  1. What was your MPH on the 13.6 run? Do you have a bottle heater? Maybe your bottle pressure was a little low on the 13.6 and it was were it needs to be for the 12.93 run.
  2. So all you have is a intake, tuning, and a 125 wet shot to get 12.93?
  3. Gives us more info on your setup. Also its a commen rule for NHRA/IHRA tracks that any vehicle going 13.99 or faster requires the driver to wear a helmut.
  4. I was wondering since so many of you guys like the Magnuson superchargers on here if any of you have tried going with larger crank pullies? At the shop I used to work at we did alot of 03-04 Cobras and one of the popular modifications was a larger diameter crank pulley. They increased the horsepower a good amount but made alot more torque. Any body here experiemented with these? I know ECS makes a 8" balancer for the C5 not sure though if it will work on a truck.
  5. Transgo is the way to go. Most good shops can iinstall a complete kit in your truck in 3 hours.
  6. Probably was the lock up clutch failed. I always recommend that if people are going to reuse a converter with a new transmission to have the converter cut, cleaned, and restalled. Some manufacturers like Precision Industries will do this for free for the first two years. Most will charge $200-$300 but is alot cheaper than replacing your entire transmission.
  7. Call LG Motorsports in Wylie TX; G5X3 cam + upgraded valvetrain + AFR heads + 90mm + long tube headers + CAI + Corsa + PCM tune + ARP rod bolts = 430 naturally aspirated rear-wheel horsepower on stock cubes that is street driveable on a 2600-2800 rpm converter, gets very close to stock economy on the freeway, pulls like a SOB to 6600rpm, and sounds just brutally wicked both at idle and on the way to redline - if I was going to stay N/A this is the performance route I personally would choose. Similar results have been produced by Texas Speed using the Magic Stick 3 cam. Point is, with smart parts selection 430rwhp is easily achievable. Yes both companies have put those cams in trucks with appropriate converters and had good results. Mr. P. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A G5X3 is way too big of a cam for a street truck in my opinion. I run it in my Camaro and it chops extremly hard and doesnt have great low down power. I have a 3600 stall converter so that helps keep it in the power band but I would never use something that big in a stock cube truck motor.
  8. I would step down to a 2.5" inlet/outlet muffler. Theres no such thing a a "quiet" dual 3" exhaust system. A resonator will help cut down on the rasp and sharpness of the sound but not much on the drone.
  9. Oh Ok cause up here we really do have some Chitown racing retards who do this shit. Ive been there when one exploded its not fun.
  10. Sure fire way to kill yourself blow torching a bottle. Once youve had a bottle explode by you you'll understand how dangerous and stupid that is.
  11. I recommend a bottle heater for the simple fact you get more consistent performance without it your changing bottle alot more often.
  12. Honestly it depends personally I have seen a YSi blower bolted up to the stock bracket on a stock T trim kit for a 3rd gen Fbody. A strut brace had to be added, a large front mount intercooler, and the sytem changed to 10 rib pullies but the bracket was pretty much stock. Car made 750 rwhp on 17#s of boost on 100 octane through a 700R4. Guy was a street driver but with numerous passes on ET Drags he never had a single problem with belts being thrown or the bracket being bent. It all depends on how thick the bracket is and how good of a mounting point it has.
  13. For a 408ci motor I would step up to a YSi blower if your going to stay with Vortech. As far as heads I have seen a few people who got good results with the Dart 225cc heads. A complete set can be had for $1300 and you can sell your stockers.
  14. No bottle heater? Any idea what kind of pressure the bottle was at?
  15. Great times. Happen to remember what the temperature was outside? Are you running a stock converter?
  16. Great times. Do you know what could be causing your belt slip issues? Are you still on the 6 rib setup? I would say you definitely need to look into 8 rib crank and blower pulley to be able to obtain 8 or 9 pounds of boost.
  17. I understand you guys like the Radix but im not interested in one so unless it has something to do with a Procharger setup for these trucks can we keep it on topic.
  18. It seems very few people in general dont use the Procharger kit for these trucks. I was wondering if anyone has any dyno results or better yet track results for a Procharger kit with their Silverado SS? Im trying to see if I can get my truck into the mid 12s. Which I figure will require around 500 to 550 rwhp. This shouldnt be a problem with a Procharger kit making around 10 pounds of boost. Just want to see if any of you guys have made it in this range?
