  1. brad, for the price dr vinyl charges, i would just pay him, save the headache. he told me DO NOT pull the factory cloth off. it makes it easier for him. its the dr vinyl on beaver up in Johnston. 25 bucks a side to me is not worth it, spend your time drinkin a brew or tweakin something else instead of swearing cuss words and praying you dont jab yourself with a screwdriver. and by theway, he told me a credit card works were to push the cloth in that seam.

The more I think about it- if you left the factory cloth ON, a credit card might not work that bad- it wouldn't be so hard to get in the slot. I'd rather just use the credit card to pay Chris' guy though!

  2. After talking with you while you were doing yttaf's, I think I'll be grinding down a spare screwdriver to make a better tool to get the material in the groove a little easier. Hopefully that will help the process along... I actually didn't think his looked bad at all, just looked harder than it needed to be to poke the material into the seam.

Actually, I have a plastic tool we used to put vinyl graphics on our trucks and trailers- I'm anxious to see how it works tucking the fabric in the slit. I think it'll work tons better than a screwdriver- might keep it from getting wavy.

  3. I wasn't charging ytaff for his visors- just killing time and giving me something to do. Chris and Cory were busy with other stuff so I figured why not. I think brents turned out ok when I did them. For some reason the black showed more than the charcoal color does and I wasn't happy with the seams.

After seeing how good chris' visors look- it's well worth the money to have them "professionally" done. I don't have visors back in my truck... so I don't care. It's worth the money though if you want the visors done.

As for the paint- everyone knows theres more than 1 way to skin a cat... (isn't that how the saying goes?) The cool thing is- we can all collaborate on here and find out what works the best. I've only met 1 person who thought he was a genious... I'll leave that alone. ANYWAYS!!!

I will say that if there is anyone in the midwest area that's in the market for a headliner- Chris does a PHENOMINAL job- and the price is even better. I agree with Chris about people being charged close to $1,000.00. Just do a search on here and you'll see.

I think aside from chris' headliner- mine has been done for the 2nd longest (from the ones we've done, I'm certainly not the 2nd person on the forum with a suede headliner) (I just wanna make that clear) and I haven't had a single issue- not even any paint to touch up.

  4. hey in the that signature pic. is there a center cap missing ?? :yellow_loser: just joking, glad we got to meet.. we need to set up a stock truck race soon... see if my black beauty can beat your Red Slut... lolol

I swear, if the center cap that Chris found for me turns out to be a no go, I'm gonna put my stock wheels back on!!! :tear:

I'm already ready for another Iowa GTG! Maybe one where it doesn't snow :) I still had a blast. I was glad everyone still made it out with the weather. I woke up from the hotel Sat. morning to like an inch of slush... the first thing I asked Chris was "who's not coming" Anyways- lets plan round 2!

  5. the T/A is wicked sick fast too.. I personally rode in it at the speedway drag strip.. But hey an AWD SS thats wicked fast is all good and its a truck ... lots of horsepower there.. cant wait to see it on the track... DJ you did miss a good time, there is going to be plenty of get togethers this summer, we will keep you posted for sure.. more Black SS's there then Red.. lolol

The more black the better... they just make us red ones that much better lookin!!! :)

  6. we had 35 degree weather, snow and rain all day. my garage has no man door but we still were able to get a suede headliner done, a remote starter/alarm installed, an oil change, an intake change, 2 trucks tinted, another suede headliner done, a street sceens grill done, 4 high beam mod and AN EXHAUST FIXED! (sorry brent)

it was a great time, alot of people, (way more than i expect considering the weather) and a crap load of food. here are some pics. enjoy...

You just HAD to throw a pic in with no center cap... :banghead: I see how it is :)

  7. that would about put me back to stock then I'd look like PDB's truck :D

Hey now! While workin on your headliner... I'm gonna have access to a glue gun and a REALLY large jug of glue. Don't push your luck :nono::jester: hehe.

I'm usually only invited to GTG because it lets people see how the SSS comes stock- it's all good. I will say too that every Chicago GTG I've been to the weather has been horrible. I think I'm bad luck!

  8. If it doesnt snow too bad and I can still make it, I will also be bringing HPTuners in case anyone wants to play. I KNOW! We can compare a Black SS tune to a Red SS tune, and finally figure out what makes the black ones faster......

    that's a good one! I can't wait till Sat. now :)

  9. If people don't show up it will be fine, just keep the meat in your truck. It will be cold enough. :banghead:

Ok, I got like 40 pre-maid burgers, 24 hot dogs, 10 cheesy brats, and like 15 polish snausages. I think that should be enough- if I need to get more let me know.

CCC23- I know you said chips wasn't enough- so maybe some hot dog & hamburger buns too??? I can get em if not. Let me know.

  10. I have a heater as well. we should be ok. i have no prob hangin in the house if you all want as well. I know i will be in the garage most of the day, especially if this rain keeps up and if it gets colder, well then we will be screwed!

Cool. I'll plan on like 20 people then. I'll make sure theres more than enough stuff!

  11. My girlfriend has an 05 equinox lt with the awd. They are a pretty decent little thing to drive. The interior is good but not excellent. the awd is really nice, especially for south dakota weather. In town she usually gets anywhere between 15 to 18 mpg, on the highway she gets 20 to 22, depends on wind and all other factors. they are pretty decent for room on the inside. enough room for 5 people, 4 is more comfortable, and alot of cargo in the back.

All in all a decent ride.

    just my .02

Thanks! I'm gonna go drive it later tonigth if it's still available.
