  1. Thanks for the feed back. Its really hard to refrain from something so bad ass! But Im just gonna have to wait for another day. So why (pound for pound) does the TBSS 6.0 out perform the 6.0 in the SS? Just curious what the difference is?

How about a S/C in my SS? With my basic mods and a S/C would it be possible to hang with my ex-brother in laws Lighting (et 13.55)? I think a S/C would be cheaper than jumping in to a TBSS.

  2. So while I was out of town, I get bored and head to the local Chevy dealer. There they sit, six new TBSS's. Man they look good! Anyhow I quickly find myself bs'ing with and the salesman and next thing I know I'm test driving an TBSS. Those baby's sure pull nicely.

They claim this is there best deal...24k for my 2005 AWD SS with under 22k and basically flawless. The color TBSS (silver birch) I want they have new in 2WD but the the sale manager is driving a silver 2007 with AWD (which is what I want), 1200 miles, and is asking 39k (may I mention the new ones, less than 100 miles are within $500 of the sale managers). Isnt 1200miles considered used? I think so.

Anyway should I do it or not? What would be a reasonable deal for my SS and the (used?) 07 AWD TBSS?

  3. My SS was hit in the rear bumper and will be getting repaired soon. Though I am interested in the Bser roll pan, will I still be able to tow with my factory hitch? Will the hitch be hidden? Or can I forget about towing anything?

  4. I raced one (HD with SC) last year with my current mods and 22's. I blew him out of the hole and had him through the 1/8th but he crept up on me and beat me by a nose (my front bumper was at his front wheel). Rumor has it the HD had a lighting pulley, though the driver denied that.

Anyway race him and let us know how it turns out.

  5. Hey guys, i was wondering if any of you fella's have raced a quad-cad srt-10 ram with your SS. If so, what was the race like? My buddy has one and is talking sh!t. I want to know how bad I would get beat. Thanks

I raced a quad cab and beat it by a bumper. I also seen the same srt-10 quad cab get beat by a lighting (4 or 5 lengths) and by GMC VHO 2wd. I wasnt all that impressed with those things after that. I hear they suffer from heat stroke though, if so that guy was suffering alright! They say the RCSB are much faster though.

  6. In the first 5hrs owning my SS me and a buddy got caught street racing - basically the light turned green and we hit it up to about 50mph in a 35mph zone. Cost us both $1000 each ($500 for the fine and $500 for the attorney). We also had the ticket dropped to a negligent driving, no impound though, I guess we were lucky. I was the one that actually got pulled over my buddy went around us (I obviously won the short race) and he later recieved his ticket in the mail.

  7. Probably a little high priced, offer $900 and see what happens. Banshees are sick, I had a 2000 with about $3500 in mods. I was thinkin of a new Zook 450 though this year, I never thought Id be looking for a four stroke...we'll see?

  8. Hooked up ok, spun the tires because this temple isnt the best track. Reaction time sucked at .8 here are the times guys after the stall. Before the stall best 60 ft was 2.09 and best 1/4 was 14.209

    60 ft----1.8898

    330ft----5.5686

    1/8------8.7317

    1/8mph--77.51

    1/4-----13.7852

    1/4mph--95.56

    what do yall think?

Damn! Very Nice...I guess I need some LT's and a stall.

  9. Well guys i'm sorry to report the death of one of your own. He was a very nice guy and we talked after. Here's how it went down.

I was coming back from town when a black SS pulled up next to me at a light. I looked over and he was looking my way. I pointed ahead and he nodded. The light went green and he came out hard. Gotta a half truck on me from the dig. My traction finally arrived and second gear broke it again. When second hooked he was up by a truck. Then the race went fast. I pulled him in and got 2 trucks on him before 3rd gear squeaked and he was toast. I pulled into a gas station and he followed. He was a very nice guy. He was very surprised by my "Ford" and said it was obvious he had more work to do. We talked a bit and i bought him a Coke. He had headers and exhaust, SCT tuned and "other stuff" is all he said but didn't name it all. The awd was good off the line but it was no race after that. Thumbs up to him for taking it like a man and not acting all goofy. I'm sure we will race again when he is ready.

Just curious what kind of track times do you run in the 1/4 (60', et, 1/8, mph)?

  10. Yup, good kill, But nxt time show a lil bit more respect on the title, its kinda like saying "Yeah cowboys suck yall got beat down by the seahawks!!!" On there homefield.....hahaha imagine the riot lol

    But yeah Great Kill

    Onyx

Well they did get beat. As for the reply "Dead...down easy", its all good. Thats what makes street racing fun, it gives the SS fella something to work on. Thats how we do it, you get beat...you add more mods. Its all in fun!

  11. the headers and a combo of being 2wd , the 2wd seem to be about 1-2 tenths better in stock form in the 1/4 but in the 1/8th the awd wil every time. the headers should get you neck and neck . just add a torqu converter and that should really get you there.

Sounds good. I was thinking of the TB torque convertor, maybe i'll try that first to compare and then get the Dynatechs.

  12. The headers are helping him.  Get the headers and you should be right there.

One thing to consider is youe buddy running on 22's?  If not, theres a tenth or two difference right there.

I was running on 16's he had his slicks (I think they were 26"). The one time we raced (at the track) his 60' was 2.06 to my 2.10.

  13. Im thinking of purchasing the Dynatech longtubes but have a few concerns before I fork out the $. Me and a buddy of mine have virtually the same mods, except that he has headers and a 2WD SS. My SS is AWD and my best 1/4 time is 14.39 with my friends being 14.02 . My question is...whats making his SS faster in the 1/4?? Is it that he's 2WD or is it the headers that put him in front of me? I don't think its the difference in drivers as we both drive/launch very well

Should I purchase the Dynatech's or ditch the front end (J/J)?

  14. thanks for all the advice guys, sorry if i ruffled a few die-hard 2 / 4 strokers out there. i think if everything looks good, the 4k would be a great deal. 2004-2006 crf250's go for 3200-4800 and new leftovers are 5900 out the door. if i put 4k in the bike i will get at least 3500 back in a year, where as if it goes in the truck, i probably won't see a return. being 5' 9" 140lbs i think a 250f will be fast enough where i can have fun and learn the basics. but thanks for all the things to look for, they definately will help me out.

IMO you'll get tired of the 250 rather quick. Id opt for the CRF450, but considering your weight/size the 250 may work for you. Good luck, sounds like the 250 is decently priced.

  15. just got back from the track tonight....my 06 vortec max went 15.2 stock and i put a magnaflow exhaust and k&n fipk intake and now it goes 15.1?!?! it was about the same temp out both times and i made numerous passes each time i was there so i cant figure out if its maybe the intake or the exaust you guys have any ideas?

I went 14.39 with Corsa Sport, K&N, and Nelson tune. IMO, get a tune.
