  1. i love everything but you gotta get those headrests done with the right logo
  2. the single best thing you can do for an escalade is painting all that ridiculous chrome! sounds like a badass truck
  3. so what method did you choose for lowering it?
  4. wow i have never seen a drum separate like that! thats crazy lol. cool project car, ive always loved those bel airs keep us posted
  5. i LOVE your truck! it makes me want to buy a reg cab for a DD keep up the great work
  6. beautiful bike i had an 06 black raven, absolutely great bikes. lowering it was the best thing i ever did (more pictures! )
  7. beautiful work as usual yeah those escalade headlight assemblies are outrageous lol! but if you think those are expensive, check out the platinum escalade headlights, everything is 100% LED, coolest light ive ever seen!!
  8. the lights look really nice man your work is always great. by the sound of it we have a similar process the little tricks really do make them "night and day" difference taping them off is a pain and takes time but it is really worth it if we are talking legalities and not getting pulled over. using a process like these really does make light much more visible and bright, but the reflector cant be painted hardly at all to still be "technically" legal. but this process will usually keep the actual lights bright enough for the law ;) did it with the same goal in mind as you, but did a stock set for mine to experiment with reflectiveness. conforms to all the laws but looks black during day entirely, just not LED and cool as those lights you did those are the stock incadecent bulbs, i put some 80-LED bulbs in there, big difference. might be brighter than stock lights/housings
  9. i just wanted to say, that a month or two ago i finally got some of the Adams products. i have used a vast array of detailing products, from mothers to professional products we use in detail dept. i havent had the chance to use the high speed buff products yet but intend to very soon. im going through the waterless wash and detail spray like water but my truck is always clean now id always thought Dylan's work was incredible, even for the lengthy and thorough process. keep up the good work! meanwhile 20% of my pay will continue to go into detail spray ...... look at that shine!
  10. ah the ever-so-poor 4L65e... designed (other than electric valve body, TCC, etc) in the late 80s/early 90s for cars with 200 hp at best... its too bad it took GM over 2 decades to replace it with a modern trans. it seems no matter who builds one or with what parts you build, if your making power and your drag racing or dogging the car even rarely- KABOOOOOOOOOOOOM! good news that all you needed was the forward sprag, you got off easy! ive started looking into what would be needed to swap to the 6L85/90e... swap some paddles in for the "tap up tap down" feature they have
  11. i didnt even see this quote the first time lol! if you get it to me somehow, ill take care of it ;) it is honestly hard to find a body shop that really cares about the quality of their work, not just getting paid for it. if your serious about it, shoot me a PM or give me a call Looking forward to it! on another note, i always hear about these meets on the west coast, but no one ever gets together down here!! whats it take to put a FL SSS memeber gathering together??? hell, ill host it even! we can have a car show, dyno, barbeque meet
  12. wow guys thank you for the compliments, they mean alot to me as to the color of the tip.... was not my idea. my idea was to send the calipers and tip out to get copper plated, then force them into 1-1.5 years of aging. this was the customers alternative to plating... lol. it looked better in his mind. he didnt like it either once he saw it... just finished welding some 4" double wall tips in place of the single tip, polished. it looks alot better! tomorrow morning i am going to be tweaking the ride height and detailing it. then it will really show it colors pictures do this car no justice
  13. awesome car, i had one and absolutely had nothing bad to say about it. FYI, a tune, intake, and cat-back will put it in the neighborhood of 300 whp ;) and the tune is the bigest chunk of that, adds like 40 whp by itself with no mods, easy the cobalt ss t/c is available in auto ;)
  14. yeah that always aggravates me a bit too... but if any truck HAD to have one on it, i'd see the Denali most worthy and two elaborate on that, the only vehicle that will put my SSS into storage for me to drive will be the Sierra Denali EDIT: lets all not forget that most of the fakers cant even put them on right side up! at least this guys truck isnt the "55" edition
  15. thats great lol i checked those forums out too, which is just as great
  16. thats a pretty truck ive always liked the design and style of those wheels
