BlackySS13
Had the same prolem with mine. 70000 miles on the tranny and it turned out the band was too worn and the pin wasn't hitting it to make it go into 4th.
Bowtie70SS
There is something in the instructions about making sure the pin is contacting correctly...I thought you could use a washer to correct that. Dave
HOD954
does anyone know this for sure and can it be corrected with a washer help asap thanks?????????
yeary03SS
Did you install the piston and lip seal in the correct direction in the fourth apply cover? I'd also make sure the retaining ring was seated all the way in all around the cover.
Bowtie70SS
There is something called an extender cap. This pin cap will add .150 to the length of your pin before grinding(if it's too long with the extender). Place cap on pin, then use a hammer to strike the tip down until the cap bottoms out. Then grind the pin tip to the desired length. With the servos installed you should be able to take a pry bar and compress it slightly...that's how you'll know it's too long. Check out www.superior-transmission.com for some more answers. Later Dave

SS_bnoon_SS
I'm waiting with baited breath to find out what your problem is. I'm installing a TB Stall in a few weeks, then doing the billet servos, metal accum. piston, and a few other things a few weeks after that. I went to www.superior-transmission.com and only saw a bunch of products being listed... no help there...
Bowtie70SS
Superior is who has those extender caps...try a local trans shop as they may be able to get one of those caps thru their suppliers. How far can you compress the side cover with everything installed? I was told that you can put washers over the end of the pin to make it longer. Superior has a tech line I believe and they are the ones who make the servos and should be able to give you some help. I wish I were more of a trans expert. Also try here about half way down the page they show a longer pin that is available. That is probably what you need if you don't want to lengthen yours. I thought it was funny that servo kit didn't come with a longer pin(mine didn't either) Dave Edited June 10, 2006 by Bowtie70SS (see edit history)
zippy
I have about 50 of those caps if you need one.
Bowtie70SS
It was also suggested to me that maybe you don't have the servo assembled right, or the seal may not be in correctly. Do you have the install instructions? If not I can scan mine and e-mail them to you. Dave
