  1. I race it on Sundays...or Saturday. Whatever day the event is on... . . . - Brian
  2. Replacement oil drain plug for a Honda - You can get one at Napa for $3. Been through this before with my 240SX, needed a plug for the wideband O2 hole. - Brian
  3. Cool car...it's a replica, I assume? Here's another "replica", going over a sweet jump. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBEN3eubDnQ Hehe... - Brian
  4. Just for clarification, 2.5" ID...but the pipe is closer to 2.75" OD. If you're ordering clamps or flanges, that might be helpful. ^^^ Ha...I quoted you. - Brian
  5. Then answer to your question, lies within the question itself. [/confucius] ... Can't go wrong with Blistein...good price, VERY well built, and GREAT performance. Go mine off eBay for $259 shipped, or maybe it was $279 shipped...??? - Brian
  6. I have 'gunmetal' 20" Weld EVO wheels on my red SSS...I love the look: - Brian
  7. How wide of a wheel? Offset is 100% dependent on width. - Brian
  8. Cool girl...congrats. ... My wife surprised me by paying off my truck...! Only had a few payments left, so she went ahead and knocked out the loan balance, just brought me home a receipt as a present. Gotta love that...and her!!! - Brian
  9. Static compression ratio is a big part of it, at least with respect to the timing. 8.5:1 on the Cobra, versus 10:1 on our trucks. Higher compression is MUCH more detonation prone, so the timing has to be a lot more conservative. Same goes for the boost...well, the IAT's. They can get away with hotter IAT's and not detonate, due to the lower static CR. ... That's not your whole answer, but it's a big part of the overall equation. - Brian
  10. Around here, only Autozone sells Mobil 1 filters. - Brian
  11. ^^^ Yep! I looked online for pics of these, to see if I could find any painted / powdercoated pics... Only thing I found was a project truck for one of the offroad magazines, which had these in 18"...powdercoated maroon (?). Otherwise, nothing. - Brian
  12. Line-X seems to be the preferred one, from everything I read. I have Line-X, and am very happy. Cost a little over $400, IIRC. - Brian
  13. I have a Red Top...and it rocks. Have had one in my track car (road course) for close to 9 years / 75,000 miles (yeah, it's heavy for this purpose)...but it still does great. Not as good as when new, but amazing for a 9 year old battery. I run an underdrive pulley, so it underdrives the alternator...and the battery has been taking that abuse for it's whole life (supplementing the alt.). Anyway, can't say enough good things about the Red Top for a normal 'starting' battery. Spend $155-160 ONCE, or buy 2-3 batteries in that same time span. Your choice! - Brian
  14. Thanks guys...I'm really happy with the result. I'm gonna stick with stock taillights...and the stock height. I use the truck too much as a truck for a drop, and I like the red-on-red tails (If the truck were black, I'd tint the tails). ... One other thing I've noticed after putting a few more miles on it...the ride is a TON smoother. Bumps that used to upset the chassis before - It just floats over them now. Wheel weight is SO important...better gas mileage, better ride, faster acceleration. - Brian
  15. First and foremost, here's the money shot: ... I picked these up here on the forums a while back, before Christmas...well used, and in need of reconditioning. They are Weld Evo 'Axis 6' wheels...20x8.5, +22 offset. Basically the same size as stock. However, they are SUPER LIGHT...as in, 14lbs lighter than stock, PER WHEEL (the stock wheels are right at ~39lbs each, and these are 25lbs each). They were in rough shape - Chrome was peeling off pretty bad, and I don;t like chrome anyway. See below: So I had them stripped / sandblasted / powdercoated a custom color...metallic gunmetal, metallic dark gray...whatever you want to call it. They came out looking AWESOME. I love the new look. Here's a before and after for you: - - - - Well...comments, criticism, anything?
  16. Use a new, sharp razor blade...just any standard razor knife / utility knife will do. If it begins to get hard to cut, swap to a new blade. It's pretty easy to cut the fan shroud...just go slow, and make sure it doesn;t get away from you. Slow, and with a little pressure. - Brian
  17. ^^^ Agreed...try new shocks. I really like my Bilsteins...they are firmer, but the ride is better. Sounds contradictory...but it's better than stock, in every way. - Brian
  18. Intercooler makes WAY more sense for a street truck. Call a local performance shop...see what they might charge to make some piping, and mount and intercooler behind the grille. I'd run a bend out of the charger, and around the radiator...to the front of the truck. In one side of the intercooler (the cheap-o eBay bar-and-plate intercoolers have been proven to be pretty good for the $$$)...then out, around the drivers side of the radiator, and to the throttlebody. ...that is, if there's room for the pipes. Looks like it. - Brian
  19. 2 Short --- Get in where you fit in... Eight-ball and MJG --- Lyrics of a PIMP ... Do it, DO it...! - Brian
  20. That was at a local autocross...a few guys I race with were there. The guy was SOLD THE WRONG LUGNUTS... Something like 7/16-20 lugs...but the car uses 12x1.25 nuts. They are almost the same pitch...he even torqued them! A good friend of mine borrowed his TQ wrench when the owner was done changing wheels (race tires). What everyone speculates is...that the nuts could take the load of only ~80ft/lbs when torqued...but not the load when he started driving. What I can;t believe is...that all 4 fell off! One or 2, OK. But what a failure! It supposedly took close to an hour to get the car off the ground...they put his stock wheels back on, and he finished the event. The nuts stripped, the studs were fine. Exhaust and 'frame rails' were all scraped up, but that was it. ... BTW, reads the comments on MySpace...what f-in idiots. - Brian
  21. Hey, that's my neck-o-the-woods!If you have any questions about the area, let me know...been here +4 years, like it alot.(Or if you need a rental house, I have one in the Fleming Island area...hehe) - Brian...Oh, nice truck. Always liked the Denali.
  22. That's roughly 1/2" further out as compared to stock. Stock wheels are 20x8.5, +27 Yours are going to be 20x8.5, +14 Difference of 13mm, or 1/2" Less offset (lower number) = further out ... With stock size tires, I think you'll be fine. Hope that helps - Brian
  23. It's the only one that will fit your truck, in NE Florida. I think my truck was the one that turned them off of full-size, AWD trucks...here's a few pics of when I dyno'd there a month or so back: http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...p;p=451161& There's one pic, you can see how tight the fit was...the fornt wheel was only on ONE of the front rolers! As for their tuning...Ford, Chevy, whatever...if you understand the art of tuning, you can tune pretty much anything. The guys at Stage 6 are doing a BIG turbo'd Tahoe right now, so they are familair with Chevy/GM stuff. ... I see you're form Valdosta...so you might have options north of you, in the ATL...? ??? - Brian
  24. Got mine a few months back...they are a HUGE upgrade over stock. (My SS is also an '03...so have no worries about fitment) Here's a thread with a little more info, and a few pics / install tips. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...amp;hl=bilstein - Brian
  25. I'm with you...same deal. dun-dunk. dun-dunk. dun-dunk. Over and over. ... I assume this is a known issue? I thought I was the only one. I planned on pulling the dash and investigating soon, but haven't gotten around to it. - Brian
