  1. Thanks for all the replies. I stopped at a muffler shop and chatted with the installer. He said their really wasn't a flowmaster that fitted on the SS?

He recommended Flo-Pro. He would install it for around 300-350$, is that too much?

Also for those who replied, what type of Flowmaster do you have.

I just installed a 50 series Big Block F-master Dual 3" inlet / Single 3.50" outlet. My muffler guy said it was a special kit for an 06 SS. My buddy with the same truck installed that Flo-Pro and it's just too noisy in the cab. My Flow sounds deap and mean with a quiet cab at the same time. I am real happy with it, here's the part # if your interested - Flowmaster # 530513

  2. Im in the Palmdale area in Cali. and Im looking for a good detail shop. Does anyone in the area know of a good shop to take the truck to? Thanks guys...

Hey, I live in Van Nuys and there is a car wash on Ventura Bl. and Van Nuys Bl. called "The Handy-J Car Wash" - yes that's the name and no sorry the detail doesn't come with one. I took my girlfriend's car in there and the paint was destroyed. I thought I picked it up from the paint shop instead of the detailer. They did a great job and charged me $150.00 for a small car. I think a truck is around $250-300. I hope this helps...

  3. Here is the part # 96181P I went through hell trying to find one. I tried E-Bay, customs shops, body shops, my dealer and on-line stores - everywhere. So after all this research and trial/error here are the facts. I purchased this emblem from Rydell Chevrolet in Northridge, CA. There is NOTHING special about the emblem. The trick is that you have to buy an "03-04 Full Size Silverado HD" emblem. This emblem will fit all 03-06 Chevy Silverado 1500 Grilles as well as 2500 HD and 3500 models. They only come from the dealer in "Billet Aluminum" It is an OEM part from GM. I hope this helps...

  4. Hey SSSers...

I have been wanting to ask this question for some time on this forum.. :dunno:

I am tired of detailing my truck...

Putting tire shine on my tires...

Going for a ride...and then seeing shine slung all over the sides of my truck... :banghead:

I really dont care about gloss level ...but I would like it to last if that is possible...

    Your expertice is appreciated..as usual!

    Thanks in advance...

The main key is to clean your tires first. I use "Westley's Bleech-White Blackwall Cleaner" Wet the tires well, spray it on really heavy and scrub with a bristle brush and then rinse. You see by cleaning the tires first you remove all the road grime and brake dust which clogs the pores in the rubber, thus making the rubber clean so the tire shine absorbs. Now as far as the product that absorbs the best, lasts longest and is the shiniest well, I've tried them all and belive it or not the "Extreme Tire Shine by Armor-All" has worked the best for me. The second key is to waiting at least 15-30 minutes before driving. I usually wait an hour at least. I know it's extra work but the payoff is worth it to me in the end.

  5. I used the Armor All Extreme Tire Shine this past Sunday for the first time on my g-force tires and it was awesome. Just spray it on and you don't even have to wipe it off. Just let it dry for about 15 minutes or so. I can't compare to other brands since I haven't used them, but I can recommend this stuff.

Yeah me too, I have had the best luck with "Extreme Tire Shine" by Armor-All. It seems to absorb into the tires and not leave a film on the rubber.

  6. I was wondering, I have some kind of gunk on my headlights; I think its some sort of paint, because I can't get rid of it for the life of me. I've tried almost all sorts of cleaning products that I could find.  I was wondering if it's safe to use acetone or some sort of paint remover to get rid of it. Since it is on plastic is it going to screw it up or not?

    Thank You.

I've used a product by Meguiar's called "Plastic-X" I used on my tailights to remove a small scrape with paint on it some pice of s*%t left for me as a present in a parking lot. I was skeptical that it wouldn't work but it did. It's basicly like a claener-wax for plastic and it doesn't leave a haze either. Also I tried claying it and it didn't work so, good luck to you... :chevy:
