  1. i had a black 05 and could'nt stand the up-keep needed to keep it nice. i've found the exact oppisite to be true with my white V-max even when dirty it still looks good... i think the dirt hardly shows much on white IMO i've even had freinds ask "if i just got it detailed" to which i replied "it has'nt been washed in a week" so personaly i think white is the easiest to take of
  2. ssthunder, no wiring included that stood attached to the 05 when i traded it in..sorry. if it makes any difference i'll do it for $150 let me know what you want to do?..
  3. not everyone has the 4.10's.. only the parformance package x-cab came with them the crew's had the 3.73's as well as the performance edition x-cab like yours the differance is yours is like an ss mechanicaly (suspension, traction control, ride height 20" wheels) where as mine is a more of a heavy duty version (had 17" wheels, all terrain tires, duel ride control for trailering and a taller ride height, engine oil and trans coolers) although i'm in the process of lowering it 2/2 and the duel ride control realy improves the handling when set to firm.. and i'll be adding the addco swaybars when i get the$$$ and i had the 20 wheels off my other truck so in the long run for me it worked out better because i got more on my truck for less and what did'nt come with it i already had (or could cheaply swap) BTW like that silver birch!
  4. is the gov-lock the weak link or is there still something i should worry about?. it's under warranty so if it doe's blow will they not cover it just for a couple mods? like CAI, headers/duels, tune, t-stat.. that all i'm planning on for now.. thanks for the info
  5. thats in ohio it won't be cheap i'm near LA, CA.. so i'm gonna say $200 give or take $20-30 bucks?... if your ok with that i can still sell it for the $300 and drop it off to a freight company?... let me know. thanks for the interest.
  6. i can try to find out tomorow?.. but it's heavy and large so probably a lot?.. i won't charge anything but the actual shipping charge though. i'll post back tomorow.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> any update on S&H cost? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> sorry i had a busy weekend.. i'll try to get an answer today. thanks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if that zip code is in kentucky like it shows up as.. the shipping will be about $65.00 so if you want i can sell it for $160 with shipping, packaging, and time.. all included let me know what you think?... and here is a pic...
  7. suprisingly yes it is... please tell me your local?.. shipping is the only thing i think is stopping the sale. i will deliver it for free up to a hundred mile's if that helps?...
  8. i can try to find out tomorow?.. but it's heavy and large so probably a lot?.. i won't charge anything but the actual shipping charge though. i'll post back tomorow.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> any update on S&H cost? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> sorry i had a busy weekend.. i'll try to get an answer today. thanks.
  9. Yes AWD. If you are towing then buy a premium 2600-2800 RPM converter, there are several on the market with kevlar lockup clutches, they will deliver OEM towing capacity in top gear. One will set you back about $800 but they are certainly bullet-proof. re loosing grip: imagine taking off WOT from a stoplight and as you get half-way across the intersection all four tires break loose at 35mph It hasn't happened since getting rid of the Goodyears and installing Pirellis. Mr. P. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i've got yokohama avs st's 295/45's (almost at the end of there life ) which grip a lot better then the bridgestones that were on it. i had goodyears on my 03 275/55's and i did'nt like them much either.. on the converter i'm not sure i could afford to spend $800 on a TC (at least not now) i still have other mods to do first before my trans becomes an issue. i just like to gather all the information i can when it's available so i know what to do when the time come's.. so thanks for the info and hopefully i won't have to worry about my trans for a while
  10. I have never played with a Chevy rear assembly,...are the roll pins defective? was there a service bullitin on this? All I need is for the rear to let loose <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Defective is a good word for the G-80 Gov-lock rearend. In better words it's a piece of sh!t. This is why I replaced mine before it went out. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> do i have to worry about this i have 2006 V-max and i counted 14 bolts on the rear end.. everything is supposed to be heavy duty on my truck i don't want to risk blowing my rear-end on the street or track?..
  11. how many cfm will the lq9 heads flow stock?.. and how much power do you guys think the heads and intake are worth?.. just curious
  12. i have a hood i bought from suspension max (there in truckin magazine) last year it fits 03-05 silverados and is a cowl style steel hood. they assured me it was built at the same plant as the goodmark hood just cheaper because the no name packaging but it is a very nice hood and is identical to the goodmark cowl hood.. if your interested i'll deliver it for$350 anywhere within a 100 miles of LA or i could ship it but it wont be cheap so let me know if your interested and maybe we could work something out?...
  13. i kinda had the same question, but i never asked.. i went to a local performance shop and they had long tube pacestters for a 5.3/4.8 and they were like $420+tax but the catalog did'nt say 6.0 anywhere is there an exact part number anyone can give for the headers they used and confirmed from pacestter are for the 6.0
  14. i can try to find out tomorow?.. but it's heavy and large so probably a lot?.. i won't charge anything but the actual shipping charge though. i'll post back tomorow..
