  1. Had another thought. How well will that cam react to the Maggie down the road and how will it tow??? i ask cause i have to tow occasionally and dont want to kill the tow capacity. also will the dynatechs work well or can i save some cash and do pacesetters with magnaflow cats???

  2. Well i was on my way to a friends house last night and i this later model Supra blew by me with what looked to be a Folgers Coffee Can for a muffler and Duct tape holding together the rear bumper so i thought it was kinda funny lookin but anyways i caught up with him at a stop light and he started reving his engine and i didn't hear a turbo so i knew i was ok. we nailed it at green and once i hooked up i walked him so fast his head prolly hurt. so he stayed behind me and turned off onto another road. so later on the same road i pulled up to a stop light next to a V6 Mustang being driven by some kid with chrome everywhere and he was trying to rev but i couldn't hear it over my idle  so the light turns green and he goes and that V6 starts screamin and i let him get like 3 car lengths an i punched it from a 20 roll just to give him an earful of V8 and i walked him like he was standing still. i later pulled into the gas station and he followed me in and started talkin shit about how i wasn't fair and he wasn't really racing and i guess he expected me to ignore him and leave and give him a sense that he won. but i had some free time so i said alright lets go from a dig to 120 and he looked like he was gonna shit himself so we pulled out and lined up at the red and he stalls it up and the light turns green and he pulled on me cause i was turning tires but again i hooked up and just for the hell of it i ran it to 120 and i thought he had stopped moving i was walking away from him so fast. So i guess i need to add 3 kills to the tally. :driving:

  3. will the Pacsetters with the 3" Pacesetter Y-pipe bolt up to my factory system on my 06'5.3L Estended Cab Shorth Box 2WD or should i just bolt up the headers and drive uncapped :driving: to the Muffler shop for my high flow cats and Y-Pipe. Its about a 5 mile drive but i am worried about damaging something with them uncapped. I know i'm gonna throw a SES code for the Cats and the rear O2 but i will only be going a few miles.

I'd love to run without cats but i need someone to tell me if i am gonna have inspection problems in Texas???

  4. GVWR is the weight of everything including:

    Truck

    Fuel

    Passengers

    crap in the bed

    trailer

    crap in the trailer

Basically everything the motor is responsible for moving.

as for trailer size, a 6'x12' isn't that bad it isn't so big that it will be unweildy but it certainly isn't small. make sure it has trailer brakes and you have a trailer brake controller (Tenkonsha) and a bigger trany cooler would be a really good upgrade to make before the trip since you are going through the heat towing. make sure your tune is alright to tow with to. thos 22's arent gonna help any but the 6.0L has plenty of power so it shouldnt be a problem. as for loading, make sure that you keep the weight on the trailer not the truck by loading lighter stuff in the nose of the trailer and loading the heavy stuff over the trailers axle(s) that being said if you could find a tandem axle that would help. If you can find one with a ramp for a back load door that helps immensley in loading and unloading of the trailer.

The last time i helped my buddy moved we used a 20' wells cargo enclosed trailer. it was huge, i could stand upright inside it and i'm 6'5" that was an unwieldy trailer since the side of it was huge and i almost had an accident when i caught a good crosswind and the trailer started to sway really bad. If that happens the best way to remedy that is to use the gain on the TBC controller and slam it to lockup and then give it some gas and that will make the trailer straighen out behind you and then regain the controller.

    I hope that helps.

  5. so that cam will work well in an LQ9??? I ask cause my next stop in performance will be a GMPP LQ9 and the performance parts from the 5.3L (Cam, Comverter, long tubes, etc) will transfer over to that and then from there i will eventually make it to the 408 but it will be awhile. and somewhere in there is a FLT Level V

  6. yea i was planning a 408 but it was gonna turn out to be like 12 grand the way i wanted it plus tranny and rear-end

so for now i am gonna start on this and then when i do the 408 i can transfer the TC and the Headers. so a little bit of both is good. and when i eventually do the Maggie then i have the supporting mods

  7. I want to apologize to everyone for my comments. they were out of line. I was really tired from a really long couple of days and i snapped and took it out on ya'll. and for that again i apologize. and to ssaman, its good to know that there still are good neighbors out there. I've know a few crappy ones.

and to BYN i apologize for snapping but it really irks me when people come in and start breaking balls out of nowhere and then when you slaughter the English language like that it is difficult to take anyone seriously.

So again i apologize. i flew off at the handle and it was inappropriate

  8. Ok well i spent some time at MTI hammering out cam specs for my truck since i found the 408 to be unfeasable at this time.

So here is how it looks so far.

PI Vig 2800 10.5" Triple Disk

    Dynatech long tubes

    224/224 .581/.581 114LSA

The mods would be done in that order since i cant afford them all at once. how do yall think that cam will be in my truck??? and will that stall be daily driveable without noticing???

and the question of the hour, how long will the 4l60e last behind those mods

  9. i def think Bob up there with his panties ina bunch needs to pop a couple of pills and relax, bro if i lived next to Bobo over here id probly knock his ass out, and b4 u say anything bob dont run ya mouth, cause no one care what u have to say, take ur old ass back to ya couch, polish off another 6 pack and eat ya doritos garden city bitch........

    BYN is here....!

Is it me or did the collective IQ of the entire forum just drop a few points with that response. oh and lets not forget the apparent mastery of the English language that has just been so graciously bestowed upon us.

Let me put that in words you can understand: F*** off

  10. I'm just wondering how much does a tune help you in the 1/4. Since I have an HP Tune on my 5.3 crew cab silverado my best on the 1/4 mile stock was 16.9 with 3.23 gears 20" rims and after the tune i dropped it to a best of 15.9 but an avg. 16.0-16.2. It's alot faster in the street since at 40 it'll still kick down to 1st. gear and it'll jump forward as it shifts into second I don't know how safe that is since it stays in second till 105 and then goes into third gear. I just want to know what are you'll times before and after your tune.

Dont worry about the shift points i run my at WOT at least oncew a day and i have had my MTI tune for 6 months. :driving:
