  1. Try a wet rag, works for me, as long as the wax/polish is water soluable...
  2. Hey guys, Pep Boys is running a special right now: 5 quarts RP motor oil any weight plus an RP oil filter for $49.95 Oil filter # 10-44 for the SS Not bad, just need a 6th quart at $8.99 Anyways thought I'd share, I picked up the special this weekend.
  3. I did mine on Sat. Did it when cold. Removed lower radiator hose let all drain. Started it up, thermo opened rest drained, once started to overheat stuck the garden hose in reservior and let it run for 30 mins. until the water drained crystal clean. That how to has too many steps IMO. I will probably do mine every 30K. 50/50 premixed Dex-Cool was $11.99 a gallon at Pep Boys. Took 2.5 gallons, there's the poor man's radiator flush lol. $40 total.
  4. Sunday 11am, I'm headed south on Van Nuys Blvd at Magnolia at red light. 06 Silver Birch headed north, limo tint, chrome bowtie up front. He was hauling plywood in the bed, anyone here??
  5. yep! http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=54275
  6. The K&N oil filters have anti-drainback valves to prevent dry startups as well....
  7. Thanks again Fireman!! Through Summit the plugs were $5.95 each, MSD wire set, pre-cut was $68.95
  8. Well I would definitely do it man! When I 1st got my SS at 56K I changed it and it was black filthy. Looked like it was never changed before. Put 5K on new diff. oil and did it again yesterday and damn pretty dirty again. Don't think it was ever changed, those get overlooked. Maybe when he said $90 for oil he was meaning for both front and rear diff. since you're AWD. Sounds about right. My 06 is RWD so it has a drainplug which is so nice. I will post Mr. P's "How-To" link for you just in case you haven't seen it. Just run a fully synthetic 75-90w gear oil with NO additive. RP is $19 a quart and Mobil 1 $17 a quart. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...=15898&st=0 rear http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15972 front http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26745 oil
  9. Hey Fireman and Wicked, thanks guys for this help. Very informative! Just ordered through Summit my MSD wire set MSD-32829 and AC Delco plugs ACF-41-985. Just one question, do I need to gap them since they are OEM?
  10. Me and my wife.... http://www.piloteando.tv/galerias2009/cali...ndexGallery.htm went to this car show if anyone interested...
  11. After reading your post you inspired me. My SS is at 61K. So today: 1. Flushed my coolant, plus added a Prestone's "Super Flush" to clean it out good. Refilled it with 2.5 gallons premixed 50/50 Dex-Cool. 2. Diff. oil change. 4 quarts of Royal Purple 75-90w. 3. Engine oil change with 6 quarts RP 5-30w and K&N HP-1007 oil filter 4. Tire rotation, did it myself too, air pressure adjustment 5. New 4" diameter dry air filter for CAI 6. Brake inspection, 10mm left on fronts, rear drums done at 56K so didn't mess with that. 7. Trans. oil change 100% flush, gasket, filter, parts washed pan at 59K by mechanic, too involved to do at home lol 8. New wiper blades. Whew what a day, so much fun though! Thanks for the inspiration...
  12. Hey Nekro, well we are just waiting for Justin with more details. It's definitely happening....
  13. Hey there, sorry if this question is redundant. I bought my 06 with 56K highway miles on it. It was bone stock when purchased. Tranny shifts great now but I have been reading about how many members have had tranny problems. Mods: Wheatley's "mild" tune, CAI and Magnaflow exhaust only. I flushed my tranny oil 100%, gasket, filter and parts washed pan at 60K. So I am wondering with SS's history and current mods what you all expect I can get out of it? I drive 40 miles daily not in traffic and don't abuse her at all, just drive conservative. Any opinions or input would be appreciated. If I do rebuild it eventually, definitely will install shift kit, stall and servos. Thanks everyone!
  14. BTW bud, I hope you can find what you're looking for. We had a member that was blocked and your user name was what he called himself, just reminded me of him. But if it's you ahhhhhhhhhh go away lol. Sure you're not, good luck.....
  15. I sold my 1st Black 06 with 11K, Air-Raid CAI, Slowmaster exhaust and Wheatley Tune for $20,500....
  16. Each person has their own reaction to that. Don't worry about it. If he was pissed chances are he didn't even read it or the URL, might off tossed it, or even ignored it and it blew off. If he did than maybe he appreciated the gesture....
  17. Welcome from L.A. Wheatley is your neighbor I believe, check his thread under Vendors on main page. He's the man for a tune. The best $250 you can spend free lifetimes retunes for any mods!
  18. Can't say I have but I' running the 22" longest one M.flow makes and it's pretty loud even with the stock exit pipes.
