  1. Yeah I'm sorry I got a little heated....long day and lots of time defending my choices to other people who want to argue with me about what I'm doing. Did not mean to snap back at you. Got a little work done tonight....lift blocks and add-a-leaf removed, torsion bars decranked as far as they'll go. I have aftermarket keys in there, so once I get the unloading tool for the keys I can put the stockers back in, and I think it'll drop a little more in the front. Before After
  2. It's a 7 year old truck with 157,000 miles that has seen plenty of offroad days and has had a small lift (1.5-2 inches) and 33' tires for most of it's life. My preferences have changed, and I'm ready to do something different with it. I have too much money into the engine and drivetrain to start over with a new truck. It is what it is, and I'm past the point where I care that my Z71 won't be going offroad anymore. Z71 isn't anything other than shocks (which have been replaced with aftermarket ones anyway), lift blocks, stickers, and a skid plate package anyway. What difference does any of that make on which way I go with it?
  3. I'll keep you guys updated as I progress. Scott - no, you can't buy my GTO
  4. Thanks guys Yep....don't see too many Chevy trucks with them, and for $160 for a complete set it's hard to beat the price. Better than spending $400 per wheel on a set of aftermarket ones.
  5. My first attempt and doing some real photoshopping...I think it turned out pretty well Ok....got some chops. Trying to figure out what height I want the truck to sit at. Current unaltered photo. Titan 18's with the 265/70-18's that came with them. Unaltered photo. Titan 18's on with roughly a 285/55-18 tire, same height as now De-cranked t-bars and rear lift blocks removed Here's another 1-2 inches off the last pic from above Side molding removed. I really like the way this looks. I think this is what I'm gonna do Z71 sticker removed.....not sure if I like it or not. Almost looks too plain IMO. Completely debadged. What do you guys think?
  6. I'm not parting out the gauges. 616, I am selling the mounting plate as well. I have someone else interested in just the plate if I sell it separately. For now though, I'd really just like to sell the whole thing together. If I get a bite on just the gauges the other guy already has dibs on the plate.
  7. I'm selling my Aeroforcetech Interceptor gauges and the SocalDiesel overhead pod mounting plate. Everything is in great condition. One of the gauges was replaced under warranty about 2 months ago. The other is about a year and a half old. Plate is black, and gauges are black face, black bezel, with white screens. These are the PT series gauges....click link below for application guide. http://aeroforcetech.com/files/Aeroforce_a...uide_basic2.pdf New, these are $399 for the dual gauge setup and $125 for the overhead mount. $425 shipped for the whole package. $350 shipped without the mounting plate. Here's an installed pic.
  8. Very nice! I will probably do this sometime soon.

    Hids

Does your auto headlight system turn the lights on while you're starting the truck? I've heard that's really bad for them to have the voltage drop like that. I'm going to disable the auto headlight feature on my truck for that same reason, since I just put HIDs in mine.
  10. Me too...I hated mine at first, but it works well with the 408 and a turbo Yep I got tired of buying the expensive Dexcool crap so I flushed the cooling system and replaced with the cheap generic green stuff. I seem to be draining and refilling the cooling system fairly often for one reason or another....radiator needs to come out, thermostat swap, water pump replaced, heater hoses extended, etc etc. Green works just fine as long as there's no Dexcool left in the system to mix with.
  11. Thanks for the comments everyone Couple of reasons...Bill is running a 4L60E still, which doesn't sap as much power. He also has a lot smaller tires (not sure what size, but they aren't anywhere near the 33's that I have). Real world results have also shown that the cooling effect that N2O has with the Radix would make a 50 shot through the Radix equivalent to the gain you'd get with a 100 or larger shot on a N/A engine. I've heard too that a non load-bearing dyno like the Dynojet, which is what my numbers were on, doesn't always do so well with turbos because it doesn't load the engine up enough to make the power that it would on the street. If you look at my dyno chart, you can see where I hit full boost, and it wasn't until 4000 RPM. Who knows what the chart would have looked like if I made full boost at 2800 or 3000 like I do on the street. Might have changed the curves a lot. The proof is in the track times...he's running almost a 12.00 flat, and I'm in the 11.6x range, even with the larger tires and 4L80E. My track times were put down with 15psi though, so there's a further complication. I guess the answer to your question is I don't know, but there are a lot of possibilities.
  12. Mark, why'd you let them put all that ugly red stuff on your engine??? jfwy bro, I love your truck I haven't heard anything about the kit the OP is talking about....more info please?
  13. Dyno chart Dyno vid http://video.performancetrucks.net/video/3...a060047a38c.htm Just rebadged the tailgate on the truck a few weeks ago too This is mixed parts from a 5.7 GTO, 6.0 GTO, and an HHR SS
  14. Downpipe after he finished building it Downpipe installed Old crossover vs new crossover Wastegate location and piping Another view of the wastegate area Bolts up to a stock style cat-back Here's some videos.... This was wasn't my best run, but it was close http://video.performancetrucks.net/recentv...a0d010de939.htm Here's a squirrely 10psi 4wd launch...I'm sure some of you guys know what these are like http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=24...50055&hl=en Here's me at the track....so you can put a face to the name, lol
  15. Hi! I'm Chris! I don't have an SS, but I do share a common interest in the GENIII and newer GM vehicles (and I love the way the SS looks, if that counts for something!) Anyway, I thought I'd post up some pics and a couple vids that I have....I'll be hanging out more and hopefully I'll be able to contribute a decent amount. Here's what she's got.... 408ci, 9.4:1 SCR Comp Cams 220/222-580/580-114, XE-R lobes, advanced 1 degree Melling stock replacement oil pump Rollmaster double-roller timing set Wiseco 16cc dish pistons Ackerly & Childs moly ring set Callies Compstar rods Callies Dragonslayer crank WCCH 317 stage 2 heads LS7 lifters, manley pushrods, stock rocker arms PT76GTS custom front mount kit Best of 11.63@119 at 15 psi, with a 1.81 60 foot. Had it dyno'ed, and at about 11 psi I put down 575/640 to the rear wheels, through a 4L80E, transfer case, and 33" tires. My roommate (kbracing96...not sure if he's on here, but he's on pt.net, gmfs, ls1truck) just built me some new hot side piping for the turbo. We just finished everything up a couple days ago. I'm hoping that the new kit is more efficient than the old one (it LOOKS like it should flow better, and I went form a 3" to a 3.5" downpipe), but I don't have any numbers to back it up yet. Here's Rex at WCCH working on my engine Plopping it back in the truck... Couple of in-progress install pics My glory shot...lol ...and some finished pics Here's some pics of the new turbo piping New manifold installed Cold side piping run from turbo to intercooler Top view Got rid of the two couplers that were on top of the engine...this was after cutting and test fitting. It's obviously not welded up yet
  16. x2....don't waste your money unless your existing plug wires are bad and you can replace them with aftermarket ones for cheaper than stock.
  17. Good luck man! If you get an 11 sec slip, make sure you post it up. If you blow up, make sure you take a lot of pics I love carnage pics!
  18. I've seen this truck a few times in a parking lot at 7th Ave and Deer Valley....nice looking truck. Anyone on here?
  19. Yeah definitely a member on performancetrucks....he's been pretty active lately. Nice find on the vid....entertaining for sure
