2003SS B.B.
My front end has been clanking a bit when when I hit bumps. You can hear it clear as day but only feel it in the steering wheel very lightly. Could this be my ball joints? Can't hear or feel anything if its cold enough (20 Deg or below). 2003 w/20K miles. Just looking for ideas before I take it to the dealer. The noise is driving me nuts.
StealthSS
Check your intermediate steering shaft and steering box-warranty should cover it.
J. Yates
I agree with stealthss I just had my steering shaft replaced Tuesday and it is like a whole different truck, don't let them give you the runaround saying they want to grease it first then replace, thats what one dealer did to me so I just took it to the one I knew would replace it
2003SS B.B.
Thanks for the advise. I would've never thought to check the steering shaft/linkage or box. StealthSS, Silver Birch Metallic huh, Nice!
qwank
every dealer should be replacing them now. unless they are out of stock and go on back order again, in that case they will order you one and grease it for the time being.
