  1. Love the truck, however, I'm not a fan of that style bumper. I know its a new body style so they adapt the bumper to the rest of the truck, just not feelin the vents on it. Other than that it is purely awesome. I liked the interior though. Unlike our crappy stock SS seats that without a headrest, you would assume its a regular silverado....

  2. is it the sending unit that is inside the engine bay and close to the firewall? if so i changed mine and i can look what size socket i used

Yes Sir, I know the socket size, however, there is a threaded fitting that goes inside the oil pressure sending unit that needs to be hooked up to the autometer tubing for it to work.

I have on on my chevelle BBC but I am no help cause i am not home sorry. Can you take it down to the store and match it up??

I guess , but that means I would have to remove the entire sending unti, not just the sensor.

  3. So my autometer oil pressure gauge is all wired up, however the only thing I need to know is what is the size of the oil pressure sending unit ? I need to get a fitting that will go in there to complete my gauge install. I've looked all over and had no luck. Thanks

Its an 03 Silverado SS 6.0L AWD.

  4. Hey Bill, I'm very sorry to hear that man. Were you able to get any momentos out (besides the parts) ? Pictures etc? I know this must be tough for you, but from the way you made it sound, you have a positive attitude in the worst of times, that is the best possible thing you can have when going through something like this. Again, I am sorry to hear this , hope everything works out for you in the best.

  5. True story, I would love to line up with a lightning (I know I would lose) but I would like to see how far off I am.

Although, if anyone remembers my incounter with that SRT10 Ram 6spd where the guy couldnt drive and I took him from 0-70 then he passed me....ANYTHING can happen on the street....now I'm gonna find that thread cause some guy was trying to say it was impossible.

I see this thread has been moved.

  6. Ok guys, I've been reading up lately and asking some people for their advice on this topic. I have it narrowed down that I want to do a 2/4. Now, there are many kits to choose from and I have a question concerning 2 kits I have my eye on.

    First: Direct from Mcgaughys

2004+ SS TRUCK OR 4WD WITHOUT WELDED HANGER

    PN 33041

2/3.5 DROP KIT WITH KEYS, SHACKLE HANGER

    2 OR 4WD

    $250 shipped

    PN 11004

2/3.5 DROP KIT WITH SPINDLES, SHACKLE HANGER

    2 OR 4WD

    $410.00 shipped

    Now DJM:

2/4 : Keys in the front, shackles/ hangers in the back w/ carrier bearing

    $313.00 shipped.

I am saving round $100 by going with the keys setup however, I would rather spend the $ for it to be the best than cut corners cause its cheaper. So besides the ride quality, what is the disadvantage of the keys over the spindles?

Lookin for some advice here and opinions/ differences / advantages of one kit over the other. Thanks.

  7. I think its all personal preference. I happen to like a clean look, not too flashy so Iwent with American Racing RT-S rims. Another of my favorites is the Eagle Alloy 064's I believe. They also look really good. Like I said though, its all preference. I'd suggest searching with the search button and enter different rims you are looking at to see if anyone has posted pics with them on their truck. Or just type in rims and there should be a good amount of pics to help you out.

BTW, this topic probably belongs in the apearance section , a moderator will prob move it soon to give you the heads up. Good luck in you're search.

  8. Yeah, I own an SS, but I don't consider it a "performance truck".

I personally would rather see it lifted rather than slammed with bags. Just my opinion.

The SS would have been a performance truck if it was able to keep up with the other "performance trucks" (SRT10/Lightning) stock for stock. It cost almost the same brand new, so why not.....but thats already done. Maybe they will come out with a single cab LQ9 s/c from the factory or release the 427 SS silverado.
