  1. Well there seems to be an overwhelming liking to crossbreed, which I have ordered two holsters from- the bedside one (SO tired of it under my pillow! And yes, I'm aware I'm paranoid ) and the super tuck. The bed one will house my glock 19, since it has a guide rod laser ;) and I'd prefer to carry the glock 19 at all times but the XD is a lot smaller.... I'm not a "big" guy, kind of skinny so I'm skeptical of how well it conceals (6'0" 170 lbs). BUT now that I'm looking at my kydex IWB abdominal holster, is the super tuck specifically for SOB carrying? I guess my hip/side is okay... But for my purposes I prefer abdominal for comfort, position, and security. In a big shop, dark none the less, i can't always be watching my back. So I feel more secure with it in front of me than accessible from behind me
  2. So I work very late at night in my shop, often alone. Seeing all the nice cars and equipment around always keeps me worried about theft- especially when I'm there at night. I need a holster I can wear while working on cars, painting, sitting, running, whatever. I have a paddle from fobus I wear sometimes, it's OWB and can get in my way or fall out while I'm laying under cars- not to mention it's not exactly concealed. Then I have a kydex IWB abdominal holster that is great for retention, concealment, and stays in place great. But for sitting, and leaning over fenders it sucks. But it's my holster for daily carry and works great. So who's got what gun? Do you carry, maybe work with it? I'm looking for any and all feedback here. Want to know more before I buy any more holsters oh, and my two main carry pistols are the Glock 19 and springfield xd 9mm 3" subcompact. So, let's hear it!
  3. Sounds like a very nice, clean car I had a friend who worked for me who had an 02' WS6 in white. We had it running low 11s with only a heavy cam, 243 ported heads,, big stall, fast intake, and some headers. So assuming you will get the modding bug again (you can't escape it lol!) you'll be there in no time you posted pics of it anywhere? I love those fbodies on c5z wheels
  4. i have never really seen pictures of your truck... i really like the look its got going- its very clean always loved the Z06 brake conversions too also, cute gaurd dog
  5. those look pretty sick your truck looks GREAT with those replica 22s, keep them going FTW!
  6. My personal favorite is the "audiobhan" windshield decal..... If I had a dime for every customer I have with cars like that......
  7. DONT DO IT!!!!!! DAN PLEASE PLEASE NO
  8. You've had that thing perfected for years, give it a break! Every time you'd post everone was like "psh Kelley who, chase FTW!!" But seriously, like it is but powder coat centers of grille blk and leave a polished edge IMO

  10. Thanks for all the good wishes everyone! my facility is almost done, just need to bury the dyno and get all setup. Then I can build the website, which I'd LOVE to put all your pictures of your vehicles on both "customer photos" section as well as incorporated into the page backgrounds and such I'll keep you posted
  11. Ugh I know WE don't, but if it wasn't what the "general population" wanted then you figure it wouldn't have been on something like the superbowl
  12. Yeah I am keeping the SSS honestly I could never bring myself to sell it. Ever. I'll live in it before I sell it lol. So I'm selling my 05 silvy ex cab 5.3 instead. I really like the harley truck. It's got a lot of nice mods so I dont even need to touch it! (well, who am I kidding, I mod EVERYTHING lol ) so I bought it with: billstien adjustable struts / shocks, groundforce drop springs, groundforce huge sway bars, omega triple train horns, Giovanna 26" wheels, pioneer z1 navi , kicker 5 channel amp, pioneer components, JL stealthbox, k&n cai, dynatech LTs, JBA catback, HIDs, Clifford g5 alarm, and some other stuff I forgot. Gotta love gov't auctions and diamond smuggling!
  13. I am with ya.... Absolutely awful fergie is repulsive and can't sing or perform at all. Anyone else have the old black eyed peas from late 90s/00s?? It was before furgie ruined it and was great! So sad what Americans want to see on tv lately IMO On another note, great great game. And winning all my bets was great too lol
  14. Seeing this scared me, but I'm glad to hear there were no major issues found with you. I know how this stuff sucks, especially having to sleep in a hospital bed keep your head up man- you certainly had someone looking out for you and your safety. I hope all stays well for you. after all.... Your TOTM this month, it's a celebration !!!
  15. Here's my setup... I used trailblazer ss housings, OEM z06 bulbs and ballasts. Made brackets from small pieces of aluminum.
