  1. I appreciate the response/offer on the silverado grill, but i'd like to stay with the original SS grill.  Not sure if there's a difference from '03 to '06.  The local dealership wants about $600 for replacement parts.  I've looked at a few online vendors for a cost of around $400.  Just thought there might me something out there on our SSS site.

OK but I'll ship you this one, for $250.00 PayPal, to your door in Iowa.

  2. Sad story about the wife.

Seems like you two had been a tough place for a while, having gone to counseling previously, the arguing and her apparent "plan" to leave are all factors leading to this. Sounds like you just can't make this woman happy, for whatever reasons.

Surely, she has her own 'side' to the story and is able to justify her actions in her own mind. She took the opportunity to clean herself out of your home and withdraw your savings because she's either too selfish to compromise herself to the marriage or is just so miserable that she can't hang in there any longer. Either way, you're going to be better off without her. Together, she'll just continue to bring you down with her (as she's doing now) and over time everything that ever goes wrong will always be YOUR fault (as she might claim now).

As badly as you may want to, I'm going to suggest you don't chase her. It'll only be setting yourself up for more heartache and allow her more opportunity to abuse you mentally or otherwise. Instead, collect your thoughts, call on a couple of real friends, grieve and move on. Above all, don't self-destruct! From here on, it's all about you! Don't give her the satisfaction of lowering yourself any further or of embarassing yourself by doing mad burnouts in front of her parent's house.

If she proceeds with a divorce, give it to her and do not conceed anything that you feel you're entitled to. Too often in a divorce one of the spouses feels a sense of defeat and gives up on their belongings because they're unable to think straight. Find a prick attorney and be a prick about it. She took from your home without your consent and for that, she deserves to lose this one. Noone fux with you like that, NOONE!

Now grab a beer, crank up some of your favorite music that she didn't like and start enjoying your life again, Mister!

The truck guys believe in you, man.

  3. Thanks guys,

So some of you are using the stock housing with the reflectors in but Chase, isn't?

And as far as blinding people "that much", does that mean you get flashed fairly often or rarely?

Sorry for beating on this one.

  4. I have an HID kit that was in another truck, just kicking around. So I plugged it in and the ballasts/bulbs lit up. Before fab'ing a bracket on the stock housings I'm wondering; has anyone else done an HID conversion to their stock Silverado housings and how the light pattern works?

  5. ... My driveshaft broke a few months later, it was just lucky that no one was hurt....half of the driveshaft came to rest about 8" from someone's feet.  ...

    Holy Christ dude.

There've been other reports of GM driveshafts letting go on stock vehicles, too. That one might not be due to the drop kit.

No flaming here, just keepin' it real.

  6. WOW!

I dunno much about who's kits are "the best" or who's "suck" but I am a business owner who is proud of my services and speak from that platform:

This guy, Mike M. is putting an incredible amount of salt on your words and bitching about the taste. :chillpill: If he's unhappy about something you've posted in (various) internet forums regarding his designs being inferior to his competitors, it's his responsibility as a professional to improve his own design. Noone outside of his office could care less about, "who copied off of whomever's design"!

    Mr. M,

IMHO you would be better as a designer/businessman to get over this.

Perhaps certain individuals may weigh in their experiences with your products as (and I emphasize) existing customers while other are making their own purchasing descisions. So what? It's free R&D to your company. However, if you've personally read these same reviews in the same places, the onus is upon you to address the customer's complaint and remedy the situation at hand.

Your overwhelming eagerness to challenge your own customer base and competitors with legal action is simply distubing and degrading to your company. Japanese would say, "you've brought shame to the face of your family".

Chalk it up to constructive critisizm, shake hands, have a beer and remember what it is that brought you to where you are; you're a car guy!

    ps GOD bless America! :flag:

  7. IMHO, stomp on it, beat the shiz out of it and then bring it to a reputable, performance transmission shop for rebuild. Have that shop do the work and bill back the General. You may have to pony up a few hudred bucks for upgrades (I threw in $300 when doing this) but you'll get something special. Have them put a higher stall converter in while at it.

    :)

  8. I ran Eibachs on my Tahoe with an Eibach drop and loved it. Seems like Hotchkis is the brand of choice on the Silverados, so I'm gonna get in the Lemming Line and do them too :jester:

Alot of people do business with Tom at TByrne Motordports but as mentioned above, there are alot of backorders generated with the GP's so, you might pay a little more from somewhere else and get a set in stock.

  9. Thanks for the warm welcome, folks!

Tonman: affirmative, I'm a great Massholio in The Metro-West area. Any truck ralleys or meets around this summer? Lemme know and I'm there.

FwyFlr: The wheels are genuine GM 20x8.5 -2mm offset. They're available through any GM accessory dealer. But, they discontinued mine and I've never seen another set around  Prolly less demand cuz they're polished rather than chromed so it's waaaayyy more maintanence.

  10. I have the Hankook Ventus ST 295/50s on 20x8.5 GM wheels...luv them! They absolutely suck in the snow but in the rain they're excellent. They wear well (directional and can't be rotated) and corner amazingly. Mine's a little higher than yours because it's a VMax but I ran these on my dropped Tahoe with no rubbing or cutting, too.

    Here's a pic

  11. Been using you guys for a long time to gather info about my truck. Actually learned it existed thanks to this board :D

Got an 06 V-Max, CCSB, 295/50 Hankooks on Chevy 20's, USSpeedo gauges, SSS grille.

It dyno'd 278/301 last week; bone stock. It's getting Pacesetter LT's w/stock cats and true duals this week. Dropping a KN replacement filter in too, for starters, cuz I can't decide which CAI to buy (I'll prolly just modify the stock airbox and roll with it). Once they're in I'll get it dyno tuned next week and see what it'll do.

Next will be a Hotchkis sway bar kit. Then Heads and cam but again, still uncertain which.

Here's a pic from when I first picked it up but I've since debadged it and changed the grille. If the G.D. rain ever stops, I'll take some fresh pix.

Hope to help out around here sometimes.