  17. as some of you know, i was t-boned by a huge garbage truck a few months back so the truck was down for a few weeks. i added some new little tricks to it while it was apart, and have some big plans for it in the near future. my hope is that i can finish it in time for SEMA, assuming i can lock in my two places there... anyway i just thought id post some pics of it, it has to have been at least 1 year since i have really been active on here, let alone posted some photos the other day i painted an SS emblem gloss black to see how it would look... since everything on my car is one of the 3 colors, except the calipers, i figured it would "tie" in better. so what do you guys think? leave it aluminum or do them black...? heres my back up camera. it used to be attatched to the roll pan, but it always bothered me... so i made a beveled hole in the roll pan and installed in from behind. i also changed the license plate lights. i embedded two l.e.d modules at a 45 deg angle through the pan. in person it looks really nice IMO down in south florida the troopers have started giving issues for painted tail lights. so i looked up the laws, and found out there is nothing against painting the lights themselves. as long as you keep the light output high enough, the only other thing required is having 2 red reflectors on the rear of the vehicle. so i masked off the reflector on the bottom of the light, and cleared over it with a little black candy mixed into the clear. from the rear or side a few feet away, you cant even see the reflectors. but if you look up close, you can see them. and yes sir they work great. problem fixed! takes a while to paint these but worth it IMO! on a side note, for those of you who dont know- this is what i do for a living. if you need ANYTHING done or have any questions feel free to shoot me a PM or an email
  18. and heres the engine!! its due to get a vortech but the customer wanted to wait on that. anyway, we matched the fuel rail covers to the Balloon White and did the manifold gloss black. the letters are blank/white because i am still waiting on the new black decals so that is all the pictures i have with me, but there will be many more this week once i finish the car. it seems to get a whole lot of attention so i figured id share it with some people who truely appreciate this kind of work your thoughts and comments are very welcome, as well as constructive criticism i will be active on here more often again like old times, so look for more threads following some of the builds in the shop, if you guys like seeing them!
  19. and heres the (somewhat) final product! its still got a few things to get finished but... here you can see the width of the front fender- its VERY OEM which was the goal in designing these. we kept the OEM lines and basically just carefully moved them out 1.5" and made other little touches more aggressive where it was needed in our opinion the spoiler began as a factory OE ZR1 spoiler, that was brought out and made more aggressive, but still nice and subtle ;) continued....
  20. just a warning, this is LONG and has many pictures! here is the latest build i have in the shop. we have built a couple of them now, and i personally really like the kits. this is a 2011 base model corvette LS3 6spd, originally black in color. this vette has had a complete transformation into a beautiful Supervette. the car has a custom, hand made widebody kit. it is approximately 1.5" wider than the ZR1 on each side (total 3" front/back). its all made of fiberglass, and all the panels are actually lighter than the stock plastic panels, and about the same as the Z carbon front fenders. we use the OEM Z06 front facia, and keep the rear OEM facia (they are all the same). the front splitter, rocker extensions, and rear diffuser are also custom hand made pieces. these all model after the ZR1, but are slightly more aggressive than the ZR1. the color is called Balloon White, its a semi-gloss white pearl 3 stage paint, with GM gloss black on the roof, b pillar, hood and front facia. okay enough talking, what do you all think? the widebody and custom parts began with priming and sanding... the car was completely stripped down as we always do, as to get NO paint/clear lines and cover 100% of the panels, all to keep it looking OEM and in the booth next to the vette, we have the custom parts all ready to spray- then after the 120+ hours of prep work, it was time to mix the beautiful pearl!! the tail lights getting ready for our unique process- the new Z06 calipers ready to become flat black and the final product of the lights... this is the hand made exhaust tip for the diffuser brake calipers ready to go test fitting the tip- continued......
  21. looks awesome! that is on the top of my mod list, and your making me want it even more lol
  22. ive actually gotten the chance to line up next to one at a stop light... i was in my ZR1 back in 09' when they just came out. he pulled me off the line (id hope so), i spun through first. hit second hard and immediately began pulling slowly and didnt stop pulling away until i let off at top of 3rd only advantage that car has is the AWD, but unfortunately after the first year of production they will void your warranty if you use "launch control", and even if you do- the launch control is lowered like 3k RPMs from what it was. they did this because there is a line down the street at nissian dealers for busted transfer cases. my neighbor was an engineer for the gt-r project and has told me stuff im sure they would really really dislike if it was posted
  23. x2 on wishing it was built in white.... *sigh*
  24. well this is a tuff race here... clean and simple trucks, just the right way