  15. i'll sell you mine for $25 + whatever shipping cost is to your zip. just let me know how fast you want them and i'll get a qoute from usps or ups fed-ex whichever you prefer at whatever speed?. if your interested PM me for a pic and i'll give you my number
  16. makes sense.. at the track i was stalling at about 1500-1800 rpm and would floor it on the third light and man it would spin a few feet and then bite but on the street it will lite up way to long when i do that i was getting a 2.4 at lacr i guess that sucks but i think she's breaking in now and weather was hot so is'nt there some kinda stuff you can spray on your tire to get it to grip i remember reading something about that a while ago
  17. cali, thanks! doe's your truck have 2 or 4wd?.. and springs or torsion bars?.. just curious cause i did'nt expect torsion bars on my 2wd also i found the drop spindles at summit for $222.39 + $9.95 shipping and would ship same day from there nevada wherehouse meaning i get it in 1-3 days as soon as my budget allows i'm ordering them from summit. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...r=1#Application
  18. i guess i'll have to experiment with stock rear tires and see if it helps or hurts my e.t. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Borrow someones 26" diameter slicks and try them out. You will be amazed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i don't know anyone with slicks i could borrow can i bolt on a set of 15" or 16" wheels on the back?.. i think it would be easier to get slicks for those size's instead of a 17" (sold them anyway) i might consider it if traction becomes an issue at the track?.. it was hooking up realy nice when i went.. i guess because of the melted rubber but on the street is a different story it will spin when ever i step on it for 20-30 feet.. or more if i brake stall it although ripping it from a stop is cool for showing off, it sucks hardcore when i want to race someone
  19. i finaly lowered mine in the rear i did it my self it only took an hour and a half to do it including shortning the bump stops and eliminating there brackets (i only took off 1 nub from the bump stops) it's realy cool that the factory set up the truck to do it easily now i just got to lower the front of my truck.. i found out it don't have springs but torsion bars instead on a 2wd belltech said it might and sure enough when i looked they were right!. i'm still not gonna do the torsion keys from what i can tell from everyone else's post.. i don't think i'll be happy with that. so i'm going to do the spindles like i originaly planned.. here's some pics for now.
  20. not a trick if you don't believe it thats up to you going down hill i can get 49-50mpg's... you don't see me post that my old 2003 5.3 silvy with 3.73's got 21.5 from LA to houston at a steady 80mph.. if i would have slowed it down to say 68-70 like i was in my new truck i know it would have been better then the 23 i just recorded, at 80 it gets like 19mpg. all i'm saying is i know what i got and it is possible.. if you drive like a parranoid old lady fuel economy has everything to do with driving habits, i average 14mpg with all my driving mixed (city, hwy, burnouts! ) but it's great when i'm on the freeway and not in a hurry
  21. i agree with Kaotik.. thats what i'm going with on mine, belltech 2" drop spindles and i'm going with the addco sway bars front and rear. i would stay away from the rear shackles, IMO they add to much travel to the spring and allow it to flex a bit more.. which is bad for handling. i would do the 2" drop hangers instead would cost a bit more and not an easy install but worth it. i had the shackles on my 05 and hated them lucky for me my V-max had a 2" block factory, so all i did was remove the block and use shorter U-bolts to lower it 2" in the back
  22. at the risk of sounding stupid.. what exactly is "drafting" do you mean drifting i just don't get it <{POST_SNAPBACK}> drafting is a technique used in nascar by riding the persons ass in front of you and the air flow is being all hit by the other person and going over you dreating less drag and better mpg! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> now i get it.. but i was'nt doing that people were passing me doing 68-70mph on the 14 is realy slow average speeds are 80 and you still get passed doing that!. but with these gas prices i'm ok with driving like a little old lady on a long trek if it gets me well over 20mpg's otherwise driving like i use to get's me about 18mpg and i'm not going to give up 5mpg's to save 5 minutes + i eat up enough gas when i'm having fun with it
  23. talk about not knowing when to ease off the throttle and countersteer:nonod: i'm not even going to get into how big a this guy is!... what a shame that was a kick ass truck R.I.P.
  24. MR. P. and detjoe... i noticed you both have 03's i'm assuming there awd right?.. if so i could see the huge improvemnt the TB TC would make but i some time have trouble getting my 2wd to grip now!.. so i'm not sure if this will help me so much as it would hurt me?.. also i do tow some cars once and a while and with the trailer that gets over 4000lb's easily and usualy for long distances to.. so driving in third gear for a couple hundred miles don't seem to appealing to me i'm not sure if this is a mod i want to do right now so we'll see what the future holds but thanks for the info guys
