I would guess that with the 5 speed you could pick up some milage if you had the gearing right. The NV4500 is a very tough trans, but doesn't like to be shifted hard. It is considerably stronger than the NV3500, but still a purpose built truck transmission.
so trying to get one for performance purposes would'nt be a good idea?.. could'nt switch to a heavier clutch (centerforce or similar) or switch the shifter to something like a b&m or hurst?.. for some occasional track use?... i probably won't do it anyway but it was always a thought in the back of my head

Order me a SS in red. Cant wait till they come out. Only bad part is the mark up there are going to have for the 1st yr... i think i'll have to wait until the lease is up on my impala.. so i'll be looking at them in sept 2010.
with 292hp even the v6 sounds like it would be a fun car.. i had a 96 bird with 200hp 3.8 and a 5 spd, and it was fun to drive, imo.Yeah, bro the t-tops are an awesome option.yeah i had the t-tops on the bird and a older camaro i had back in the day and i always loved them.

If it's a 5 speed it's an NV4500.

i've driven one of those 2500hd 5spd's and it was a little weird at first but fun.. i was always curious as to how much power and abuse they can handle?.. and also if there would be any performance or mileage gains with the 5spd?.

Cops are people just like the rest of us, they just chose the only job, besides a solider, where they could get shot just for doing their job and I respect that, so there aint nothing wrong with them, or anyone, pouring back a cold one from time to time.

The tread is decent but they are cracking slightly due to their age. The wheels are American Racing but I can't remember the model number. They are in great condition and are a good looking wheel IMO.

i would guess there about 34-37lbs based on what i can tell from my web search?... afa a trade goes, i'm really looking to sell them cause i need the cash right now.. how is the tread on your tires and what brand are they?. maybe if i feel i could sell yours faster then mine i'd be interested, but i need some more details.

i aint no proffesional fisherman either but i've gone at least once or twice a year, nothing serious though, usualy just off the dock or shore.. once i went deep sea fishing and got sick and spewed right on the deck!
i was lucky enough that no one was there when i puked so i gathered my composure and walked to the other side of the boat and did'nt tell no one.. but in my defense we went to dennys before we got on the boat and the water was rough, we were going up and down like 3-5'
