Ok so I was looking around at some turbos for a possible remote turbo build. Now I am very new to the whole FI scene so if what I say is dumb just let me know lol. I only want to push 5-6psi seeing as my transmission is stock aside from the cooler. So I guess what im looking for is. How much money would to fab a system like that up? and how would my transmission hold up under 5-6psi? and how does that turbo look? too big? too small? Thanks in advance guys!

A remote system sounds like what I am thinking of. Would a remote turbo be easier to do? How hard would it be to pump oil to and from it? And would 8psi be max to push on the stock trans? and how much power would be made with 8psi?

Yeah it probably would take a lot of fab work, but oh well...I was expecting that. But I assume I can get a 70s turbo and still push only 4-5psi ( What im aiming for is to not push a ton of psi b/c I dont want trans problems down the line ) Would 4-5psi do ok with a stock trans or even with that little of boost would I need trans work? But with the manifold issue could I just take exhaust from behind a cat and not do any kind of fab work before the header? That is probably a stupid question but again I have 0 clue on this subject lol.

I was talking to one of my friends last night and he was saying that I could just buy a small turbo off of ebay (56mm) and hook it up to only push around 4psi. what do you guys think? I would be setting it up just the same but it would be small and not pushing a ton of psi. And if you guys think it will owrk what kind of turbo would be best? Thanks in advance!

So I was going to my g/f's house tonight and I notice some car behind me with HIDs is following pretty close. We get up next to each other at a red light I look over at him. He is in a older Acura probably 99 or 00 and he looks really embarrassed or shy and just kinda smiles, points at the light an shrugs. I just smile and stall, light turns green and I take off so does he I have him by two a length at 40 where I shut down ( lots of cops on that road and there was one waiting just half a mile down ) needless to say he didnt pull up next to me or anything. On to the LT1 ( the one that matters ) We get to the next light (same road 5min after the Acura) I just barely get to the light when it turns green I got on it just enough to let him know I was there. Then he punches it and so do I. He walked away like crazy! We catch the next light and I told him I underestimated him (being a LT1) he says my truck is pretty fast and I thank him, then we take off again he has 2 on me at 50 so I just gave up lol...I was low on gas anyways. So all in all I learned LT1s are not at all slow.

Ok so my trans cooler will be in friday and I plan on installing it that night. Is there anything I should get before hand? And does the trans have its own coolant or does it run off of the regular engine coolant? Will I loose any coolant in the process of changing it out? Thanks in advance guys!

Yeah 200 is usually where it is at most of the time but I hardly give it a break. I run around in it from 8:30am to about 11 at night. Trans cooler is only $70 and if it will help it out why not...couldent hurt

I do plan on getting a Zippy shift kit in the near future along with a stall. When the money is flowing well enough for all of that. But for now I think I'm doing pretty good. After CAI and the cooler I'm getting a tune for sure along with a 160 t-stat. I'll keep you guys posted on how it's all going!

So I have my full exhaust on and its awesome. I have a few bucks to spare now and I'm thinking of getting a CAI or a better Tranny cooler ( Tranny has been running around 200 when I am on it and I drive it all day long ) So which would be the best idea? Upgrade my tranny cooler since it gets hot all day or get a CAI? Thanks in advance guys!

Thanks for all of the info guys! I am going to be getting tuned by a shop down the street. The guy only has a 2wd dyno so he will have to do a street tune. With the trq converter however, is it a must that I get one or will it run well enough with the stock one? And what about my tranny, how must more stress does a cam like that put on my transmission? I'll be getting a upgraded cooler for it soon. Thanks again guys!

I was looking at getting a cam for my truck and decided to look at Texas Speed. Get yourself a couple of SLP Loudmouth 1s. Weld those suckers in and you will be making peoples ears bleed. I had some on my truck a few months back and it was crazy loud. Here is a clip of me reving with them on ( not very much of a rev b/c I was in my college parking lot and a security guy was close by...)
