  1. I agree about the plastic handles, etc...not quite a finished product overall but gotta love another custom Silvy! I'm surprised to see that they boosted the engine but didn't beef up the tranny and this is going to be covered by the 3yr warranty? I doubt the tranny will hold up that long?
  2. Premo...nice use of the smilies The truck does not have a sunroof, and the horsepower is listed in my ad at 426awhp as shown in the dyno-graph. I'll send you a PM. JaySS--Not sure about the hitch cover. I'm the 2nd owner and it came with the truck. When in doubt try Ebay/California Car Cover (I think they sell custom hitches)/Street Scene/Summitt?
  3. Let me guess...I bet the little chihuahua is the boss!? Those are a great looking pair of dogs!
  4. I've gotta say......Miami is about the worst town when it comes to road rage and bad/stupid drivers. I'm an airline pilot and I've spent alot of time in hundreds of different cities in the U.S. and the only place that compares to the Miami drivers is foreign countries. I'm sure some of the south florida guys on here will agree? I can't say I'm immune to rage anymore. If someone cuts me off/tailgates/whatever....I love sneaking up on their driver's side (especially if their window is down) and then slamming the gas pedal down. Radix in full boost + loud as hell Corsa=me laughing at the shocked look on their faces!! I know I shouldn't but this truck makes me evil!
  5. I don't usually go for the aftermarket style headlights, but I think those look pretty good! Would be nice if the bottoms matched a little better.....but I think it is an improvement over stock, especially with the hood. I agree that the handles/steps don't flow too well, but I'm just not a big chrome lover anymore. The wheels are incredible. Great job !!
  6. Mine aren't grabbing and releasing...but I literally start to wear out my calf muscle just holding the pedal down at stoplights as it takes firm pressure to keep the truck from moving, and it takes firm pressure to bring it down from speed. I'm still suspicious that the idle is slightly high making things worse.
  7. This is my 2nd Silverado (first SS) and I notice that this one takes a lot more brake pedal pressure/effort to bring the truck to a stop? So much so that it feels like I might be in trouble if I had to really get it down to speed in a hurry. I think one thing that might be causing this is my idle seems a little high....I can release the brake and the truck starts rolling immediately. The revs at idle look decent though at 700-800. Any thoughts?
  8. Welcome! Looks like we are getting a rather large south florida SS community! I'm in Pembroke Pines and have seen quite a few SS Silvys around here. Now that the rains are slowing, I'm going to try to become a regular at the tower shops shows on Friday nights (Univ and 595). Can't make it this Fri though. I would love to see us get a group together at towers and moroso! I never seem to get challenged in my SS....except once by a Harley F-150, but I had my boss in the truck and I had already scared the hell out of him pulling out of Lowe's.
  9. If money is no object......a Ferrari vs. a Chevy...let me think about it....yup, I would go with the Ferrari. The ZO6 is a bad machine, but I've never seen a Ferrari roll by that didn't turn my head and have me lowering the radio to hear the sweet exhaust note (and there are alot of em' down here in S. FL). I wouldn't give the vette a second glace...although I wouldn't challenge him either! If money was an object and the car was to be driven alot, the ZO6 would be a much more logical choice.
  10. Paint it yellow and put a big bumblebee sticker on the back!!!
  11. I'm up in Pembroke Pines...I've seen another black SS roaming around here as well with some mods. I'm not sure on Moroso....hopefully that cold front doesn't come through tomorrow!
  12. What would be a typical labor charge to install those parts listed for the 2/2 drop? (DIY won't happen with my back). Also, I put shackles on my 99 4.8 Silverado and had bad driveline vibration. We tried shims to adjust the pinoin angle and nothing solved it so it was a waste of money for me. The shop had lowered quite a few trucks so we were both a little surprised by the problem. Has anyone experienced that problem with the 2/2 drop? Thx!
  13. I didn't see anyone hitting the 100k mark yet?! Must be the gas prices... 05 with 14k
  14. Truck looks much better! Nice drop! Stupid question, but what drop kit is that? Is that the Belltech 2/2 drop? Thx...
  15. Yeah...I like to go on Wednesday's because it isn't quite as crowded. It does kinda suck waiting all night in line to only get in one run! I work until about 7pm at MIA airport on Wed and then I plan on heading up if the weather cooperates.
  16. Yeah...I didn't think about posting until it was too late. The show was unbelievably packed last night. I think it was because of the nice weather (for once). The parking spots were filled by 7pm! I got a spot but it was a little away from the action. A kid asked to hear the Corsa exhaust so I revved it up a little and next thing I knew there were tons of people asking questions about the truck. Seems nearly everyone has a Silverado at home or at work these days. It would be great to get more SS trucks there. I go every Friday unless it is rainy. The only other Silvy there was a '90. I'm debating heading out to Moroso on Wednesday night. I've never had this truck at the track so I'm a little curious how it will run! Anyone else going?
  17. I'm going to do a quickie clean-up job and hang down at towers for a few hours tonight. Hoping to get a few trucks together. If you haven't been, it is on University and 595. I'll have the black SS parked next to all the Lightnings...
  18. Man...that was quite an impact. Hope nobody was on the passenger side when it happened!

    xrunner?

Xrunner's aren't the fastest pickup, but they have outstanding handling in the corners. I don't have the exact number, but if I remember right I think they pull nearly .90G in the skidpad!?
  20. Yes, I'll listen to offers.....but considering the amount invested in the truck, I am willing to wait for a buyer that can come very close to my asking price. Please send me a PM if you'd like.
  21. Sure thing Drako....we have to meet up at towers. There are way too many Lightnings up there! haha I'm sure I'll still be on the forum for a while....I'm not in a major rush to sell immediately and I'm not posting an ad on ebay/autotrader for a while, but if a buyer pops up via this forum, I'll let her go.
  22. My 2005 SS is for sale. It only has 14k miles and is in fantastic shape. I'm selling because my job now requires me to drive across FL to Naples all the time, so I bought a little commuter car and now the truck is just sitting all the time. This truck has about 60k invested since new (including purchase price). I'm asking $29,500 which is a great price for the year/miles/extras the truck has. Mods include: Radix supercharger dyno-tuned with 2.9" pulley (427 rwhp, 480 rwtq) Original Radix pulley included as well as original tuner. K&N intake/LS1 wire set/NGKTR6 plugs/Kevlar heat boots/160 stat Autometer Vacuum and Boost gauges Built perf transmission under warranty until May 07--all high quality parts used to build tranny to handle estimated 700 rwhp. Vigilante 2800 Converter Dynatech SuperMaxx long-tube headers Corsa cat-back Undercover tonneau/spray-in bed liner/hitch/SS hitch cover Shopman bowtie Custom Seat tracks-will allow much further drivers seat travel fwd/aft I'm 6'7"! Tires are in good shape and wheels are mint. Truck Zaino'd outside and interior is in mint condition. BSer rollpan (brand new and not installed yet) included Only one small scuff on right corner of back bumper....otherwise truck is mint. Truck is running great and extremely strong. I'm not willing to part it out at this time. Thanks for reading!
  23. With a 4.8L, and driving on 20" SS wheels, my 99 Silverado became as slow as a slug...even with mods. I might upgrade wheels and inch or two, but beyond that it certainly doesn't seem worth the price you pay in performance/braking/etc...
