  1. I am totally stock except my exhaust and had mine up to 109 so says the speedometer without it cutting out. I do have respect for you because I had a class with a hemi owner and he was defending his hemi... not giving the SSS' any respect, so it was nice of you to tell it how it was. You should trade in the hemi and pick up an SSS :chevy:

    :withstupid:

  2. Yeah that's what happens when someone comes to believe the world owes them a living.

But I'll tell you what's f'd up: I took a $35K/yr pay cut to work here with my father, and subsequently filed a modification of child support as my income was now far less than what I was making while I was married... the F'd up part was being told by a California district court judge "well Mr. Poythress you have certainly demonstrated you are more than capable of maintaining a six figure salary even though you have chosen not to do so; I see no reason to modify your child support, case dismissed." Now think about that, you ever want to know why I'm always pissed-off imagine how you would like it being court ordered to make at least $100-grand a year to afford CA child support or else go to jail for not being able to pay... I am not a very free man. I could totally see how Dale Jr. might be tired of being everyone else's meal ticket.

    Mr. P.

I would have appealed that decision, if I were you, P. There's no reason at all that just because some inconsiderate judge thinks you're worthy of 6 figures and decides you shouldn't reduce your support due to your stated decrease in income, that you should continue to pay the 6-fig. amount. That's :icon_bs: IMO ... :banghead:

But .. back to topic ... I think Jr. made the right call. Sr. didn't intend to leave the legacy to his ex ... greedy bit*h. Not Jr's fault she can't run the family company. Jr's a racer and a businessman ... I don't blame him one bit for wanting to own 51% of the organization that he continues to provide the main income stream for ...

  3. :shakehead: Well my 2004 GMC VHO is still under warranty, but the last 2 days I noticed that my rt. outside pwr mirror quit responding to my door panel control. It will not move anywhere/way in any direction. The auto fold and signal work great, so I think I have heard a few of us have had to have the WHOLE mirror replaced because of something like this right? Further more, how many of us had just the interior switch go bad?? I was just brain storming here to get some opions before I "take it in". I work at a dealership so I know we have a new switch in stock, but we would have to order the mirror assm. and I was tring to get everything lined up before hand so I don't have to wait and order parts....

Thanks in advance fellow truckers... :driving:

Do you have driver profiles? (Driver 1 and driver 2)

If you do, switch to the driver 2 profile and see if the mirror moves ... if it does, the door switch prolly went bad ...

  4. Awesome you got out of that situation. Glad you weren't hurt too bad ...

I can't thank you enough for what you and your fellow soldiers are doing for us. I don't think that the soldiers ever can hear that enough ... Thank You. :flag::flag::flag:

  5. im pretty sure that is an intimidator wing and they should have painted it and the rear bumper plastic and the hood white

I agree w/ pimp. All white + normal hood and color matched grille would have made for a nice ride ... until I CarFaxed it ... lol

  6. I'm going to use a Double-DIN sized DVD player from kenwood, and complete it with some nice GPS and try to find a way to wire it all to the factory HU, or replace that as well (don't know for sure yet). But from the few pictures i've seen on this site of members with LCDs mounted down in that panel, it looks like my only option is to make a custom fiberglass panel or to get another panel and cut it to fit (which is what it looks like pimp_ss did)... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated though...

I had my factory piece fabbed to match the touchscreen I put in ... Check It Out

The good thing about aftermarket adapters is that they usually pipe into the XM side of your factory head. So, if you don't have XM, you can play the accesory through the factory speakers using the XM input ...

  7. there is plenty of depth in that area, I have a DIN sized DVD player down there, with a lil massagin it fit great. as for the best picture in an indash, just remember, you get what you pay for, you are driving a 40K$ truck, dont skimp on the add-ons.... just my 2 cents..

What kind of "massaging" did you have to do? Just out of curiosity ...

Did you leave room as an air gap so that the unit you installed can breathe?

  8. I was thinking about doing this mod, but I was going to start off with the panel that they used for the six-dish changers that weren't part of the head unit, they went down where pimp_ss's monitor is. I want to start with that panel and cut it out to fit the monitor. Anyone know if that will work?

If it does, somebody shoot me the PN please...

Being that what you're looking to do is VERY custom ... your best bet would be to find the dimensions of the bezel you're talking about, and then match those up to the dimensions of the LCD panel you want to use. When I did mine, I measured everything before I bought my panel. I didn't want to buy something to find out later it wouldn't fit. Depth is probably going to be the most important dimension in the region that I think you're referring to. In our SS's, the trucks w/ the BOSE system have that subwoofer that's in the console ... and it might get in the way of what you want to do.

When I started brainstorming my project, I was going to replace my 6disc head with the GM NAV head, and just add the 6disc changer in the console ... similar to what you're talking about ... but I decided against that concept in lieu of placing the panel in that open area below the HVAC head.

