holy crap! I have a lot to learn about these trucks I guess...so I know that this is going to sound stupid...but this is the first silverado I have had so bear with me, I am guessing that means you have a 3'' drop on your truck? I am used to cars...not spindles, leaf packs, and that other stuff.

Yeah, you're right. 114 just doesn't cut it. A TRUCK should be doing at least 130 to 140 minimum. Might I suggest hitting up Thiokol for some surplus space shuttle boosters. They had some bad O-rings a while back, so they have some boosters that didn't quite make quality control. They should be fine for propelling your SS to 300 MPH or so however. Mike LMFAO....dont forget that you might need some sort of superbrakes to go along with it. And Jonmalibuss is right, once you get close to 100 your speedometer is crap! Even certified speedometers in police cars are off at that speed, unless you get poped by lasar or radar, youre gonna be off. I know what you mean about it sucks to get beat by a beater import, but at 120 mph I hope youre racing on an open backcountry road where the only thing that you will kill when you DO crash is deer, a tree, and yourself! I had my mustang to 150, at least thats what the speedometer said, but it was freakin fast! I couldnt imagine getting my truck up to even 120, hell even at 90 it wants to float.

does anyone know where I may be able to find sound clips of dumped exhaust on our trucks? I tried streetfire with no results. Anyone on the boards got some sound bites?? I had dumps on my mustang with flowmaster mufflers, I loved the sound. Not sure how it would sound on the ss though.

Yea thats something new I just learned, but what is an 05 facelift? Thanks to GM it looks like its going to take a bit more to get parts for my year. I dont mean to go off topic in this thread, but what would it take to get a cowl hood? Are there any other production companies that make hoods for 06 models that anyone know of?

Well my Silverado is 2006 equiped with the 5.3L. It is 2WD, I got a 2 wheel drive so I could smoke the tires. Yeah, the flowmasters are my only mod for now. Is it possible for a stock chevy to hit 105mph? Because I heard a lot are limited at 98 mph. Yeah, I had the truck since new. I bought about a year ago. I raced quite a couple of Silverados and I have only lost to a Silverado SS. I smashed on a modded 4.8L and mostly any Silverado that tried to race me. dude good run...put your truck on a dyno and see what it pulls, very well that it could be a freak, wouldn't be the first that I have heard of.

the pics look good man. if someone has any info on the tbss lower grill with the fog lights that might fit into the sss let me know, that would look good!

just saw this thread and wouldnt mind getting in on this. does goodmark do a classic cowl hood for the 2006 sss? and does it make a difference if it is a 2007 ss with the 06 body style? cause that is what mine is.
