Bowtie70SS
Is the nut on the fan clutch left handed thread or right? I removed the water pump and fan/clutch together. I want to take the fan off to clean and paint the water pump so it looks good when I put the engine back in, hopefully this week. I guess I'm gonna have to buy a strap wrench to hold the WP pulley so I can loosen the fan. Any other tips are appreciated. Thanks!! BenKey
I can't remember if it is left-handed, but I do remember it was a bitch to break free.
haynss
with the strap wrench it was crap but then i ended getting the $50 fan clutch remover and it took like 5 seconds i think it was left handed.
04CHASE
a big wrench and a hammer always worked for me!!
ltn
yeah just get a big wrench and a big hammer or rubber mallet and beat on the handle of the wrench until it comes undone. hit it to the left and it should come off in a few hits. Bowtie70SS
A couple of taps with the old air chisel and it came right off. RH threads by the way and it hardly left a mark on the nut. Dave
