jakerz
well i planned on changin my fuel filter myself, but it looks like its a bigger headache then i thought it would be... i went to my local chevy house and requested a fuel filter for my ss truck. they gave me an ac delco part # GF652. well when i get under my truck back at home my filter says ac delco part # GF481. so i went to the acdelco website and the site says there is no GF481 part #. whats the deal??? (its sunday, so it will be tomorrow before i can get the right part anyhow)
Tony-CA
I believe GF652 superceeds GF481. Do both filters physically look the same?
jakerz
no the 652 is bigger than the 481 thats on my truck...

jakerz
ok i was wrong. the filters are the same size (at least to the eye) its just the part #'s dont match. should i go for it?
AJSmyth
i thought the fuel filter was in the tank...and typically they change it when the fuel pump goes out, thats what the dealership told me.
PladdPezzPunk
04 and newer is in tank. the 03 has a fuel filter on the frame rail. I would change the filter with the new one. it probably is a supercided number. as long as the fitting on the end are the same you won't have any problems.
