    1/8 mile times

Did I mention a full tank of 87 octane?
  2. Yeah I had noticed that it was faster than some guys with some tunes already. Probably has to do with the region. It was sunny and about 60 degrees. I plan on a cam (possibly the one SSThunder has, if anyone has dealt with him before, let me know, I just don't want to get stuck, I'm sure he's an OK guy), pushrods, springs, LS2 chain, t-stat, nitrous (100-125 shot), and a custom tune. I will probably look into headers and exhaust later, just trying to make the biggest gains first. There is a 1/4 mile track about an hour away that is still open, I want to make some 1/4 passes too. I'll post 'em when I get 'em.

No, I wish I did know. I had to send the stock computer back before I ran the track..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I ran a 9.48 with a 2.17 60ft today. I'm stock with a CAI. I didn't think to try in Tow Haul mode. I did hold it in 2nd gear, it was shifting to 3rd just before the trap the first few runs.
  5. Well, I wanted to get some stock times before I started tweaking. The only track I can go to right now is 1/8th mile but here's what went down. Fisrt, I'm bone stock except for a K&N CAI, It was on the truck when I bought it. RT (sucked) .317 60 ft. 2.17 ET. 9.48 This was the best run of the day as far as ET goes. I ran 2-9.49's, a 9.53, 9.56, 9.62, and 2-9.75's. Oh, the best part was spanking an '84 Corvette that ran a 9.74. I don't think he was expecting that. It was test and tune day, he got there late and pulled up beside me when I was getting ready to run. He wouldn't talk to me after that. His friend did make a 9.50 pass on the car later. Well, stall, cam, tune and 125 shot coming soon. Any ideas what I might see with that?
  6. The shop I've been talking to said that he would have to back the timing up for the spray but he could make enough tweeks elswhere to still give me more power off the bottle than stock.
  7. Mine had 4:10's from the factory, I am thinking about going steeper.
  8. The slow turn noise is somewhat normal due to being in 4wd, mine does it and any 4wd truck will too. There is a service bulletin regarding the noise at speed. It involves replacing the carrier (the part the ring gear bolts to) in the front diff. It seems some of them were machined out of round.
  9. So the Trailblazer converter is around 2400-2600 stall behind a 6.0? Is it worth the install time to go with that instead of a higer stall?
  10. OK, I've talked to a local speed shop about a cam swap that I intend to do myself, just buying parts and info from them. He suggested a 224/224 .563/.563 114 lsa. He said he uses this cam a lot. He also said I would need to change the push rods and springs. I told him I was going to spray with 100-125 shot, he said he normally doesn't recommend a "nitrous specific cam" since I won't be spraying all the time. Do I really need rods and springs, or can I just do a cam swap only? He also suggested an LS2 chain and oil pump while I was in it. Anybody run this cam? With spray? Wondering what kind of numbers at the track I might expect with no other mods yet. He said I could get consistant 12's with NO2, cam, long tubes, exhaust, tune, 100 shot, stall. I know for a fact this guy has been deep in the 12's before so he must know whatt he's talking about.
  11. OK, are switching over to e'fans really worth the effort? Anybody have before and after times with no other mods? I mean are you talking .1, .2 at the line?
  12. Oh yeah, he also said this kit had virtually no turbo lag at all. Full boost was around 3,000 so with a stall, you could launch at full boost.
  13. Hey guys, I'm new to this site, and my '03 SS. I am also interested in an STS setup. I talked with Nick from STS the other day. The base kit for $4,000 is just that, a base kit, turbo kit only. He suggested this kit to me, upgraded turbo (sorry don't remember the spec, I think a T-67?), eight new larger injectors, a booster pump, custom PCM, PCM is lifetime tuned, (future mods, they will retune for free) $6,500 for this kit. What threw me off was he said it added about 130 HP. That seems like a lot of money for 130 HP. He also said that anything over 8psi boost was in danger range on a stock engine. To run higher boost levels, you would need to go with H-rods, forged pistons, etc. Anyway, just my 2 cents.