I don't know the PN off hand, but I'm sure a dealer parts guy would be able to help you ...

  9. Very valid point, it seems the criminals have too many "rights" sometimes. A guy can point a gun in your face, take your wallet, hit you over the head, and run away...if you shoot him the back, you are a murderer by law because he already disengaged you, he has the right to his safety...hmmm. But also though, on the flip side of the arguement, capital punishment and stiffer laws for criminals are hampered by the fact that those laws can get applied to innocent people sometimes and since we live a society where you are technically innocent until proven guilty, its hard to take away your rights until you are proven guilty. Just both sides of the fence there. I for one believe that he should be sentenced to life in prison or the death penalty, but honestly, with drunks, its not always something they can help. You are asking/expecting someone who has an addiction to a drug (alcohol) and abuses it to make a rational decision. They are already irrational prior to drinking usually. Its not like it was his first time getting plowed I am sure. And while intoxicated, he makes impaired decisions to drive. I have a friend who is a severe alcoholic and crahed his car into a median, not hurting anyone but himself thank god. It was his 2nd dui. My point is that if there was a death penalty in place, I still feel he would have driven drunk and the accidents would still have happened. Why? Because the issue is deeper than the rational desire to commit a crime. The thoughts that go through a drunks mind and the decisions leading up to the tragedy/crime, are not the same as the thoughts/rationale that go throught he minds of say bank robbers or cold blood killers. The issue with DUI starts at a young age and goe smuch deeper, and I think that may also be why it is hard to execute someone for doing what they did while intoxicated. Kind of like we wouldnt execute someone for doing cocaine and hurting someone, the drug is taken into account.

I do agree with this concept ... and this particular situation presents 2 incidents ... DUI and manslaughter.

I have a buddy who's from Germany ... and they have a much different structure there than we have here, and the system, for the most part works well. The first time you are caught DUI, you lose your license, and you're thrown in the dunk tank. No matter the severity of the influence. (Meaning the level of intoxication).

If you're invloved in a high-speed pursuit, the law will stop the pursuit if there are innocent lives at risk. Radio is much faster (and safer) than 5 or 6 vehicles traveling at 120+ MPH.

I agree with both of these principles, and I wish that America would adopt them. I think it would make our roads much safer ... and who knows, maybe we could have an AutoBahn here in the US.

  10. Horrrific story and I hope he gets whats coming to him :nonod:

    :withstupid:

That's what I'm hoping ... maybe 'Bubba' will track him down while he's in jail and give him the man-lovin' he deserves ... :jester:

In all honesty, though ... this dude does not deserve to live. I am a firm believer in Capital Punishment, and there's no excuse for his actions. If we had more aggressive laws, people wouldn't be placing themselves (And Others) in unsafe situations such as this ... and the ones that still did, would be killed.

  11. I think what Rivera was trying to do was see if you were bluffing/talking out of your ass.

I guess your not, but you have quite some tone man. Evil (and some of the guys arguing) sound like a bunch of kids talking about their toys and why which one is better.

Yes renting is bad for the area. However Chase is 22 and just starting to get his life together. There are good renters and bad renters and if I had to choose Chase would be one of the people I would like to have as a neighbor. Mostly because hes a nice guy, and really does not go off and get pisst on a rant. All he did was defend his new home man, you shouldnt go all up in arms about it. I know a bit of real estate, my sister is a real estate attorney and I was gonna work for Fortune International Realty however I realized that real estate is not for me, its not my passion. (just giving you my background)

I am sure that your a great guy, with a ton of knowledge but seriously there is a better way, as well as a more mature way of dealing it besides mouthing out and acting like a jerk.

    :withstupid:

If this was a CA Real Estate site ... I could maybe understand these posts ... but dude ... this site is for our trucks. Not for someone to come in and start picking fights with people. The main reason that everyone here is defending CHASE (Notice NOT ALL that are defending him are from CA) is because we all know of him, and most of us have met him in person and he's a great guy. CHASE has also been here much longer than you and his reputation precedes him.

The other good point is that he's 22 and starting out. I did the same thing here in NC when I first moved here w/ my GF. We started off in an apt. on one of the low-rent sides of town (NO SHAME) and we worked our way into a much nicer neighborhood in less than a year.

You just need to sit back, :chillpill: about this real estate nonsense, and talk about your truck.

  12. "Uhhh...you guys want to conduct a piss experiment with me?" Duh...hhuhhuhuh...derrrrr

You would get your ass beat I think if you asked some guy to hold onto you while you pissed on anything.

    :withstupid:

I dunno about the rest of you, but I'm not quite manly enough to ask another man to hold it while I pee ...
