  1. That's no redneck. That's a metro-sexual who deosn't know what a rake is really used for. He went back to Starbucks the next morning and told his faux-hawk haircut buddies about this cool invention to cook 15 hotdogs at once...then he complained about smelling like woodsmoke, and it possibly ruining his suede jacket. ...but that's just one man's opinion, I could be wrong. Hehe... - Brian
  2. So did you guys kill a few LS1 motors in testing? It was hinted to in the thread on the other forums I mentioned before (link is below)...but I was unsure if that was the case. Plus, the pics looked like an LS...well, based on the intake manifold (???). Here's the thread, with pics: http://forums.freshalloy.com/showthread.php?t=152021 - Brian
  3. Were you driving a yellow S13 240SX with a LSx motor??? I saw a buildup of that cart over on one of the Nissan Forums I'm on. Either way, cool stuff...congrats on the win! - Brian
  4. I meant it has the better pump housing...more thrust than the '00-02 1200R's, and the '03-04 1300R's. Older GPR guys are swapping to the '05-and-up pump setup for more top speed. ...and mine sucks down gas, too. I think that it gets ~5mpg if I take it easy...MUCH worse if I'm WOT. Will do. - Brian
  5. I have no real info for you, but... I like the idea of a recessed one...and black diamond plate would be best. Functional, and it won't ruin the look. Go for it. - Brian
  6. Tim, AWESOME. I have a GP1200R...same hull, basically...but 15 less HP. Is that an '05 or '06...??? If so - It has the better pump, too. Not turbo...it's a 2-stroke (all the supercharged SeaDoo's and turbo'd Hondas are 4-stroke motors) The GP1300R has a 1300cc fuel injected 2-stroke...does ~67mph stock (the speedo's always read high - My 1200 reads ~74 on the speedo, but it's a true 64-65mph via GPS). ... Anyway, congrats...we DEFINITELY need to meet up and go wave jumping at Matanzas. - Brian
  7. Actually, it is true...as tested on "Mythbusters" That guy Adam licked a petri dish...and they had a dog lick one. A day or 2 later, the one the dog licked had 1/10th the bacteria growing in it!!! [/offtopic] - Brian
  8. Keep in mind...this is the other way around. GM needs the help from Nissan. Nissan is currently solid, thanks to Ghosn. GM is hurting...but sounds like they will both benefit. - Brian
  9. Thanks for the heads-up...I'll be sure to watch. ... 9pm on SPEED Channel. http://www.speedtv.com/pinks/
  10. I usually start it with my foot on the floor, and let it bounce off the limiter a few times to make sure she's purr'in. As long as it sounds allright, I'll rev-n-drop it into reverse and do an AWD reverse burnout as I leave the driveway. Sometimes I loose control and have to whip it around in the yard, slam it into D, and haul ass out of there. Is that bad for the motor...should I let it warm up more? ... Idling too long is BAD for your motor...start it, maybe let it wamr up for 30-sec or so, and drive normally until the oil is up to temp. Without a temp gauge, just wait twice as long as it take to the get the coolant up to temp. - Brian
  11. (Maybe not safe for work...due to language) Hehe...this is mindless and pointless, but it made me laugh...A LOT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKSUt8yY7Q8 Hehe... Enjoy! - Brian
  12. Stock offset is 27mm...and offset is 100% dependant on width, so keep that in mind. What size are you looking for, specifically what WIDTH? PCD is 6X5.5 (inches), or 6X139.7 (millimeters) Hope that's a start for you... - Brian
  13. ...add a built trans to that, for reliability. - Brian
  14. The sound is just awesome...video is great. Thanks. - Brian
  15. I would NEVER run anything other than full synthetic oil (Mobil 1 wins for cost and availability, IMO). And I'd be happy that I got a deal. Just never go bak there, and do your own damn oil changes form now on!!!! Saves $$$, only takes 15 minutes! - Brian
  16. Same here... Attachments will not show properly using Firefox. ??? - Brian
  17. Hot-n-humid... It might only be mid-90's, but 95% humidity...so you'll just sweat and sweat...it never really dries to cool you off. Just drink lots of water, you'll be fine. They have small fans in the waiting lines at the theme parks, but when you're surrounded by 200 people, it's just hot. But Florida is beautiful and a great place to visit...not to mention live. Do yourself a favor and do some non-tourist things...so if you want to hit the beach, drive the extra 45 minutes as to SKIP Daytona beach, and go North to Crescent Beach / Matanzas...much nicer IMO. Etc, etc... - Brian
  18. Mine is shiny black...but I kinda like the flat look, it's a nice contrast on your black truck. - Brian
  19. . ..with a Krispy Kreme gift certificate inside. Hehe... (Sorry, couldn't resist...!)
