  1. Welcome to AZ! As long as you don't mind the heat during the summer you will LOVE it here
  2. I know it's early, but if any of you are for sure coming and can afford the payment I'd appreciate it if you could register and pay. I want to keep some momentum going with this event to make sure people don't think it's dead...the more we get to sign up, the more will continue to sign up. I know I haven't been active on this board for very long, but some of the guys here know me and can vouch for me, plus I'm a mod on pt.net with a good reputation Also, if any of you have any other truck related forums you know and would like to extend an invitation, feel free. I'm all for Lightnings or SRT10's or even one of these bad boys...I don't care!
  3. Sweet glad to hear some of you guys are coming There's a lot of interest so far!
  4. We're starting to get a lot of interest in this. There are a few of us planning on making the drive from AZ, some from LA and FL, and one at least from as far away as PA....if any of you are interested, check it out! Guys, I'm still checking on your questions as well. I'm about 99% sure that diesels are fine and that spectating will be free, but I want to hear for sure so there's no chance that I give you the wrong info.
  5. I think that would be ok...I'll double check it though. I think it's just a flat rate for the track for the day and we decide who comes in and who doesn't. I don't see why not. I'll double-check this too though.
  6. Hey guys, I'm organizing a private track rental day at HRP in December. If anyone is interested in coming, please see this thread for more information. http://performancetrucks.net/forums/showthread.php?t=417090
  7. Wow...reminds me of my ex. She wanted to get married and have a family...we would fight about it all the time because I can wait another few years. We broke up in December 2006, she was in another relationship by March 07, engaged in April 07, and married in Feb 08. Less than a year together and already hitched. All I can say is that I'm glad it wasn't me, lol.
  8. All done!!! What a difference!! I went from this: to this: Doesn't even look like the same truck anymore!
  9. Shackles came in yesterday Got the stance/ride height all set. Three things left to do... 1. Install 2wd u-bolts 2. Align front end 3. Install new tires and wheels Getting close!
  10. As much as it sucks, I have to agree with this. If you don't do anything about it and just sit there quietly you're preparing yourself to be devastated when she meets some other guy and falls for him. If you wait, you'll be disappointed sooner or later. If you do it now, there's a chance you'll be disappointed and a chance that things could turn out great. 50% chance now is a hell of a lot better than 0% chance in the future.
  11. Agreed. Depends on what blew up your tranny. If you're on stock power and the tranny just happened to take a dump for whatever reason, I'd just replace it with a cheap stock pull-out. If you're making enough power to break a 65E, then I'd go with a fully built trans like Mr. P said.
  12. Thought about this some more today....in all honesty, you don't need any of those gauges. You'd be better off selling them and using the money to buy yourself something useful.
  13. It's just dirty....I drove through some wet road paint awhile ago on a road trip and it dried before I could do anything about it. Once I finish this project I'm going to have it detailed with a clay bar and the whole deal...hopefully all of that will come off.
  14. If that AFR gauge is for a narrow band O2 sensor, don't bother putting it on your truck. All you'll get is a pretty light show. That being said, if you do decide to run it, that's the only one that will require anything other than a power hookup. I don't remember which O2 wire it needs to hook up to, but I'm sure someone will post up here soon and tell you which one. Other than that, for voltage you just need a switched power source, and the vac/boost gauge doesn't require any electrical hookup other than the backlight (I'm assuming it's a mechanical gauge with a port on the back for an air line). None of those gauges require a wiring diagram of the truck IMO. If your guy can't figure out those simple gauges I personally would find another place to take it.
  15. What gauges did you buy? Typically you only need to tap into the truck wiring for power, and if your install guy needs a wiring diagram to find a good switched power source you need to find a new install guy.
  16. Driver's side is done. It felt sacrilegious to peel those Z71 stickers off I was a little sad.
  17. As far as I know the 99-02's were the same way as well. I know my 01 had the integrated housing and t-stat. It was either 04 or 05 that they went back to the separating them again.
  18. The difference is in the water pump, not the fan type. IIRC it was 05 when they started going to the separate t-stat and housing, but I could be wrong. Either way, for your 03, you need the whole assembly, as you can't just replace the thermostat by itself. If and when you guys replace your water pumps, GM doesn't make the older style ones anymore. You'll have to go to the 05+ style, which means that t-stat swaps become much cheaper
  19. I hope it does! Once those badges come off they aren't going back on, even if it doesn't look good, lol. Got the factory torsion keys back in. Getting closer to the target ride hight. Back will come down one more inch....should be a very slight rake.
  20. I'll probably get to work debadging it here in the next few days.
  21. Already bought wheels. I need an 18 to clear the Baer brakes I want to run. Ordered tires a little bit ago too...Toyo Proxes S/T 275/55-18. Should be here middle of next week.
  22. Thanks She's coming along nicely I think. Here are some daytime shots of the current height now. I think a 1" smaller diameter tire, 18's, a tiny bit lower and a little more rake and it'll be perfect
  23. I replied in your other thread....most local tuners here contract through a guy named Nic. I've met him and seen him tune vehicles before.....I know it's my own opinion, but I wasn't impressed. I looked at one of the tunes he did on my buddy's Procharged GTO and he did some cheating with the PE tables to get the AFR right. Granted, the GTO's fuel system wasn't up to par, but something just seems wrong about that to me. He does seem to have a very loyal following and his customers are generally happy, but they seem to be the type that don't know any better anyway. Long story short, the local tuners here will generally do a WOT tune on a dyno for you. IMO what you need is a good street tune, and someone who will spend more than 15 minutes working on it. PM the guy I put in your other thread....he's my roommate and is a very good tuner and will spend a good amount of time working on your truck instead of throwing a canned tune in it and tweaking it a little bit.
  24. Shoot a PM to kbracing96....he's starting to do FI tuning here in Phoenix Let me know if you need help with the install too. Will work for free food!
