2003SilvSS
Are both the passenger and driver outside mirrors heated? If so, I don't think that my passenger side is working. I noticed it before, so I turned it on and felt the mirrors. The driver's side is warm, the passenger side felt cold as could be. Anyone else have this problem? If so, what was done to fix it? Thanks Brian
sky-raptor
Maybe you should try and take it in to the dealership ... It SHOULD be under warrenty.
Aspentaylor
Of course both are heated! I used mine a bunch of times these last couple weeks. Have to love the small things!
BenKey
Fuse?
2003SilvSS
Where is the fuse located for the passenger side mirror? All of the controls work that adjust the position of the mirror and it folds in against the cab fine. Brian
DanY
Not a fuse. There is a module in the door (FPDM front passenger door module) which controls all the mirror functions (motor controls, heater, and turn signals). The module has a serial link to one of the computers (body control module?). If the motor controls are working this module has power. My truck had the passenger side mirror heater go out. The dealer replaced the entire mirror assembly under warranty and swapped out the painted cap onto the new mirror. The list price of the mirror was something like $570. I'm not sure why you can't just replace the glass with the heater element bonded to it. My passenger side heater works now, but not as well as the driver's side mirror. It takes much longer to clear and longer to get warm to the touch. Take it to the dealer and let them pay for it.
2003SilvSS
I called the dealer and they told me to bring it in on Wed. It'd be nice to get it fixed that day, but more than likely they'll have to order parts and take it back in again. Brian
cwest94
Gee 2003SilvSS, it sounds like you either have a lemon, or just bad luck with this truck. You never have any positive posts regarding your SS.

Thanks Brian <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Both heated, come on when you use rear window defroster. Fuse would cause both to not work as well as rear defrost. Mine went Kaputtt, dealer replaced it under warranty Dr Mike.
2003SilvSS
CWest94.... I know alot of the posts have been negative, but I've never said anything bad about my truck. I do not think it is a lemon by any means. I think it just has flaws that need to be fixed under warranty. I want everything to work like it should. I am the second owner, so I find things that the previous owner may have over loooked and not had fixed. I've never had a vehicle with a warranty, so I'm taking full advantage of that while I still can. Brian
