  1. I would go with another car ... You'll be able to save the coin for a 'charger pretty quick if the VMAX isn't your DD ...
  2. I was worried at first, P ... When I first saw this thread, I was expecting to hear a story about how some gust of wind tore some huge limb off of a tree by your house and it landed on your SS ... Glad that didn't happen ... I like the Viagra idea ... see if that works ...
  3. Looks like Tom Mabe makes an awesome contribution ... Video
  4. It's around 2.82 for 87 here in Charlotte, 3.09 for 93 ... I try to buy my gas in SC ... about 0.31 cheaper per gallon (87) ... I found 93 for 2.88 down there ... took $65 to fill up from dead empty.
  5. Not too shabby! Looks smooth ...
  6. Just looking for some opinions here ... I'm sure that just about everyone on here has had this happen at least once, if not more than once ... What do you do when approached by someone that claims to be homeless, or their car is out of gas, etc. and asks you for money ... ? One time I had a guy ask me for $$$ for gas & I told him I don't carry cash, but I'd put $10 in his tank w/ my credit card. (This way, I knew that the money was spent on GAS and NOT booze) Tonight a guy came up to me in the parking lot where my GF and I had dinner, asking for $$$. I could tell he was blind in one eye, and he promised me he doesn't steal, or drink, etc. He just asked for $$$ for food. Again, I told him I don't carry cash (95% of the time, I don't), and he thanked me and went on his way ... What do you guys do?
  7. I like the LS6 trim plate ... we need to find someone that can make LQ9 ones ...
  8. They'd have to go in the bed ... there's no way they'd fit inside ... YES! Allow me to make an addition ... :puke:
  9. Nah ... I am from the US. Took 4 years of French in school ... and what I typed above is about all I remember ... I've always wanted to see Toronto ... I've heard it's a real nice city.
  10. Tres bien! Je parle un peu ... Bienvenir!
  11. I bet this guy hates driving his car ... we'll probably see a thread out there by next week with a HUGE white glob of bird sh*t on the hood ...
  12. I agree with the caraudio post somewhat ... I've installed stereo systems for years for my buddies, & here's what I think ... The ground straps from the motor to the chassis are more than adequate, unless severely corroded, then replace w/ a new ground wire. Factory ground straps will provide the same amount of resistance as replacement wires (hopefully none), and the engine grounds are not that important unless you have a huge aftermarket alternator generating alot of current. However, grounding the toys you're adding is very important. Making sure they have a dedicated ground that has near 0 resistance is critical. This ensures they receive the proper amount of B+ energy from the battery while not getting too hot from the unnecessary resistance caused by a bad ground.
  13. From Wikipedia: "BitTorrent is a computer program developed by Bram Cohen and BitTorrent, Inc. used for uploading and downloading files via the BitTorrent protocol. BitTorrent was the first client written for the protocol. BitTorrent is often nicknamed Mainline by developers denoting its official origins. Version 4.20 of the client was dubbed Allegro by BitTorrent Inc., in reference to protocol extensions developed by the company to accelerate download performance and ISP manageability." In a nutshell ... a "torrent" is a program or file downloaded using a Torrent client, which uses the Torrent protocol. Most Torrent downloads use an IRC channel. IRC ... for those interested, means "Internet Relay Chat" From Wikipedia: "Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a form of real-time Internet chat or synchronous conferencing. It is mainly designed for group (many-to-many) communication in discussion forums called channels, but also allows one-to-one communication and data transfers via private message. IRC was created by Jarkko "WiZ" Oikarinen in late August 1988 to replace a program called MUT (MultiUser talk) on a BBS called OuluBox in Finland. Oikarinen found inspiration in a chat system known as Bitnet Relay, which operated on the BITNET. IRC gained prominence when it was used to report on the Soviet coup attempt of 1991 throughout a media blackout. It was previously used in a similar fashion by Kuwaitis during the Iraqi invasion. Relevant logs are available from ibiblio archive. IRC client software is available for virtually every computer operating system." Now you have a little history on "Torrents" and "IRC Channels" ...
  14. The only way to get away from the high price of gas is to park our SS's and buy an electric vehicle, or take a serious look at public transportation for most of our daily driving. Like many others on here, I'm seriously looking at getting a daily driver. This $75 every other day for gas is killing me.
  15. 2 Simple Answers ... 1. We have an Oil Tycoon as a President 2. GREED
  16. That looked like real fun ...
  17. I had to go to 3 GM Dealerships to get the threaded sleeves for my tailgate protector ... the first didn't stock them, the 2nd one only had 2 (I needed 4) and the third finally had all 4, but they were different than the first 2 I originally got ... I really don't understand how much confusion can be caused by 1 part number ... and man, were they expensive. The screws for these sleeves were even more expensive, though. They were about 2" in length, had a torx head and a washer ... but cost me almost $5 each!
  18. You'll prolly notice a little more meat when you drive it WOT now that the MAf is clean ...
