kaotik1
Work truck interior.... LOL.. Have you ever looked inside the lightning.. I dont know how many less frills you can fit into one truck..
fordsareslow
I wish GM would build that truck. The idea with the work truck interior is to keep to costs down. They were org. talking about making it with a MSRP around $21,000.
kaotik1
RST makes something simular to this its a short box and 5 spd. Comes fully decked out, but I think its the 5.3 motor. heres the link http://www.regencyvans.com/rst.htm
fordsareslow
can only get the 5 spd. w/ a 4.
ImpoSStor SS
I still think the only way you're going to get a regular cab SS is to build your own, like I did. 6.0 liter, 6-speed, a few more frills than the SEMA truck.

StealthSS
I spent 2 yrs trying to put one together (short cab short bed), spent thousands of $$, and it still wasn't a real SS. If they had made this one with the 496 to begin with, I might have bit. IMHO this truck will still be a wannabe-but-never-will-be SS. Off topic, back in 96 a friend of mine found a 454SS with a blown engine, put in my little brother's 4.3 out of his Syclone, and badged it a 4.3SS---I liked that better than I do this one...it was pretty freekin awesome. sorry, Im just jaded on posers (no offense, ImpoSStor-your truck rox supreme)
2drTahoe
Hey ImpoSSter did you change your axle gearing with the T56? I read about one guys install and I think he switched to a 4.56 but I can't remember. Did you have to change the clutch linkages? How clean was the swap? There's really no linkage with the hydraulic clutch. I modfied the trans crossmember to fit and had a shorter driveshaft built.
zippy
how far back did you have to move the hole for the shifter?
ImpoSStor SS
how far back did you have to move the hole for the shifter? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not sure how far back it went. I don't think I ever measured it before installing the carpet. Here's a photo to give you an idea where it ended up.
