  1. well i just put in my stock 4482 borgwarner case and the noise is gone. the noise was constant under power. it didn't speed up with engine or vehicle speed. there wasn't much slack in the chain.
  2. where can we get a replacement viscous coupler? i see them for sale all day long for the jeep nv 249. is there a chance its the same coupler? 249 just means two speed vise our 149 single speed. i'm having this loud pop pop pop pop under power. i was told its probably the viscous coupler.
  3. the borg warner has an open diff to transmit power. the truck uses a 4 channel abs system to sense wheel slip and applies the brakes to the wheel and forces the t-case to transfer power. the t-case itself does not need to sense wheel speed differences due to the truck useing the 4 channel abs. if you don't have the abs you'll do some awesome front wheel burn outs (when it unloads) but thats about it. this why i ditch mine and went to the 149 case. their not very strong either.
  4. yes its AWD with the nv149 case. it just kinda chirps a little on tight turns. i may need an alignment lol. you can't really feel it in the steering wheel either.
  5. when i turn sharp my tires bark a little. like when trying to park. is this normal the the nv149? with my borg warner it didn't do this. at least i don't remember it. it still turns sharp not like 4hi would feel. i wasn't sure if i should put this in transmission/transfer-case section or suspension so i put it in both.
  6. torque management doesn't engage in very low throttle tight turns.
  7. when i turn sharp my tires bark a little. like when trying to park. is this normal the the nv149? with my borg warner it didn't do this. at least i don't remember it. i wasn't sure if i should put this in transmission/transfer-case section or suspension.
  8. the suspension is all stock. i was running the ls6 cam before. i ran a best of 12.89 with a 5-6psi boost launch. sunday i ran a 12.85 with no boost and a bog on the launch. then with a 5-6psi launch i knocked off a 12.33. so i think the new cam did good. only real change is i went from 2wd back to awd. 60ft is about the same.
  9. my goal is like 11.99 then done!
  10. how does it drive on the street? i want to put some of these on, but i daily drive this thing and it can be a bit swirly on the street. can you feel it if the suspension tries to unload over a bump or anything like that?
  11. anybody have any good threads on limit straps for the front?
  12. the wifey was a bit surprised. but my 2 year old daughter was cheering me on!! lol
  13. i made it to the track today. it was kinda sunny and hot but the hoe did pretty good. with the cam swap it ran faster on a no boost launch then it did before with a 5-6psi launch. the last run of the day was the best. i wanted to go one more good time but i didn't wanna push my luck. so with out further ado here is the video. http://www.streetfire.net/video/turbo-taho...0mph_741849.htm i have to say torque steer is a mother. i need limit straps to keep my front end down. oh yeah and it weighed in a 6020. 3/4 tank of gas. speaker box and all but the left far rear seat in the truck.
  14. see mine did awesome in the snow too. i ran 2wd all winter long. even through the blizzard that came through here in Maryland. i mean it wasn't Maine snow by any means but it was alot of snow and they did great. only real issue i had was getting into my parking spot after the stupid plow came through.
  15. enjoy front wheel burn outs. that case will only transfer power if the brakes are applied to the wheels that are spinning. which is the reason i went to a 149 case.
  16. its cool, i made a thread in the drivetrain section if you wanna chime in. that way its not just my word on it.
  17. i searched around and didn't see a thread on this. i got an answer but i thought I'd make a thread anyway in-case anyone else ran into this. i replaced my front output shaft seal today. the inner portion is a very tight fit over the output shaft. and it spins with the shaft while the outer portion stays still. my question was is it suppose to do this. the answer i received was yes it is. just good info to have if you have to install one your self.
  18. well i'll make a thread then. not sure about the newb part. looks like i joined 3 days after you did. i just don't post much here. its cool no worries.
  19. well everybody yell about do a search first. if i reply in an old thread it shows i did a search instead of starting a new thread. thanks for the answer though. i feel better now, i was like WTF while i was installing the thing.
  20. just wondering here but did the inner part of that seal spin with the output shaft? or did you even pay attention? i ask cause i replaced mine today and the seal was a very very tight fit over the shaft. and the inner spins on the outer portion.
  21. i guess these are just such an improvement over my stock 17" wheel/tire combo, that i thought these were very very good tires.
