  1. two twelves ported under our seats would be almost impossible to do and still have them sound good or reach full potential. Your best bet is to go with one twelve and use 2+ft3 airspace available under the seat and port it based on that. If you go to caraudio .com and search around for silverado projects there is a guy that did one twelve ported and it flexes everything in his truck. I am also in the process of building a single twelve box ported with overall 2.2cuft tuned to 32hz. This was after researching ported set-ups for hours in our trucks and this is really the only ported option that seems logical.

  2. you can use 3m double sided tape, I just had to do this with my driver side door where the cladding loosened up and when i opened the door in folded back half the cladding. Somehow I was able to work the slight crease out before re-doing it.

Ok guys round 2, the Z2 is back up for sale. I sold it over the weekend to a guy locally and his buddy was to install it. Oh yeah, his buddy is a professional installer by the way. I get a call today saying the unit is no good and it won't boot up. I go and meet the guy and buy it back off him because I stand behind my sales. I told him over the phone to do the firmware update but his Pro Installer Buddy said that wouldn't be the issue. It was the ribbon inside the unit. I buy it back, go home, rip my entire dash apart, pull out the D3 and hook the Z2 up, do the firmware update and no shit, it works perfectly fine.

So it is back up for sale, and this time when it sells I will not be playing the waiting game for some moron to hook it up and tell me my items I sell are bad and they want there money back. I will take a pic of it powered on tomorrow for proof with the date and my forum handle. I'm not an installer by any means and prob couldn't even wire in a full stereo using all the colored wires but I can figure this out and the PRO can't.

Sorry for the rant but having to buy back the unit I sold and not use the money elsewhere needed pisses me off to no end. So its up for grabs AGAIN.

  4. Z2 is gone, come on people, throw some offers out there, I want to get rid of the rest!!!!!

I will trade off the two D3's for a single sub that is 600-800wrms just in case. Prefer a twelve but i have another box I am building now that I can throw whatever size sub in.

  5. chances are each chamber are a lot smaller than what you need. I believe the CVR's need a min of 1cuft per side and I can tell you its not as easy as one thinks to pull out that much room under the seat. I just built a box because the subthump box I have is way to small for my diamond audio D3's. Most prefab boxes spec out the same and are around .8cuft if that. The box i just built is wider, longer and higher than the subthump box and right now I am at 2.2cuft. If i were to to change the box up by placing the top piece of MDF within the sides of the box and screwing it in my overall box volume would drop down to 1.83cuft and thats by just changing the height 3/4 of an inch. Take some inside measurements of the box and post them up and we can tell you where you sit with space per chamber. I bet you are running to small and because of that your subs are prob a little more poppy sounding and don't get low and constant. The place that sold you the box is basically telling you to crank the gains up to compensate for the smaller airspace. Less airspace needs more power, more airspace needs less.

Another option is ditch one sub and knock out the divider in the box and seal up the other side and put an aero port in there. That would get your one twelve bumping a lot harder than trying to get the two to work together in that box.

Do not try to port that box as it sits, it will just make things worse.

  6. I can get some pics of it as it sits, i will try to hook it up and get power to it to show the screens as well but with it being 110+ degrees here thats gonna be a few days at least till I can do it at night or early AM. It comes with the factory harnesses. Theres three of them (power and two different RCA sets) also has the GPS antenna with it. When you say firmware upgrade, which one are you talking about? The one that give it the Z3 maps and everything? I'm not sure truthfully but I know you can download them directly off pioneers website or avic411.

I will also throw in all the extra wiring from the Chrysler 300, its not much but its extra.

  7. TTT

I also have an Avic Z2 for $550 shipped. It was used for a little bit in a buddies 300. Money got tight and I took it off his hands. No scratches on the unit or anything. I don't have the box but have the manuals and all the wiring. Orig date of unit is 07. Kind of odd cause he bought it in late 08. There is even the steering wheel control for the 300 as well included. I was debating throwing this thing in my SS but the D3 is back in for now till I get a straight buyer and then I'm going back to single din basics.

    Lets make a deal.

Pioneer AVIC D3, works perfectly fine. I basically use it now for my IPOD and not the NAV or anything so don't really need all the crap that comes with this unit. $450. 10. it really all depends on when and where for me. Labor day is no go, will be in Vegas, beginning of Aug, maybe. My schedule has been so crappy lately I don't even get out for myself. Depending when everyone can even meet and the weather I would have no problem even having it at my place and we can cook out and hit the pool all day, just a warning though, the dog will prob bite ya but then she will become your best friend. Try to see when it works best for everyone and I can try to plan around it.

  11. I never had any issues in the dunes out my way, gordons, glamis, buttercup etc. It would prob be best you use a tire/rim set-up like the spare is cause the wide 20's aren't the best. As long as you keep going and don't stop is the really soft stuff you will be fine. I pulled a 20ft flatbed trailer back to comp hill with no issues the one time.

  12. Dude, don't even sweat the photo ticket, no one pays them anyway. Make them actually serve you and do their friggin job for once. Who's name is the G6 in? If its your girls name all she has to say is it wasn't her driving anyhow. I wouldn't think twice about disregarding the photo shot, hell I have several times as well as everyone else I know out here. The ticket where you actually got busted is the one to focus on.

  13. I posted some pic's in the V-Max/VHO thread: Link

Why are you boycotting Cali? LOL! You should just be boycotting San Francisco. ;)

I'm not quite sure on the boycott all I know is Cali is boycotting AZ because of a few laws getting passed so i figured I would return the favor. It was more a joke but welcome to the site again and nice pics

  14. I am on my third set-up, first was a MTX thunderform single 10" (sounded the best) next were two Arc Audio 12' in a subthump ultra deep (sounded Ok but not enough) and now there are two Diamond Audio D3's. They sound ok but don't have enough air to really get low and loud. I have a Cadance amp pushing 800wrms at 4ohm so power should be plenty. I think i am going to go back down to a single sub and use the whole length of under the seat to do a ported box.

SSsilverado, what is the stealth box you installed? It doesn't look like JL Audio's Version from what i remember......
