  1. Strictly LM bass. Fish quite a bit of tournaments.

Good stuff. I just got my pb lmb two weeks ago on a small bluegill swim bait, it went a little over six pounds. Lets see some pics of the next bass tourny. I do alot of fishing here, ocean and lots of freshwater. Next month I am going to Baja for three weeks I will post some pics of that trip.

  2. Inspect the o-ring on the pickup tube very carefully if you haven't already replaced it. They can tear or crack causing no pressure. I have had a Corvette do this. I also had a 2007 Tahoe with 300 miles on it that the pressure relief valve in the oil pump stuck open but you ruled that out with the new pump. Good luck.

I did just that and that was the problem. Oil was flowing back into the pan. I changed the o-ring but after talking to Rex there were a few diffrent colors so I tried one last time and it solved the problem. The oil pressure is better than before, and no engin tear down.

  3. I'm so sorry to here about your phone and the fishing trip, I feel your pain so much my old 2-stroke was a pile. I went out fishing thursday, had a killer day on the striper bite and left my new dig camera on the bed cover, and I just put a 2gb card in it :banghead: . But what can you do?

Good kill on the stang though:thumbs: , nothing worse than loosing a race when your already fired up.

Better luck next time on the fishing.

  4. Take a magnet and see how much of it (if any) is iron/steel, and how much is brass/copper... My opinion: metal shavings (especially if non-magnetic) + consistent oil pressure problems = teardown for inspection. :shakehead:

MORE: At this point I would not jack with it, I would get a dealer involved because your truck is less than 3 years old and there is no way the engine should be eating itself, they should replace the motor. Which means you're going to have to put the factory intake back on.

    Mr. P.

    I was afraid of that.

  5. Are you hearing any odd noises from the engine..With that low of oil pressure (if it really is that low, and that gauge is not reading incorrectly) you would hear some noise from the engine, chattering or a knocking noise..

Yes, when I first start the truck you can hear it chattering till the oil pressure builds. Today it took about three or four sec. for the oil to pump. Can it be a spun cam bearing even if I have the stock one? The truck runs normal when the oil pressure is warm. Any ideas? Can it have something to do with the radix?

  6. The truck has been sitting for about six hours since I drove it last. I just went to go start it and it is doing the same thing. No oil pressure till I give it a little gas over 1k rpm. I push the gas down for 30 sec. and the oil pressure is just shy of the red and slowly climbs up as the motor heats.

  7. Got everything installed late this afternoon. It was the oil pump after all, I am so glade it wasn't any worse. The new pump does have more pressure than the stock pump but not much.

Ok, it looks like I opened my mouth too soon. The truck ran great yesterday, had some fun on the streets, I thought everything was fine. This morning I go to start the truck and I watch the oil gauge, its right above the red and then the "low oil pressure" on the cluster. I give it a little gas and the oil pressure comes back up but it doesn't do it on its own till it warmed up. When it started to warm up it runs well above 40:banghead:. I just don't know whats going on.

  8. not gonna cause me to change. my wife filled mine up once unknowingly with 87 and it pinged like crazy. id rather dump a new fuel pump in it every so often than run the risk of serious internal engine damage running lower than 91 octane fuel.

I put 87 octane in my ss one time being stupid and didn't notice till it was just about full. The truck pinged and pinged till I added two bottles of lucas octane booster to bring it up. I think you would do much more damage driving around with the pinging motor. I never had a problem with my fuel pump and it was in there for almost 60k.
