  1. Why is it called a cupboard when it's not a cup nor a board? Why do they call it a "Jump Drive" when it doesn't jump or drive anywhere?
  2. Sorry ... forgot about the VHO's ... and TBSS's ...
  3. If we're gonna have an SS meet ... it should be a true SS meet ... NO RICE!
  4. Mine gets very good HWY mileage ... almost 20 MPG!
  5. I dunno about well-made ... but I will agree with fragile. The electronics on BMW's are by far the worst I've ever seen ... I've seen several BMW's that will go ballistic when you hook up a scanner to them (Instrument Panel gauges sweep & vibrate, then the needles don't rehome, lights flicker & flash, etc.) The car's electronics' need to be resilient to the scanner interfacing with the vehicle bus, and BMW is just not up to par ... Funny, too how BMW tried filing for exemption to J2534 ... the EPA/SAE/ISO reprogramming standardization ... and they claim that their vehicle's were more 'technologically advanced' than the spec. outlined ... which is why they couldn't conform ... which may be true, but my guess is that their electronics were really not able to conform due to poor design ... JMO.
  6. ... Can't wait until football season starts again ...
  7. If you don't have a warranty, you can get them rebuilt by a place here in Greensboro, NC for about half the price of new.
  8. I never saw pics of your truck before. I like those wheels. Who makes them?
  9. I never heard of a PCM "locking" up before ... PCM's aren't like Windows ... they shouldn't "lock up" at all ... Burn up or short out ... ok, that's believeable ... That's just weird ... maybe the chip in your PCM is made up from a bad batch of Silica ... GM had/still has that problem on some of their other PCM's ... but, those bad units typically won't even hold a program, much less start the motor & keep it running ... strange ...
  10. I bet that ice cream truck has rats in it ...
  11. If you go in there guns blazing, it will most likely result in getting nothing accomplished, and you'll both be mad at each other ... Start by asking about what you rec'd for the money you paid, and then show him the truck. Then, ask if there's any way it can get resolved ... then ask why the job was misquoted.
  12. For the memory wire, you need to find a wire that supplies constant B+ ... not one that is switched, or provides 4-5 or .8 volts with key off. These won't work. A harness would have been the way to go. As far as the speedo ... I believe it's a network message to the IPC from another module ... (ABS?) ... so, if only your speedo is gone right now, the rest of the cluster is probably going to follow behind it ... if you know someone that has a scanner, hook up to the IPC module, and look for the "Monitored Vehicle Speed" data, and see what the reading is ... if the truck is moving, and it's reading MPH on the scanner, then it's definitely the speedo's motor on the cluster that's gone bad.
  13. Those flames and the fake GM wheels need to go ... get some chrome on there and it'll be lookin' sharp
  14. It's a PCM controlled starter ... PCM determines whether or not to keep it cranking until it sees RPM, or to stop it from cranking ... What the PCM looks at to determine whether or not to keep the starter engaged after you let go ... no clue
  15. How do you look up birthdays?
  16. I tell you what ... I like the looks of your truck. That's a fine ride you have there. Welcome to the site!
  17. Well ... that's another reason I'm kind of confused ... the contractors, as stated in the articles, seemed to prefer the Tundra over the Silverado ...
  18. Is $202 expensive for ceramic pads for the rears? ARE the rear pads ceramic?
  19. I bet it Chubbs with a new name ... If not ... Welcome!
