of what this SS has evolved into over the past two years has been equally as sweet the build is turning out. I do have to admit I get a bit of anxiety every time I write a check but it's worth it. Anyway here are a few more pics I took today...

It's over time as you build it you don't realize how much you spend... I bet you've never added up your ALL receipts and you have more than you think into yours... Z06 are cool but anyone can go to a dealer and buy one. I like one of a kind builds myself.

This is the pic I sent our paint guy (We thought also a custom fab guy as required) He either didn't see the pic or just did it how he wanted to do it. The truck is being built at WBD and this guy just did the paint. I really should have had WDB fab the exhaust cut-thru. Now you guys can see my dilemma... It's not so bad re-fabing a surround to something more trick than a plain rectangle, it's that he cut the exhaust pass-thru WAY too high and the truck is painted (The paint is insanely perfect by the way - he is super talened in that dept. ) It's a much deeper, blacker paint than OEM black SSS paint. We need to design a surround that will make it look trick despite it being cut-thru so high. Any ideas out there from fresh outlook designer mind??? Thanks in advance.

It's already cut-thru and truck is painted - exhaust built. Mine is the black pic... wanna re-do the surround.

So my exhaust thru the fenders was done incorrectly by my body & paint guy. (It's cut-thru up too high, and rectangle/lame looking) It was supposed to be like the FastLane SSS. (cut thru down low in the fender) I even sent him pics! ....So now I'm stuck with the location of the cut-thru but we can remove the aluminum surround and re-do iit more GT2 like... I was thinking like this? (drawing) OR Anyone have a better idea? I'm thinking since it's cut through the SS body "flares" we could maybe CNC something out of billet and have the surrround go inside part way... LIke this one (attached photo) I'm up for anyone's ideas... Thanks in advance.

Here's a few lousy quality pics of the build so far... Motor wrapped in plastic (in truck) so I'll post pics of that beast soon.

Mid12 What hood is that? Anyone know of a roll pan that works with with an SS? Did a search here and it seems the company no longer makes one? I'm looking at $1500.00 to custom fab one and this build is already out of hand.

Ya know I know what you are saying about wrenching yourself. Totally get it and been there... I just don't have the time anymore. Plus, there are many things I would have to sub out anyway. I'm not an engine builder, custom vehicle fabricator/welder, painter, suspension expert or a mechanic. So no MID12 I'm not building the whole truck myself (does anyone?) but as the conductor of the show making the decisions on the build, I'm far from buying a truck already built. Lastly, my goal here isn't to brag but to seek advice/get opinions and if anyone shows interest post the progress. Just read your build list, that things sounds bad ass!! What hood is that?

Part of me wants to go with Pro-Street look but we've been planning this truck to handle as well. We even are running a dry sump oil system for the track, I suppose its nice to have regardless... http://www.precisionenginetech.com/tech-explained/2009/05/22/dry-sump-oil-systems/ We have everything worked thru but the wheel tire/combo. I know this won't handle but what about this look? http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/projects.php?vehicle=v4 So ya the Wegner Motorsports built blown LSX is about 900hp @ crank - so we are looking at maybe 825hp @ the wheels. If you guys really want to see pics during the SSS Build I'm sure the guys West Bend Dyno (WBD) will shoot you pics of the build so far (on Facebook) http://www.facebook.com/pages/West-Bend-Dyno-Tuning-LLC/200534477046 or request they post them here. So ya I don't get excited at matrerial things that much (if at all) but this truck is going to be insanely sick. And I'm a dumbass for spending so much cake on it but the guys at WBD are doing a killer job so far and really know what they are doing.

Hey guys, I'm building a SSS (2004), it's a 2wd conversion with Ride-tech based custom 4 link rear/front air suspension. The theme of the SS is sort of a mix of Pro-Tour/Modern Pro-Street. I'll post progess pics of the build if anyone is interested in seeing the progress. J
