  1. Thanks again guys. I too am disappointed in the lack of sport trucks...I suppose due to the cost of fuel. I did like the pics I saw this month in Truckin magazine of the concept Silv SS with a 7.0 liter, reg cab, and a 6-speed!
  2. Thanks Eamonn....I can't believe how long it is taking for you to get my ol' truck over there!? You must be going crazy at this point! Those guys are probably driving it around on the boat... I'm still good on the chocolate....it was great! Let me know when you get it and let me know when the NOS goes on....
  3. It is kinda funny (but not unexpected) to see a bit of hatred pour out about Fords. I've owned alot of Fords and Chevys and I like them both. I know that isn't PC. I still can't go the Dodge route however. Too much plastic, and too ugly. Nash SS--I did look at the HD F-150, but that body style doesn't seem to be aging as well as the Lightning. The steering wheel in that truck looks like something out of a school bus. Also, the L can fit in my little garage and if my wife needs to drive it, she doesn't feel like she is driving a huge truck. MontanaSS---I agree with you. The previous owner went a little crazy with all the badging and stickers. He was a graphic designer and actually made the supercharged side emblems himself. In fact, he even had more stickers in the glovebox if I so desired! Time to get out the goo gone! As for plans...I'm not sure. Maybe powder coating the wheels black?
  4. You guys are the best! I hope the Lightning forums have good people like this one does.
  5. Thanks! Being an 04 with low miles and in mint condition I paid 27k. There were certainly cheaper ones in the low 20's, but none in this condition. It was basically like a brand new truck. He had alot of money in good mods too...full suspension lowering, wheels, volant intake, 6lb pulley, SCT tuner, Magnaflow catback, Kenwood DVD/CD w/amp/sub etc...., cobra hood with custom paint, all stock parts, and the truck is still under warranty (at the right dealer.... ). The thing I really have to get used to is with all the power it is putting out, I can't just floor it like I could in the AWD SS. I guess I'll have to practice a bit of technique!!
  6. Hey guys, I sold my SS and after a while of contemplating my next project truck, I went with an 04 Lightning. Ok, I know I'm a trader, but at least I didn't buy a Nissan Titan or Toyota Taco!! Here are a few pics of the new beast... I love the Here Hemi Hemi sticker on the back. Wish I had put that on my 05 SS....
  7. Well, console just sold on ebay. That didn't take long!
  8. Great banner Eamonn!! That truck looks very familar!
  9. I drive 130 miles each way to work so I bought a Kia (I know, I know ) and the SS just sat in the driveway. Also, the airline I work for isn't doing too well so I had to get some $$$ in the bank. I do miss the hell out of it! The new owner is a great guy and he joined the forum as well. I'm happy to know it went onto someone who will take care of it and continue the modding process!
  10. I know this sounds crazy, but I took out the SS center console and put this one in because at 6' 7" tall, I needed more room for my legs/knees and this was perfect. I'm now selling it since I sold the truck. It came out of a 99-02 model truck and is in great condition. There is a little paint missing from the bottom black metal frame..but that is completely hidden by the console itself. There are no scratches/dents/rips in the console itself and it is dark charcoal in color. It has a CD player, but I never used it since the SS had the Bose so I'm not sure if it works or not to be honest. I'm asking $265 shipped which is less than I paid for it on ebay when I bought it.....but this price is for forum members only. If anyone is interested in it, please PM me or email me at [email protected] Thx!
  11. $310 shipped. Never installed/painted or even taken out of the protective bubble wrap. A great way to save some cash! PM me or email me at [email protected]
  12. You are right....my buddy used to spank my FJR1300 with his Busa...and he thought he was Mr. Untouchable...until a turbo'd Busa ran up on him one day. There is always someone faster. What is important is that you can beat most of the people, most of the time.
  13. The gentleman buying the truck is flying in from England next week.....so I'm pretty sure it is sold, but if it doesn't I will post it back on the board. Thanks for your interest.
  14. I'm getting 13.5 in mostly highway driving w/ Radix, LT, pulley, AWD, and not babying it. I guess the radix doesn't hurt much on the mpg...especially since normally you run around in vacuum not even producing boost. I thought that was still pretty bad until I started trolling a bit on the SRT10 forums...they are getting 9-10mpg on a good day.
  15. A question....why in the world would someone put that in their photobucket album??!! Although gory, I think pics like that can be effective....it only took a few nasty pics of motorcycle wrecks for me to respect my FJR1300 quite a bit more. In fact, it took alot of the fun out of being on a bike for me...especially since it was so crazy riding around the Miami area.
  16. I'm holding the sale for now. One of the interested parties says he is committed to buying, sold his vehicle, and has cash ready to go. If it goes through or falls through I'll be sure to post. Thanks for your interest, Wes
  17. I really don't know what else there is really left to do to make it faster in its' current configuration other than adding NOS or something along that line. It might run 12's...but never having been to the track I just don't know at this point.
  18. The truck was dyno-tuned after installing the pulley (see the dyno chart above). I would guess high 12's, low 13's at the track though I've never taken it. It launches extremely hard for that first 30mph with no wheelspin. Even harder than my modded Lightning (sit and spin) and CL600 Benz (modded V-12 twin turbo) did. However, once the speed comes up, the sheer size/weight of the vehicle start to take its toll. Stoplight to stoplight, I would feel confident against most everything that rolls up except ZO6's, Vipers, motorcycles, etc... But, don't get the wrong impression. This truck hasn't been to the track, and I baby it 99% of the time. I just like to have the power there if I need it. One thing aviation has taught me is that if you abuse the equipment, it tends to abuse you back.
  19. Yeah...it is AWD. I appreciate you passing the word along. Several people have told me they are considering selling their SS to buy this one since it is (usually) newer and already has most of the desirable performance mods done to it. However, when they go to sell their own truck, they realize it isn't going to happen overnight and usually just end up keeping it. I'll admit it probably makes more sense to just mod your own. I'm really struggling to put the truck for sale in the autotrader because most people there will not appreciate the work done to it and won't even know what a Radix is. However, it might be fun to scare them on the test drive when they hear that blower+corsa for the first time!
  20. UPDATE: I'm reluctantly lowering the price of the truck to a firm $27,500 for forum members only. I'll give a week or two more on here and then it is going on auto trader/ebay. I really hate to sell it, but the airline I work is downsizing drastically and I think by January things are going to get ugly and I'll likely be unemployed. Anybody need an Airbus pilot?!
  21. Is that the Ebay dash bezel? I've been dying to get that to match my wheel, but my truck is still for sale so I guess it doesn't make sense for me to keep putting mods on it ....but I think that looks sweet! Looks like a good color match between the two as well. It would be nice to get just the matching piece for the door lock/power window piece too. I haven't found anywhere that just sells that piece without trying to sell the other 158 pieces of their wood trim kit!
  22. Did you ever get that new replacement wheel? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes...they exchanged the scratched one for another one, no problem. The only painful part was that I had to reinstall yet another wheel.
  23. You'll enjoy it. One of my best non-performance mods! Victor was great with customer service. Enjoy your wheel!
  24. Well, I don't find much humor in that picture, but at least the kid has a cool wheelchair!