  20. This was posted on another forum I'm on, with a link to a few more vids... Check this out: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=56...7&q=mentos+coke "Diet Coke + Mentos ROCKET!!!" - Brian
  21. Here's my .02...FWIW, I manage 3 independent health clubs (the business end), but I don't regularly work out. I'm a business guy who happens to work for a health club...not a healthy guy who's learned the business of gyms. But what I do know: 1) Protein, creatine, supplements, etc...you don't need them in this stage of your workout. You need a good, balanced diet...a multivitamin...and you need to know how many calories your body needs ona daily basis. 2) Find a gym around you and do a "metabolic test", or "RMR test" (resting metabolic rate). It'll tell you how many calories your body needs at rest, like if you laid on the ouch all day. Once you know that, then you can determine how much to eat to lose weight, bulk up, whatever...but it's kind of the bottom floor IMO. And remember, one pound is 3500 calories...so if your RMR tells you that you burn 2200 calories a day...and you burn an additonal 500 at the gym...you need to eat 2700 to maintain, more to bulk up, and less to lose weight. Easy stuff. If you have 20lbs to lose...you'll lose a quick 5-8lbs when you first start, maybe in the first 2 weeks...then you're limited to maybe 2lbs per week (doing it the healthy way). That's a 500 calorie deficit per day to lose 1lb per week...or based on my example above, 2200 calories a day, but you'll burn those extra 500 per day by working out. ... And this isn't for a "diet" in the "girly" sense...this is more important than most body builders chose to accept. And you can't cheat it. Aside from doing the actual work, the ONLY thing that matters is "Calories in, calories out" ... Supplements have their place, but not if you're just starting. And some are better than others. Creatine may work for that big-ass guy at the gym counter, but not for you. And DO NOT trust the average GNC worker...they know how to sell you expensive stuff to make commission - Not what YOU need, specifically. ... My only "reccomendation" is pick a workout schedule, and stick to it. If you're not seeing results fast enough, DO NOT just try something else, then switch the next week again, etc...you can't rush this. Your body can't be tricked into growing faster or slower. 90% of your results are gonna be based on your individual make up...so thank your parents for that. The other 10% can be influenced...but there's no magic pill, powder, or shake. ... Anyway, food for thought. - Brian
  22. Yeah, he was LUCKY. He was doing ~120mph or so...the bumps in the road threw the rear end of the car up in the air once, and he started to slide...but countersteered and kept going another hundred feet... Then he hit the big bump...countersteered LEFT to stay straight, hit another bump, the car changed direction in the air...and when it landed, it just went right where the wheels were pointed...off the road. ... ...and FWIW - It wasn't just a regular Viper...that was a Hennessey Venom 650R. Ouch.
  23. That clip is part of a larger video by the guys at IMV Films ( www.imvfilms.com ). Those guys filming are all good personal friends of mine...Jimmy (driver), Sav (passenger, camera #1), Rasa (back seat, camera #2), and Davian (the red haired guy). They were hired by the Viper driver ( Jerry, aka "Torquenstein" ) to film his Gumball experience...sadly, it ended with that crash. He was OK...a short hospital stay, then a transport out of the country and to the Gumball finish party...he was walking around with the rear bumper of the Viper as a "trophy"...hehe. They don't have that DVD for sale YET...but it's coming. Here's the original movie trailer: http://www.torquenstein.net/movies/imv/Tea...Scumballers.wmv ^^^ PLEASE RIGHT CLICK, SAVE AS... ^^^ ........... Oh, and for you Hummer fans, check out their Hummer DVD... "Moab, Like Nothing Else" Trailer: IMVFilms-Moab-LikeNothingElse-Preview.wmv ^^^ PLEASE RIGHT CLICK, SAVE AS... ^^^ That one is availbe for sale at: http://www.imvfilms.com/moab.php - Brian
