  1. The stock program forces the engine to shut down @100 mph. This allows you to only dyno the truck in second gear which nets low numbers.

When I was bone stock I put down 278rwhp/301rwtq. He's low in his estimate but not too far off.

  2. If you want to run 11.3 you need a new motor, FI/NX, rebuilt tranny, drag slicks, rear end etc etc etc.

To beat the Camaro just buy yourslef a 200 wet shot of nitous and start spraying til your eyes roll back and you see your brains melting... along with your motor

  3. Ok what does that mean cause Im new at this!

He's suggesting that you don't use LS6 heads because they would effectively raise your compression. When you add FI (forced induction) to your motor you can run more boost by using lower compression to start.

The stock heads on your LQ9 are "317s"

  4. I know that there is a lot of posting's of ebay finds, so I figured I post another one. :D

    Here is the link.

I sent the guy a message when it was first posted letting him know that it looked like the SS badges were on upside down, and he sent this to me today.

Thank you for your recent inquiry on the SS Silverado. The SS badge is placed correctly above door molding which is also in the picture.
:banghead: All I can say is I tried, and he has bids on the truck so oh-well.

My uncle used to say, "You can lead the horse to water but you can't make it drink".

You'd think that after so many inquiries this guy would accept the fact that it's wrong.

I wonder what the other side looks like... :wtf:

  5. Figures.....that's the day we've had planned about 2 months now for a visit to Laconia Bike Week!

    Justin  :chevy:

Epping is a short haul down 11 to 107 to 101 if you wanna hook up at the drags.

I'm off work too so, if anyone wants to hit the drags, let's be there right at 5 when they open the gates. We can make a few passes til it gets busy and still be in Manch-Vegas by 730ish. I'm not a "Hooters" kinda guy (Corvette clubs are always going there) but I'd be up for like Cactus Jack's or sumthin'.

Merv, whatever works for you man, it's your thread. Actually, it's your forum, isn't it? :flag:

  6. I'd be up for doing dinner and the drags. Just figure if we're hooking up on a Wednesday we may as well run the trucks.

We'd do a dyno day at Dez Racing down in Seekonk in late June. There's some CT and RI guys who show up for those meets, too. One of those boys ran 13.2 in his N/A 5.3 RCSB yesterday.

Just noticed BADFNZ has been tuned at Dez's shop too.

Dunno where NEDyno moved to. I never went there but thought they used to be in Worcester. Anyway, Dez does all my custom work and have always treated me right so I'm gonna set it up with them.

  7. Raising kids isn't all that tough. Just roll with it and you'll find it's all what you make of it and they love you no matter what.

Don't marry the girl! Don't do it! You two are way too young and if it's truly "meant to be", you'll marry eventually. Just be a stand up guy and do all you can to provide for mother and child.

Keep your truck. You're already living with this girl so you know what your expenses are. Let the parents buy the crib and changing table. Raising kids isn't all that expensive and it gets easier as they get older.

  8. I was half listening to the guy when he was talking about the planetaries. I've never been really 'up' on transmissions but I ask everyone about this 4L70 just cuz I've never heard/read a straight answer as to WTF it has in it.

Zippy, if you're asking me about towing, not me.

The test I'm interested in is to see how long a 4L70 lasts for someone with a blower. That's were the others all seem to fail miserably.
