  1. And available date was just posted to be mid 2014
  2. Ok guys, a local shop is going to make a run at some 24" SSS reps. Here is a pic of one they finished up recently. He is estimating $2200 approximately WITH TIRES. So I'd say $1600 without tires. Now all this is pre-info. Knowing him he will go ahead with the production of these since business is good and the demand here in Cali for big rims and the truck scene is growing. I will keep you guys updated if and when they are available. Oh and Maniac SS you know them well, it's where you got your Nittos
  3. My tuner gave me the option but I passed. I'm all performance, all the time lol.
  4. This^ just to add one piece of info to the above is yes the Radix's are known for creating heat and heat is the enemy for efficiency and power. What I did to combat that is I have an 03/04 Caddy CTS-V heat exchanger behind my grille looped into the Magnuson provided larger heat exchanger that comes with the kits mounted to frame towards front bumper. My IAT's as you'll hear (Internal Ambient Temperature) runs around 115-130 cruising. 140 on boost and comes down quickly because of the extra cooling capacity. So yes there are ways to combat heat with the Radix if you choose that direction. Also keep in mind that I don't see covered above is that you will also need a new fuel pump. Being 05 you have an in-tank fuel pump. Most guys go with the Walbro 255 or there is also the Walbro 450 but with a TVS 2300 alone the 255 should be enough. If you see in 2003 super sports sig he mentions an in-line fuel pump. That is because only in 2003 the SSS had it "in-line" 2003s also had an actual external fuel filter you could change whereas the 04-06 and 07 classics have a "sock" which is in-tank. The Walbro 255 includes a new sock. You will need to drop the actual gas tank to swap them out or remove the bed like I did. Also just to clear something up I see you may have a confusion on is tuning. Lets say you buy a new kit, install yourself and use the hand-held supplied programmer to tune. This is only going to tune for the blower, not a converter if also added. You would need to contact a reputable tuner to tune for all your mods.
  5. Yes sir, Eddie (SS truck) just bought a bran new TVS 2300 for his SSS from Brian at the above link. He was 100% satisfied.
  6. Not sure what your budget is but call here and ask for Brian, tell him Aaron Patrick sent you. He will give you the best deal on a new kit and is a stand up guy. http://www.superchargersonline.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=506_1077_1301_1516_1521 If you are looking for a used TVS kit I'd suggest performancetrucks.net website or PT.net FaceBook group. There you may be able to find a used kit.
  7. No no not at all, It just depends on what type of look you like . I like a tire that is proportional to the width of the rim. Not too wide or too narrow. On a 10" wide rim a 305 width looks perfect for my taste. On a 9" wide rim I prefer a 295 tire. But this is because I'm on a 3/4 drop. If you go lower you need a smaller tire which the above^ guys would know best since they are lower. If you are at stock height I wouldn't go any wider. Common sizes guys run are 305/40/22 on a 10" wide or 295/45/22 on a 9" wide.
  8. TBSS=22x9 SSS Reps=22x10 So keep this in mind when choosing a tire size.
  9. Just got the call, the SoCal Ambassador is a new SoCal Ambassador hahahaha, got it !
  10. Try and find the 90mm j-tube on performancetrucks.net website or PT.net FaceBook group. It'll be much less $ to buy a used one there then from Magnuson directly. One other piece of info I always repeat that I don't see covered above is you being an 05 you have the return-less style fuel system. So try and find a Radix that is return-less. You can easily buy the fuel manifold piece to swap out if you buy a "return" style unit but it's a waste of $$. I made that mistake. Now if you are seriously committed to a blower I'd suggest to build it backwards like how I did. And I know many people here have opinions and bad experiences with PerformaBuilt Transmissions but I replaced my LKQ junkyard trans with one of these before the blower so I could enjoy it and not worry when it was gonna go out. Now can this built trans break still? Absolutely, just depends on tuning, driving habits and maint. So do keep in mind once you are blown more than likely that will be the beginning of the end of your 65E. Not trying to be rude or not helpful, just realistic. I'm not sure how new you are to this truck game so just saying. And I can tell you the Maggie tune is a very respectable tune. It was created by John Germanson, Magnuson's old tuner, he unfortunately passed away in 08 BUT he was able to train to my current tuner who has taken John's principle's of simplicity and applied it to how he tunes me.
  11. Yeah Factory Repro's FTW and no OEM TBSS rims will not fit, reps will.

Well I hope I was able to help answer your questions about the drop. I tried to be as specific and clear as possible. And yes you have come to the right place. By far this forum and the people here are unique in a great way. Some of my closest local friends I have made are through meeting others from this site. I have even met out of state members who I have welcomed to my own home that I have never even met before. And in person they live up to their postings. I always make it a point to try and welcome new people because I understand that they have valid questions and they just really don't know. And there is nothing wrong with that. Always feel welcome to post up even the most basic question. Yes you may get a "search button is in top right corner" reply but most of all people here are willing to help. Willing to offer advice from their trial and errors as to what works or doesn't work. Also the people here are very educated on these trucks. Plus the VHOs and SSS share a similar platform year to year as the SSS. Glad to have you here.
  14. Definitely off topic but I thought I'd share as it is truck related somewhat. So as some of you know I have been branded as the SoCal Ambassador lmao. The name came about a few years back. Danny (hpjunky) made it up hahaha since I was always the organizer of the SoCal meets and since I do have a few connections for deals and stuff here in SoCal. Well, I'm in the interview process for a weekend job and the title is....... "Brand Ambassador of Southern California" Oh man did I have a laugh during my phone interview. Anyway, if I do get it I'm probably going to keep my truck since I'll have a supplemental income. Just thought I'd share. Have a good one.......... -Aaron

If you go the new route this is the cheapest place you will find and be able to rest assured you are buying from a stand-up guy. He may even have a used one. I remember the last I spoke to him he mentioned he did. But no promises.
