  1. All mentioned are good options imo....If your planning on really driving then I'd say get a late model...I just saw a commercial for the new CTS-V coupe and its nice looking.

The nice thing about the classics is that $20 grand you spend will probably be worth at least $20 grand if not more when you get tired of it and want to sell. Versus that $40 grand on a new car that likely won't be worth $20 grand when its time to sell.

  2. I think its just because the trucks aren't necessarily the cheapest; if you wanted a work truck they could've picked one up for cheaper then an SSS. But regardless, if they liked the truck and thats why they bought it good for them. I wouldn't put one of those on my truck, however I bought one for my dad to put on his Dodge Ram.. haha.

very true...and for the record i wouldnt rock one either but maybe it's the guy's only option at this point? times are tough out there.

  3. hadn't seen this post till today.

I say good run with him. Consistering the mods you have. Get rid of the superchips, and get a good tune. You will see a huge difference in the performance of your truck once you get a custom tune. If we run with them from a roll at 40-50, they will kill us. Our trannys really blow at the speed. At least mine does... The new T's have, correct me if I'm wrong, a 6 speed tranny? We only have a 4 speed. I know whenever I downshift at those speeds, it sucks! That's our weak spot. From 20-35, that's a different story. Our trannys can downshift like a monster. There is a big difference from 65 and 75 mph too. At 75 mph, our trucks pull extremely hard up to 120+. Mainly because we are at our torque curve.

I'm definately a fan of any 6 speed auto but it really depends on what gear ratio and stall converter you have....that is my sweet spot with 4.56 gears and a looser converter considering im shifting into 3rd at roughly 65 mph.

ive read what youve guys said about those other tuneers, my consern has to do with one thing:can i put it back to stock if i have to go back to the dealership and when i go get it smoged?

you have 6 years in cali until you have to worry about smog check...just keep an extra pcm if your concerned about the dealer reflashing yours.

  4. Whats the right offset? And how can I get a 2/3 drop kit?

Not sure on the wheel offset....Im not running 24's and what offset is available may differ from one wheel manufacturer to the next.

Pretty sure there is no exact kit either...Im sort of assuming then your going to run drop spindles and leaf packs to achieve 2/3 drop in which case you can just order them seperately without much trouble.

Maybe someone with an AWD setup on a 2/3 drop will chime in with part numbers for you. Might need to relocate carrier bearing too.
