Got my letter today, it's about time, my speedo hasn't worked right in over a year.

Looks like it's only an 04 thing, I have an 03 SS that the Speedo is going nuts on and the dealer said they don't any info on a recall for it.

According to the description from that link, the 6.0 version comes with a Y pipe, not pictured. so it should work for the SS.

My Speedo's been doing this crap since shortly after i bought my truck in June, I've been doing the key turn thing to bump it back down. I called this guy i found on ebay mentioned in on of the above posts and he seems to be really good and cheap. He quoted me $240 to change out ALL motors in the gauge cluster, replace all the light bulbs and change the face over to an escalade gauge faces and ship it back over night. the only thing not included in that price is shipping to him. He has a 1 day turn around on all speedo's and a 1 year warranty. I think I'm going to try it so i'll let you guys know how it goes. It said hemi on the cowl hood and the sides of it and it barked 1st 2nd 3rd. just tellin ya what happened. I see the truck all the time i'll take pics next time i find him.

On the way to work this morning a PURPLE reg cab dodge hemi with a cowl hood black racing strips and exhaust rolled up behind be 1/4 from intersection the light turned red so i got over so he'd pull up next to me. rolled down the window and chatted for a min. His truck had the above listed mods, mine was bone stock 2003 SSS awd. His was a 5 speed. Light turned green i gave him 1/2 truck length start and blistered his a$$. shut down at 70 1 1/2 truck lengths on him. AWD is awesome. He barked his tired in 1st 2nd and 3rd. It was fun, hell of a nice guy too.

Our trucks can easily take a stock stang GT, Mine is bone stock and I let my buddy in his 02 Mustang GT with Headers, exhaust, CAI, 5 spd, get half a car length head start and he wound up at my rear wheel in a 1/4 mile strech of road.

Mines doing the same thing, just the other direction, it stays maxed out most of the time and occasionally comes back down to 0. Its the guage cluster, apparently the motors in them are complete shit. 300$ for a new cluster. I'm gonna swap mine out for the Escalade cluster, the blue lights look better IMO.

I was on my way home form work yesterday and stopped at a red light, looked down and the speedo is sitting at 45mph!?!?! When i got home i turned the truck off, let it sit for a couple minutes and turned it back on, speedo went from 45 down to 35 mph and sat there. I repeated these steps and it went from 35 to 25. so i did it a couple more times till it was back at zero. I then went for a short drive and it seemed to be fine. The last couple days i've noticed on deceleration that its real jerky instead of the smooth turn its supposed to have. Any ideas/ advice? the truck isan't under warrenty, go figure. Thanks, Stephen

Go with a new Mac. There is no loss in functionality. The new Mac os tiger will run most windows programs and Leopard that comes out in several months will run even more. Apple even has a program called bootcamp that actually lets you install Windows on a Mac(you do have to buy windows seperatly$150). The Mac OS DOES NOT get viruses. Its crazy simple to use and it just works. And most of the new macs cost less than comparable Dells. Why to get a Mac Hope this helps.

I was looking on the chevy silverado page and they have a new thing on there about the 2007, they don't mention a 6.2 liter only a 6.0 and 5.3. they did give the 6.0 367hp, and the 5.3 is alittle higher too, but no where near that 404hp of that 6.2 2007 Silverado FYI Stephen

I hitched it up yesterday and pulled it out of the back yard to the driveway and i wasn't feeling it, so i'm getting my grandfathers dodge 3500 dullie and towing it with that. Not that i doubt the ss would pull it, but the tongue weight was too much, my truck was about 5-6 inches lower than usual and i was afraid it would bottom out on a bump. If i had air bags on the rear suspension i would have done it. Thanks for your input. Stephen

Quick question regarding towing. My friend sold his sailboat which weighs in the neighborhood of 7000lbs, no more than 8000lbs. and needs it towed on a tandem axel trailer about 30miles, over relatively flat good roads. the trailer DOES NOT have brakes. Any advice on towing with a 2003 SS. will this tear my truck up?! Thanks for any info. Stephen

I've got a projector home theater system, beats the hell outta paying arm+leg for rear projection big screen that looks like crap. I got some screen material off ebay and made a permanent screen that looks like a big picture and mounted it on the wall. looks very professional when its turned off even though that a very rare occurance. dalite and several other companies make electric screen that can retract out of sight when not in use, then run 200-1000$ and usually limit your screen size to around 100 inches.
