i wouldn't recomend the 4L80E if you're planning to get rid of the truck soon. if i recall the reason you wanted the 427 is because you plan to get rid of the truck soon. that's alot of conversion for something on it's way out.

making some changes to the post. shift kit: servo's: where did you get your kit? who installed it for you? uses of the truck? what torque converter do you have? any other transmission modifications you have done/had done to your truck... sometimes it's hard to find a location near you to have transmission work performed or find where to order them from. if you don't have one yet, this is a good place to ask opnions on what to use and how hard an insall was or how the service was at the shop you had it done yet. (no direct advertising, but mentioning a name and location will cover it).

as for the police tahoe programming, no that won't work since they won't have the 6.0 to my knowledge. hopefully they'll just have a higher speedo for future swaps.

the police package for the impala is limited to 130 due to overheating conditions at high speeds. here's a bit of reading on it. tahoe topic

one of my more recent conversations with gm's technical assistance referred to this and a fix is supposed to be made soon. i'll look for something on it for you also.

it is a bit odd that they weren't numbered since most other special production vehicles were, but possibly because there were released mid year which would have made it more difficult to pick a numbering system not used along with not knowing how many would be built. if it had been the beginning of the year or even if they had known how many were being produced they probably could have set a certain number of vin's aside specificly for the ss. just my thought on it, anyone else?
