SoCalSS
http://news.windingroad.com/auto-news/capt...e-in-the-flesh/ The hood would have to grow on me...But still a supercharged 6.2 with 650 hp...Rediculous when this comes to the streets
kaotik1
Undecided on the looks of that.. By the looks of it though the hood is to fit the S/C

kaotik1
Read what was posted with the pictures. They are saying that the 427 walls are to thin to support a s/c that is why they went down in block size.
RevolutionRaceWorks
We can just loose that hoodscoop.. well who cares.. you can always glass that out. But.. The power.. yes oh yes. I drove my first 06 z06 a couple weeks back and still dream about. Yes. I want one.
kaotik1
I will try this weekend to make it to the shop where they have a Z-06 twin turbo. It was something like 698rwhp and 760ftlbs at 5200rpm.

Pasadena SS
Man I can't wait for the 2008-2009 Camro SS. I wonder if it's gonna be Supercharge. I can't wait to get mine. It's gonna be sweet.
CrAzYMoPaRGuY
I don't mind the hood, the rear of the C6 isn't my cup of tea though as far as styling goes, but with the performance numbers it puts out the rear styling can be overlooked.... ;)
punkt71
First off, I am no engine builder/engineer whatever, but I am sure you can throw some PSI in the LS7 with no problems. I am sure it has already been done... anyone ?? Also, this is most likely not the final body of the car. They are using a Z06 (you can see the badging on the side) as a test mule for the powertrain. The hood was needed because of the different block and blower. The body has probably not even hit the prototype stages, let alone needed to be driven outside in the open when they have perfectly capable Z06 chassis/bodies laying around to fine tune the motor. Going with Chevy's history... I bet the Corvette SS (or whatever its going to be called) will only have different badging, a new hood, and maybe some type of bumper changes, and embroidered seats. Big deal. For the price they are going to want for that, thats getting into the Ferrari/Lambo territory. If you have 100K to blow on a vette, why not throw down 30-40K more and get a 360 Modena or Gallardo?

The other thing you touched on is the name: It seems that Chevy decides that if they need to get more sales out of a car, they throw on an SS name badge. It used to really be something when you had an SS. Now, it's wheels, and stickers. I'm wondering how long it's gonna be before we see test articles on an Uplander SS. detjoe
but lets think positive, we could get the new heads and an intake from the 6.2L that support a GM SC! and flow like crazy, now when we can get these thru the GM parts counter then I will know it is coming. If the V series are getting compressors then why wont they a good fit for upgrading:)
