  1. I really didn't like their write-up on the Silverado. Yeah, it won 1st ... but they way the articles flow on each truck, you would have thought that the Tundra was the winner. Sorry for the but they could have written a better article on the Silverado.
  2. There is a "Silent Recall" for the new steering shaft ... CHASE posted a number up here for it in a different post ... # is 00-02-35-003M - (01/31/2007) View the Thread Here
  3. Dang ... sounds like both colors got equal votes ... prolly doesn't help you much ... I think the Red ones would accent the headrests and floor mats nicely ... JMHO.
  4. Well ... if you can command it with a scanner, then you definitely know that the A/C clutch is working. However ... I worked on a GM system w/ a buddy of mine & we were having the same problem you were having. But, there was one time we went to command the A/C on, and the response from the PCM came back "High Sensor Exceeded Threshold" ... so we went right for the High Side sensor ... and it was reading something like 192 lbs. of pressure with the A/C system OFF .... and it ended up simply being the high side wire that was shorted to ground. We patched that all up, and the A/C came on as soon as it saw the request from the dash. So ... in your case ... I would hunt around for wires that look like they've rubbed up against something, and rubbed the insulation off. W/o being able to take hi & lo pressure readings on your system, it's not easy to determine exactly, but it definitely sounds electrical ... and there's some kind of pre-condition that the PCM is looking at to be met before it engages the A/C compressor clutch. Good luck! BTW: Not sure about the HVAC modules having KAM (Keep Alive Memory) ... but if they do, Keep Alive Memory is nothing more than a few capacitors inside the module storing energy that gets used after the ignition key is turned off. This keeps the module awake after key off to handle other functions, if necessary. As far as "getting it back" ... not sure what you mean ...
  5. No more drag! Just got done cutting off the pipe that fell. Truck sounds pretty nice now!
  6. Do you have a sound clip, Holty? I'm thinking about doing something like this, but exits on both sides ...
  7. Well ... there's 2 mufflers ... mounted upright ... true dual setup ... maybe I can snap some pics later today or tomm.
  8. Get yourself a better scanner instead of the CrapperTech ... and you'll be amazed at what it can do ... I'm with .justin. ... P0455 = "Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Large Leak Detected"
  9. Good luck ... only one that I know of is the OE AC Delco Unit made by Nippen-Denso ... and it's like 600 clams ... But if yours fell apart on the inside like they commonly do ... you're gonna need more than a compressor ... new orifice, a system evac & flush, and recharge with all new freon ... not cheap ...
  10. '06's have rear drum brakes? I didn't know that ...
  11. I was thinkin' duct tape it to the bumper ...
  12. Wait a minute ... I thought you couldn't get a 2007 "Classic" SS ... that's what the dealer told me ... How did you get a 2007? Nice mods. Truck looks good!
  13. Hey guys ... had an interesting night tonight ... left my buddy's place after watching the new Rocky movie, and backing out of his inclined driveway, I hear some scraping ... no biggie ... or so I thought ... Got back to my place, and every turn I make, I hear scraping. I get out to look, and the right pipe is hanging 1" from the ground. I drove it the whole way home like that ... So ... looks like I'll be getting out the jigsaw and "dumping" my rear pipes tomorrow ... but I'm in the market for a new system. I spent the last hour searching the site for everyone's opinion of different brands, and sound clips, but there's just way too much info scattered in different places ... I'll be searching for the next 4 or 5 hours ... I was wondering if you guys might be able to round up as many sound clips as possible, and put them in this thread. I love the way my truck sounds now ... but I have no idea who makes the mufflers ... there's no stamp or logo on them anywhere ... I'd like to keep my current tone, and maybe go stainless, if the budget allows. Everyone's help is appreciated. Thanks!
  14. That's really good info. I'm glad you explained it to me ... because their website definitely led me down the wrong path ... Having the stock tune in storage is one cool thing about having the PC in the truck ... I can switch back and forth right from the driver's seat ... just pull over at a gas station or rest stop and switch back to stock, or load the custom tune if I know I'm getting ready for a race ... Thanks!
  15. You need to get you some 40's for it ...
  16. I'd be too man. Damn. I am so sorry. It's good to know you're ok, though.
  17. Wow ... all of you guys were born on April Fools day ... I don't need to say anymore ... Happy Birthday!
  18. That's probably not that bad, considering the amount of labor that's involved ... they probably spent at least 2 or 3 hours on it, no?
  19. Nice truck dude. I personally like the mudflaps ... considered getting them for mine ...
  20. I'm looking at these guys to provide the GPS software ... what do you guys think? IMobile Also considering Google Earth