  16. So I went to pull the Harley truck out of the garage after waxing it and I almost smashed right into this!!!
  17. i havent been active on the forum for awhile, been pretty busy with doctors and with the business. but now i hope to be on the forum at least several times a week, and thought id share with you what we have been up to. since parting ways with the Chevy franchise, the independant car sales and service thing never really took off. it was okay, but wasnt really the booming place like it has been in the past for so long. so the family has decided to move our service department and high-end car sales to our collision center which is only seven tenths of a mile away. the service center is for all makes and models, has a price garuntee (will beat any advertised price or written quote). the car sales is going to be small, mainly high-end exports to europe and asia. however, we deal in a unique way with the sales as well- if you want a specific car, or even have a good idea of what you want- we will find it and make it yours. from a corolla to a zr1, we will track the exact vehicle down and deliver it to the customer. no hassling, no compromising; tell us what car(what color, transmission, submodel, options, etc), what youd like to spend, and when youd like to take delivery. this way we dont need to keep an inventory, no salesmen to get in the way who, well honestly just bother customers lol. i know when i go to a dealership im dreading having to deal with the salesmen then there is performance! we will be moving the dyno, which will now be in its own area burried in the ground, as apposed to having to drive on a lift then backing onto the dyno. also will have new lifts, new shop area, all in the collision facility property. so hopefully it wont be long until i get it all setup, and we can start selling performance parts, performance packages, dyno runs/tunes, and all things performance! we are hoping to be up and running by the end of febuary. in the mean time i am going to become a vendor on here, and you will be hearing more about the performance center and about the SSS.com discounts, packages, and prices. i hope that i have earned some trust on the board from the years that ive been here, and some credit for whatever knowledge i actually have so thats what ive been up to, and we hope to become a respected vendor on here with the best prices on parts and labor around! please shoot me an email or PM if you have any questions. thanks for your time if you read this far
  18. ok i will get pics of them all as soon as i can... but all you get in the mean time is crappy camera phone pics this is in my garage (hayabusa is proof ;) ) so hence proof im telling the truth
  19. Eh I guess I'm just going to have to tat up my right hand now
  20. I know I'm gunna get flammed for this.... So I posted it here first lol pictures will come later. But on to the point! My chevy truck is for sale.... I got a ford Harley truck! it's a funny story but I can tell that later with the pictures. Hey, you can't be that mad... I could've gotten a Toyota or Nissan truck So let's get it over with lol, come on I can take the heat lets hear it
  21. Yeah sometimes you got to use it it looks okay, other than tearing the bed up it wouldn't have hurt to have some kind of bed liner I've got a bed rug and a cover that comes off easy. I've worked with my SSS far too much. But the more it's pushed, it never has an issue surprisingly. I've put anything from lifted golf carts to hundreds of gallons of jet fuel.... also tows a 30' utility trailer that weighs about 10-11k lbs loaded. Granted, the hitch has pulled on the frame a little.. My ride height is just as low- you need some helper bags or stiffer leafs
  22. Not a problem just let me know. I may even have a spare set in my toolbox too
  23. I use: Engine oil- 5w-30 mobil1... Always and only on all my cars, and of course all customers I also like Lucas oils, however they are quite pricey. IMO, stay away from Royal Purple. As have built quite a few engines in my time, 90% of the engines we consistently used RP in, all had started developing deposits and sludge- even within 4000 miles... Trans fluid- Always use whatever the OEM calls for. In most cases, the OE made fluid is usually the best choice. In our SSS case, GM Dextron VI is king. I know you all see synthetic this, synthetic ATF that... All brands saying "faster shifts! Firmer shifts!" is NOT actually the case. Flush the trans and replace filter every 20k if normal driving/minimal towing. Flush system and replace filter even sooner if racing, towing, or just driving Iike an a$$ frequently Diff fluid: 75W-90 mobil1 synthetic AND 4 oz. Limited slip additive. GM manual now calls the diff "lifetime" service interval... But that's a bad idea if you drive any other way than your grandmother. Flush diff fluid every 20k-30k. I simply do it when I flush the trans on my personal vehicle (every 10k-15k). Spark plugs: On a stock truck I'd use the stock iridium AC Delco plugs (p/n: 41110). These are great as they have a service life of up to 70k miles. On a lightly modified to boosted truck, I'd use NGK TR6's (p/n: 4177). They are great for boosted applications, and in many cases for me, i can add several additional degrees of timing or get rid of light knock retard. Also they are only $2 a plug! Plug wires: It seems (ESP. On this forum) that a plug wire upgrde is a "power mod". This is absolutely false. The stock LQ9/LQ4 wires are more than ideal. This also goes for upgrded coils (MSD, Accel). These do not add power. However, they look great! I've found that more times than not, aftermarket wires just don't fit on the plug as well as OEM. But if you want some color, absoutly grab some nice MSD or Taylor wires. They can really add color under the hood. So unless color is important to you, get a set of OEM wires and call it a day Other items: Brake fluid: should not ever be mixed (Especially synthetic mixed with regular fluid!) IMPORTANT that dot 4 not be mixed with dot 3, for example. Also if you must add a little bit of fluid bc your low, try to use the same brand same dot rating. Mixing these could lead to brake failure and even necessary replacement of parts. So, to sum it up- if your going to change the fluid, flush the entire system with it. I recommend using Motul dot 4/5 in trucks that see track time, drag racing, and heavy towing. For regular use, any dot 3 is fine really. Flush the fluid when you change pads and/or every year to prevent moisture build up Coolant: GM rates your OE Dxcool good for 5 years/100k. Dexcool is great, but I would reccomend doing a system flush every 2 years/30k to prevent corrosion and deposits in the heads/block and the rest of the cooling sysem. Make sure you use ORANGE Dexcool in your truck it's very important! For cold climates use 50/50 Dexcool to distilled water. Using distilled water instead of tap water is critical to prevent corrosion and build up. For warmer climates that don't see freezing, you can use 30/70 Dexcool to distilled water. NEVER run straight water (or straight water with a "wetter" additive) without using Dexcool- you will get heavy deposits and corrosion!
